(AN) Hello and welcome to the next chapter of Facing a Past Trauma, I hope you all enjoy, and remember to Read and Review.

In the last chapter, the rest of the squad learned the truth about why Amy transferred to the 99 and we met the 64 squad. In this chapter, we witness the takedown of The Vultures, as well as a shocking ending.

Had to fix a few errors in the last chapter: Jo Myles is a detective and there were a few spelling errors.

Chapter Three

The Takedown

The squad exited the briefing room; Terry, Hitchcock and Scully sworn to secrecy about what they had learned. The rest of the squad joined their 64 counterparts in the bullpen, where Holt and Grimes would brief them on the takedown, except for Hitchcock and Scully, who would be doing what the did best: paperwork; lazing about and eating.

"This mission will be extremely dangerous, so you all need to be on your guard," informed Holt, "Since we're joining forces with the 64, each of you will be paired up with a member of the squad. The pairings are as follows: Peralta and Walsh; Diaz and Walters; Jeffords and Marshall; Santiago and Myles; Boyle and Shepherd and I'll be with Captain Grimes."

"I certainly hope you're as good as Captain Holt says you are," said Grimes before looking at Amy, "I'll be intrigued to see how far you've come, Santiago."

"Oh … I'm sure you'll be impressed." replied Amy, who wasn't quite sure whether to take that as a compliment or not.

The 99 members quickly paired up with their 64 counterparts.

"So, Jake, I wanted to ask you something." began Sam automatically.

"I know nothing!" blurted out Jake before grinning nervously, "I mean, what did you want to ask about?"

"I didn't say you did," replied a confused Sam, "I just wanted to know why you don't like Captain Grimes? Look, if you're jealous, I can assure you that there was never anything between Grimes and Amy. Besides, there's like an eleven year age gap between them."

"Ewww, that would be so gross." groaned Jake, who now had more of a reason to hate Grimes.

Soon after, the two squads arrived at The Vultures base of operations: a disused music theatre. Both squads suddenly groaned as a familiar figure approached them: The Vulture. Jake and Boyle both gulped.

"Well, well, well, look who decided to show up and take down the real criminals," sneered the Vulture as he glared at Jake and Charles before noticing the 64 squad, "So, the 64 are here too; great."

"Come on, man, we said we're sorry." said Charles.

"You two barged into my office and wouldn't stop pestering me," retorted the Vulture, "On the bright side, I got a photo of your faces when you realised I wasn't the leader of The Vultures."

And with that, the Vulture produced a photo showing Jake and Charles with shocked facial expressions, while two pairs of police officers had them by the elbows.

"What are you even doing here?" asked Holt.

"I'm just here to watch you lot capture the real leader," stated the Vulture smugly, "then I can brag about Peralta and Boyle being fools for even longer."

The Vulture laughed while walking away.

The two squads ran over to the building. Holt and Grimes stood in front of the glass doors.

"Prepare to breach on my command!" ordered Holt, "Three … two … one … GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!"

As one, the group charged through the doors, guns raised. "NYPD!" they all yelled in unison.

The thugs that had been in the reception area turned and either began firing their guns or running in every direction. Jake and the other detectives ran after the fleeing thugs, while Holt, Grimes, Terry and Mike ducked behind pillars while exchanging fire with the four thugs, who were taking cover behind the counter.

Jake and Sam chased two of the thugs down a corridor.

"Let's tag team them!" declared Sam.

The two detectives began running on either side of the corridor before rugby tackling the two thugs and handcuffing them.

Rosa and Olivia tripped the two thugs they were chasing by simply sticking their feet out near some double doors. After handcuffing the thugs, the two high fived.

Charles and Ben were in the main hall area, chasing their two thugs up a flight of stairs. Charles chased one of the thugs down one of the rows of seats before tripping down a flight of steps and taking the thug with him.

"Are you okay?" asked Ben in alarm as he handcuffed his thug.

"I'm … okay." croaked Charles as he handcuffed his thug.

Amy and Jo had chased their two thugs up a flight of steep, winding stairs and were currently handcuffing them. Amy noticed a nearby door with a note that read 'Occupied' on it.

"That must be where their leader is hiding." suggested Amy.

"Makes sense." replied Jo.

The two officers charged at the door and broke it down. Inside, a bald, obese man with scruffy clothes looked up in shock. This was Max Parker, the leader of the Vultures.

"NYPD! You're under arrest, Parker!" barked Amy as she and Jo got to their feet and aimed their guns at Max.

"Oh dammit." groaned Max before slowly raising his hands.

Across the street, the Vulture watched with glee as the 99 and the 64 squads came out of the theatre with the entire Vultures gang.

"Oh look, you've now got the real leader of the Vultures!" hollered The Vulture before laughing.

"Why are you telling us this?" asked a confused Jake, "Unless you want to take credit for this?"

"Oh no, I just want to have photographic evidence to remind you and Boyle of how foolish you've been," answered The Vulture before taking out his mobile and snapping several photos, "Call this a bit of insurance just in case you try accusing me of something else."

The Vulture then walked away while laughing in delight.

The group of police officers placed the thugs into their cars just as a pair of ambulances rolled up. They were for the thug that Charles had taken down the stairs with him, Charles himself and one thug that Holt had shot dead.

"So, Raymond, it seems like Santiago has indeed come a long way," remarked Grimes, "Do you think she'd consider returning to the 64?"

"No." replied Holt bluntly.

"Oh," replied a slightly annoyed Grimes, "Any particular reason."

"Because she's perfectly happy at the 99," answered Holt, "The 64 just wasn't right for her anymore. Amy is not just some object you can buy and use."

"Okay, okay, only asking." said Grimes before grinning nervously.

After the squads returned to the 99, processed the gang and did the standard paperwork, Holt and Grimes gave a little speech.

"Congratulations," stated Grimes proudly, "Thanks to all of you, the Vultures are no longer a threat to this city."

There was a great round of applause.

"Drinks are on me tonight," declared Holt before turning to Jake and Amy, "Peralta, Santiago, a word in my office please."

The couple followed Holt into his office. Holt sat behind his desk, while Jake and Amy stood.

"So, what's our next move when dealing with Grimes?" asked Jake.

"Tomorrow, I will try and make sure that Grimes is demoted or sent to Wunch, that would be a truly terrible punishment," informed the 99 captain, "I'll make sure that it can't be traced back to me and you'll never have to put up with Grimes ever again."

"Wow," said a surprised Jake, "You two couldn't have been friends for too long."

"We were friends for years," answered Holt bluntly, "I gave him a lot of good advice. This betrayal burns deeply."

"Oh." said Jake, who promptly shared an awkward look with his wife.

Afterwards, the squads prepared to head out for the celebratory drinks. The 99 put their weapons back in their lockers, while the 64 went back to their precinct to do the same.

"I'm just going to use the bathroom." said Amy to Jake.

"You want me to wait outside for you?" asked Jake, who was still weary about Grimes possibly being in the building. Grimes had claimed he was off to the 64 to do more paperwork, but Jake wasn't fully convinced.

"Jake, I find it sweet that you're being protective, but I'll be fine, I can handle myself." said Amy before sharing a kiss with her husband and walking in the direction of the bathroom.

The rest of the 99 and the 64 left the squadroom, not noticing Grimes poking his head out of Scully's nap closet.

Grimes crept out of the closet and went in the direction that Amy had gone in.

Amy was currently dork dancing in front of the bathroom mirror; clearly happy with today's victory. After finishing, the young sergeant headed to the door and opened it, only to leap back in fright as Grimes stood in the doorway.

"This is the ladies toilets, you're not allowed in here!" yelped Amy in alarm.

"Ohhh, Santiago, is that really the right way to treat your old captain." hissed Grimes as he slowly backed Amy into the ladies toilets.

Amy regretted not having her taser or pepper spray.

"What do you want from me?" asked Amy nervously.

"I want to get the reward I should've gotten for you becoming a sergeant," informed Grimes just as Amy pressed herself against the wall, "As I told you once before: I deserve something in return for your career, and teaming up with the 99 was the perfect opportunity to get what I missed out on."

And without warning, Grimes launched himself at Amy and began to violently kiss her. Amy's eyes widened in horror. The sergeant pushed Grimes away and attempted to run for the door, but Grimes was too quick as he grabbed her round the chest and threw the black haired woman to the ground. Amy slowly shuffled backwards as Grimes approached before taking off his belt slowly unzipping his pants.

"No, no, no, please don't." begged a terrified Amy as Grimes dragged her towards him by the feet, ignoring the terrified begging and pleading.

Twenty minutes later, Grimes arrived at the bar, where he spotted his squad and went to join them.

Jake was now worried: Amy hadn't shown up yet. Jake turned to Charles and Rosa. "I'm going back to the precinct, I think Grimes has done something to Amy." he whispered.

"What makes you think that?" asked Rosa in concern.

"Amy would never take this long going to the bathroom," informed Jake, "Plus, Grimes' belt looks a bit loose."

"Have you tried calling her?" asked Rosa, who was beginning to worry that Jake was becoming slightly paranoid.

"Yeah, I did and she hasn't picked up." replied Jake.

"What are we waiting for, let's go!" cried Charles as he sprang to his feet before staggering about and slamming his face into a table.

The three detectives raced out of the bar.

Jake, Rosa and Charles entered the squadroom and began looking for Amy.

"Amy? Amy, are you in here?" called out Rosa in concern.

The three suddenly stopped as they heard somebody slowly approaching. The trio turned and watched in horror as Amy staggered into the squadroom; tears streaming down her face. Her uniform was visibly torn in several places, her badge and shoes were missing. Amy's belt was a bit loose and she was trembling from head to toe.

Jake ran over to his wife and wrapped his arms around her. "Oh my god, Ames, what happened?" he asked gently.

"G-Grimes, h-he r-raped me." muttered Amy in a distraught voice as Jake and Rosa helped her sit down.

Jake felt sick to his stomach. Charles and Rosa looked horrified.

(AN) And that was chapter three of Facing a Past Trauma. I hope you all enjoyed.

So yeah, this story has taken a sinister turn. I decided to have Grimes rape Amy based on a comment on a video that suggested that things could've gotten much worse had Amy stayed at the 64.

The idea for Holt's strategy for dealing with Grimes came from a Reddit user.

Next chapter: the rest of the squad finds out and decide to try and help deal with Grimes, well, except Jake.

Until then, this is TimeLordMaster108 signing out.
