14:50:52, Metal Team and the GIGN say their praises and farewells. And then Raptor 2-4 arrives with Truck advising Metal Team w/ Volk to get aboard quickly, all while firing at RPG teams on the museum's roof with the minigun.
But one of them gets lucky and shoots down the Osprey during its descent.
Osprey Main Pilot: Raptor 2-4 is hit! We're going down, going down!
Frost: No!
Sandman: Run!
Luckily the whole aircraft did not explode. So Frost heads inside to rescue Truck, a fellow Delta operator named Sergeant First Class Gator, and the crew of Raptor 2-4.
Frost: I'll get 'em! Truck, Gator, guys, everyone alright?!
Truck: Yeah.
Gator: The pilots need help getting off! Help us!
Frost: Okay, we gotcha. Can you move?
Osprey Main Pilot: Yeah.
Osprey Co-Pilot: Yeah.
Osprey Crew Chief: Affirmative.
Frost: Alright, we gotta move fast, so keep your heads down. Only shoot if you can. Come on.
Sandman: Overlord, primary LZ is compromised. Raptor 2-4 is down. Moving to alternate, over.
Overlord: Roger, Metal 0-1. Head to the U.S. Embassy for transport to the secondary LZ. Warhammer will clear your way, over.
With Raptor 2-4 down and the primary exfil point out of commission, Metal Team and the Osprey Crew head for the U.S. Embassy to get ground transport to the secondary exfil point. Hunter Team 2 and Sierra Team 1 are en route via four Humvee convoy.
In the air, Warhammer destroys all marked enemy forces that are currently attacking the two teams. All while confirming the ROE (Rules of Engagement) and the incoming bomb run.
Once all ground friendlies are in the clear, Warhammer authorizes the bombing run of A-10 Warthog Odin Squadron 6. Overlord gives the coordinates and the deployment levels all Russian forces in the roundabout.
After the fireworks show, Warhammer gets back to covering the two teams. Sandman and Frost direct the gunship to destroy enemy infantry ahead and behind them and the others, three MI-17s and a BTR-80.
After a slight modification to the ROE to allow the engagement of buildings with enemy personnel, Warhammer levels a part of a hotel filled with RPG teams. Now the operators can cut through it to get to the embassy, but they need to do it fast because the gunship needs to bug out to avoid SU-57 Felons trying to shoot it down.
F-22 Raptor Jester Squadron 2, Warhammer's protection from fighters, is able to draw them away. They allow Warhammer to get into position again for a bit to help Metal Team and the Osprey Team in the U.S. Embassy.
Jester 2-4: Warhammer, LANTIRN (Low Altitude Navigation Targeting Infrared for Night) is pinging all over the place. We need to clear out.
Warhammer: Roger that, 2-4.
Sandman: We're taking more fire from the embassy! Give us a hand!
Warhammer: Metal 0-1, we can give you one pass and one pass only.
fires*
Warhammer: Embassy levelled.
Jester 2-7: Time to go, Warhammer. 2-6 and I can only keep your window open for so long.
Warhammer: Copy, 2-7. Bugging out.
However, Sandman needs 105 shells on a fortification around a statue in the embassy's courtyard. With air support unavailable, Frost and Gator move to flank the enemy position.
Sandman: Alright. We'll draw fire. Gator, Frost, flank that MG so we can keep moving.
Gator: Got it.
Frost: Ready.
Sandman: Go! Go! Go!
Gator: Alright, tag him.
Frost sees the HMG gunner, pulls out his RSASS and takes the shot.
Frost: He's down! Move up, we'll keep an eye out!
Frost and Gator provide cover fire while the others advance and set up shop in the cleared fortification. Once the enemy presence around the embassy has thinned out, the two rally up.
Then the main entrance gets smashed by an enemy T-90. The good news is Warhammer is on station again, so Frost marks the tank and its infantry support.
Now clear of Felons, Warhammer provides fire support for the teams until the convoy arrives.
Foley: Metal 0-1, this is Hunter 2-1. We're one minute out to your location. Copy, over?
Sandman: Copy that! We're almost at the intersection. One minute out, over!
The four Humvee convoy is being driven by the Rangers, with four members of Sierra Team 1 on the Browning M2 .50 BMG heavy machine guns, and Rorke and Elias helping the incoming teams in. While everyone boards, Warhammer clears all streets filled with tanks heading straight for the convoy.
Rorke: The LZ is two clicks north of here. Let's get a move on!
Sandman: Get Volk in the Humvee, let's go!
Warhammer: Going as fast as we can crew.
Foley: We secure?!
Ramirez: Secure!
Dunn: Secure!
McCord: Secure, let's roll!
Foley: Warhammer, this is Hunter 2-1! We're moving out, over!
Warhammer: Roger that, 2-1.
As fast as possible in an AC-130 Spectre, Warhammer clears the streets and route full of gun truck teams, tank groups and helicopter squadrons. But at the bridge leading to the alternate LZ, a T-90 shoots at Foley's vehicle with no direct hit, but the explosion and shockwave flips it, thus landing on its right side.
Ramirez: Whoa! Stop! Stop! Stop!
AC-130 TV Operator: One of our vehicles is down. Yep, I see 'em.
Ramirez: 2-1 is down— Those tanks are aiming for us! Get out! Get out!
AC-130 FCO: Hunter 2-1 has just been hit.
Jester 2-6: Warhammer, more bogeys are closing in on your position. We need to clear out again, now.
Warhammer: Roger that, 2-6. Metal 0-1, we're taking fire. Stand by, making adjustments.
Foley: Dunn, get the Osprey Team in cover!
Sandman: Roger, Warhammer. Frost, Gator, get a Javelin from the Humvees and take out those tanks!
Frost: You got it! Ramirez, McCord, we need your help in reloading!
Gator: Here, Frost! Ready!
Frost: Ready!
Four FGM-148 Javelin missiles later, Frost and Gator w/ Ramirez and McCord destroy the two T-90s. Then everyone moves in and clears their half of the bridge which will serve as the LZ, all while Truck and Grinch keep Volk covered.
But the advance gets heavy resistance when a Felon starts doing gun runs. The Osprey Team moves to cover, but Frost sees them running too slow, so he helps them.
Now in a compressed four man group, the jet spots them and fires a ground missile. Frost sees it and rushes the crew to get out of the way, only for the shockwave to launch them seven feet in the air.
They get knocked out upon landing. Sandman, Ramirez and Arsia see them and rush to help them, only for the rest of Sierra Team 1 to stop them and tell them that they are already dead.
Rorke: I'm getting Frost's purple smokes! Cover me!
Sandman, Ramirez and Arsia: FROST!
Rorke: They're gone! Guys, stop 'em!
Greene: They're gone! Get back to cover!
Sandman: They could still be alive!
Poe: We don't know that! Now get back, First Sergeant!
Ramirez: Move, Corporal! They need help!
Ajax: You can't help them anymore, Sergeant! You gotta let 'em go!
Arsia: I can't leave him!
Elias: He's gone now, Arsia! Listen to me! I'll take care of you now! Don't worry, okay!?
Arsia: What?! Fuck you! Get your hands off me, fuckface!
Ramirez: Get off her, you creepy asshole!
Ajax: The fighter's coming back!
Rorke: Find cover, now!
Sandman, Ramirez and Arsia are forced to find cover, and leave Frost and the Osprey Team. Frost has faintly heard everything as he drifts in and out of consciousness.
In the air, Warhammer is defending against a squadron of Felons with Jester 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 2-4 and 2-5 in pursuit of them. Two more head for the AC-130, so Jester 2-6 and 2-7 move out to draw them away.
Jester 2-6: I got tone. Fox two. *boom* Splash four. Alright, 2-7, we can corner his buddy. Follow— I'm locked!
Jester 2-7: Defend! Defend!
Jester 2-6: Flares out! Rounds comi—
Jester 2-7: 2-6! *sighs sharply* Alright, that's it!
Jester 2-6 defends himself from the missile, but gets shot through the canopy by the Felon's guns. Jester 2-7 evades and dumps her speed to get behind 2-6's killer.
Jester 2-7: Gimme tone, gimme tone, gimme tone. Fox two.
Jester 2-7 launches a missile but the Russian fighter defends with a Cobra Maneuver. But she saw it coming and already has her guns spooled up.
Jester 2-7: I gotcha.
brrrrrrr*
Jester 2-7: Structure and afterburner shot up. Let's see if you'll still follow me.
The Felon returns fire once in position, but Jester 2-7 defends with flares. Now she climbs up in hopes that her enemy will follow, which he does despite his damaged fuselage and afterburners.
She slows up while ascending to force the Felon to use his guns. She narrowly dodges the flurry of bullets, and just as the Russian pilot sees that he's in range for a missile, his engine stalls, and he starts falling into an out of control spiral.
Knowing that her trick worked, she turns around and goes in guns blazing. The Felon pilot struggles to realign his aircraft to eject, but once he is levelled, Jester 2-7 already has the drop on him and gets killed in the canopy by the Raptor's cannon.
The lifeless Felon glides down and crashes next to the bridge/alternate LZ.
Truck: Incoming!
Grinch: Movin' up! Cover me!
Truck: I got you covered!
boom*
Jester 2-7: Whoo! Splash four! That one's for you, Jester 2-6.
The explosion wakes up Frost and he struggles to come to.
Sandman: (faintly) Overlord, this is Metal 0-1! Black LZ at grid 2, 7, 7, 5! Hold this position! We got three minutes until CAS gets here!
Frost finds everyone at the middle of the bridge fending off the Russians on the other side. He looks around and sees the Osprey Team laying beside him, so he drags them and sits them up behind cover.
He finds them with serious wounds and no pulses. He gets disappointed in himself for a few seconds before closing their eyes, paying his respects and moving on, as the Felon that killed them is still up there hammering the others.
The fighter gains altitude and banks right to reposition. While the cockpit and fuselage are exposed, Frost engages with his RSASS with high aim, much compensation and hope for a dash of luck.
He knows that what he is doing is a spray and pray, a Hail Mary, but he feels compelled to try anyway, even if it will get him killed. Once the aircraft starts to fly straight, he empties his sniper rifle, drops it, and equips his LVOA-C.
Firing in semi-auto, levelling the barrel with his left forearm as his left hand is holding a mag for an emergency reload, with the same aiming and compensating tactics as before, Frost aims high at the cockpit. Reloading immediately, he starts to shout as he tries to shoot down the jet.
But as it closes in, it turns out four rifle bullets were able to penetrate the canopy, hit the pilot and kill him. The fighter then crashes 40 yards behind Frost's position on the recently cleared side of the bridge.
The Delta operator bends and starts breathing sighs of relief knowing the fact that he lived and succeeded. Ten seconds later, he retrieves his RSASS, refills his kit and rushes to aid the others.
Sandman: Red smoke on the LZ! Need you service targets north of that location!
Warhammer: Metal 0-1, mark targets with smoke and we'll give you some breathing room.
Sandman: Mark the target with smoke, Rorke!
Rorke: Smoke out!
Elias: Troop transports! Whoa! Save ya!
Rorke: Thanks!
Frost destroys the trucks filled with hostiles with his M203.
Gator: Frost! You're alive!
Frost: And back for more, Gator!
Gator: Where's the Osprey crew?
Frost: Gone. I couldn't save them.
Gator: Add them to the list of things these assholes will pay for!
Frost: Hooah!
The Russian Army brings in reinforcements, so Frost shoots their MI-17s down. With one last purple smoke grenade thrown by Rorke, Warhammer conducts one last fire mission before returning to base for low fuel.
But then the Russians bring in additional reinforcrments in the form of a BTR-80 squad. Odin 6-1 and 6-2 try to help, but they need Overlord's clearance to destroy the area without a smoke marker.
So Overlord authorizes them to commence a bomb run on the Russians' side of the bridge leading all the way to the Eiffel Tower. With that, the two A-10 Warthogs level the enemy positions.
The shockwaves and shrapnel compromises the Tower's structural integrity, so the whole thing falls onto the river. Then the CAS, MEDEVAC and CASEVAC arrive.
While the AH-6 Little Bird and UH-60 Black Hawk land, Metal Team, Hunter Team and Arsia check on Frost, who has gone to get the fallen Osprey Team.
Sandman: Frost?!
Gator: He's getting the Osprey crew. Come on.
Sandman: Arsia, come on!
Rorke: Negative, Arsia! Get back here!
Sandman: Shut it, Staff Sergeant! You five are on babysitting duty now! Arsia, Grinch, come on.
Grinch: On it.
Arsia: Coming.
Frost packs the Osprey Team in body bags. At the same time, he tells them that their killer is dead and the mission is complete, hoping that they can hear him in the afterlife.
Frost: We did it, guys. *sniffs* We're all going home. Rest easy now.
Sandman: Frost. Thank God.
Frost: Sandman. Guys. *sighs* Thank God indeed.
Grinch: Let me help you with them.
Truck: I got this one.
Frost: Thanks Truck, Grinch.
Arsia: We'll take care of them, Frost. Board your chopper.
Frost: Alright. Thank you, Arsia.
The Rangers and Paratroopers board the Black Hawk with Volk and the Osprey Team, while the Delta Operators board their Little Bird and watch friendly ground troops backed by gunships take over the Russian Army's side of the bridge. 16:20:04, on the flight deck of the USS Gerald R. Ford, Arsia hugs Frost with worry and relief.
Arsia: Fucking Rorke and Elias told me you were dead.
Frost: Did they check our pulses?
Arsia: I don't think so. I think they were just taking your smoke grenades back there.
Frost: Well, I'm here now.
Arsia: I know. *sighs* I must have died a lot already througout these wars. *sniffs*
Frost: *chuckles* There, there. It's okay. You're okay. I love you, Arsia.
Arsia: I love you too, Derek.
Frost then opens up to his team and Hunter Team 2 for relieveing hugs.
Sandman: Glad you're okay, Frost. Between us, I won't let them get away with what they said about you guys back there.
Frost: Yeah, I heard all of that faintly. I appreciate it, thank you Sandman.
Truck: Yeah, Frost. We were worried.
Frost: Me too, Truck.
Grinch: I wouldn't know what to do if you were really gone. Happy you're still here, Frost.
Frost: Me too, Grinch. Glad you guys are still here as well.
Gator: I didn't believe you were gone until I knew personally. Thankful that I was right.
Frost: Hmm. Thanks for not giving up on me, Gator.
Ramirez: Thank God you're still alive and kicking, Frost.
Frost: Amen, Ramirez.
Foley: Grateful that you're still standing, Frost.
Frost: Thank you, Foley. Me too.
Dunn: Damn, Frost. Deltas are crazy enough, but you're insane.
Frost: Aw, thanks Dunn. You're guys are just as insane.
McCord: Good to know you're alright, Frost. You tough bastard. *laughs*
Frost: *laughs* Good to see you too, McCord.
