It was a perfect day...of course, it was perfect unless you were Tenchi Masaki. It had been horrible at school, and when he returned home, Ryoko and Ayeka were fighting, as usual. He sighed as he sat out by the old shrine steps, attempting to do his homework. But, it was never quite around the Masaki home, and sure enough, Ryoko came stomping out of the house, cursing Ayeka under her breath. "How dare she?! Her and her little 'look at me! I'm a princess' shit!" Tenchi blinked. It was true, Ayeka liked to throw the fact that she was a princess around, but this time it looked like she really upset Ryoko. She looked like she was about to cry. Tenchi stood up. "Ryoko? Are you okay?" The close to tears space pirate whirled around, glaring at Tenchi. "I'm just fine!" She snapped as she began to walk out towards the lake infront of the house. Tenchi blinked. What was she going to the lake for? He cautiously walked after her, making sure to keep his distance. Ryoko was not fun to deal with after her and Ayeka have had one of their famous fights. Ryoko stopped at the edge of the lake, dipping her foot into the water. It was actually pretty warm, considering it was late September. Then she jumped in, clothes and all. Tenchi, by now, had become extremely confused. He ran towards the lake, standing at the shore line. "Ryoko?!" Ryoko surfaced, and even though she was wet from head to toe, Tenchi could still tell that Ryoko had been crying. She sniffled, a sad look crossing her face. Tenchi walked out till he was in water up to his ankles. "Ryoko. Whats wrong with you? Was it something Ayeka said?" She nodded, biting her lip. The teenager sighed, walking through the water till he was right infront of the soaking wet pirate. "What did she say?" Ryoko started crying again. "She...she told me I still smelled like I just came out of the tomb! She said...that no one would want an ex-mummy!" Tenchi cringed. He had to admit, Ryoko could be mean, but that was way too harsh. He reached out, hugging Ryoko. "Don't worry, Ryoko. Ayeka was wrong, your not a mummy anymore..." He smiled, hugging Ryoko alittle tighter. Ryoko smiled, hugging Tenchi back. "Thank you, Tenchi..." She let go, phasing back to the shore, smirking. "You know, you might wanna get out of the lake. Don't you have to wear that uniform to school everyday?" Tenchi blushed, finally noticing that he had just gotten his only uniform wet. Ryoko chuckled, walking back towards the house. The dark haired teen smiled, watching Ryoko walk into the house. He ran to shore, catching up with Ryoko and stopping her. "Ryoko..." He pulled her close, kissing her on the lips softly. "Don't let Ayeka get to you." The space pirate nodded, barely noticing where she was. Tenchi had kissed her! She gave a goofy smile, and walked into the house, ready to handle whatever Ayeka had to throw at her.
