Thanksgiving Surprise-Ch 1
Penelope blew out a deep breath and then rubbed her temples as she pushed herself back from her computer, it had been a long day and her team was on the way home from a long case and tomorrow started their Thanksgiving break. She couldn't wait to do nothing for the next week but veg out in front of the tv and watch her favorite rom coms while she relaxed both her tired body and mind, this break would be a welcome change after the past few weeks.
She turned off her babies and grabbed her things and headed toward the elevator, as she stood there waiting she said to herself, "now what are you going to have for Thanksgiving dinner Garcie?", a smile came to her face and she said, "ohhhhh I'll get one of store bought Marie Calendar dinners and eat it, now that's a plan" as she stepped onto the elevator and waited for the doors to close.
Her team was on a case in town so she knew that they would all head home and get some rest before heading out for their Thanksgiving plans out of town, sure it would be lonely with all of her friends gone but they too need some much needed rest after the long hours and tough cases they have.
As she put her things into her car she bit down on her lip as she remembered JJ, Henry and Reid were heading to spend the holidays with his mom, it had been a while since they had spent any time together and she smiled as she remembered how much Reid was looking forward to seeing her and spending some much needed time together.
Emily, Hotch and Jack were heading to see Hotch's brother Sean this year, he was suppose to come visit them but his plans changed so they were packing up and going to spend a few days with him. She laughed as she thought about how different the two Hotchner brothers were, she knew that her bossman was all work and barely any play but Sean on the other hand was just the opposite but she knew that even though they were different they still loved each other very much.
When she pulled out onto the highway she said, "alright Esther let's get home and soak in a nice hot tub and then you and momma are gonna go out tomorrow and get stuff for Thanksgiving dinner so that I can get some much needed and lonely time to myself. A smile crossed her lips as her best friend, her hotstuff, her Derek crossed her mind, since his mom had married Dave her and the girls all three moved to town so Derek didn't have to go out of town, well unless the girl he was seeing had plans for them and then of course he would go.
As far as she knew Derek wasn't seeing anybody and hadn't in quite a while and now that she thought about it she hadn't been with anybody in a while either, at first after her breakup with Kevin she didn't want to date and then Sam came into the picture. She liked Sam but like wasn't enough to keep a relationship going and with her job she could be called out of town on a minutes notice with the team and be gone for weeks at a time and that didn't lead to many healthy relationships for her.
When she pulled up into the parking lot of her apartment she got out and said, "well Esther, mommy will see you in the morning, get some rest girl" as she patted the hood before turning around and heading toward the front door of her apartment building. When she stepped off of the elevator a few minutes later she took a deep breath and said, "almost home, almost home, I can practically feel that water all around me, I can't wait to soak in a tub of hot bubbles.
She put her key in the door and turned the knob, when she stepped inside she jumped when she saw Derek sitting on her couch, she put her hand to her chest and said,"how did you get home so fast, waitttttt, why are you here, are you hurt, did you get hurt on this case and didn't tell me?", he laughed as he reached out and took her by the hand and pulled her down onto the couch with him.
Derek said, "no sweetness I'm not hurt, I just wanted to come see you, I've missed you, is that a crime?", she said, "well no but", he put his finger over her lips and said, "no buts, I just missed my best girl and wanted to spend some time alone with her". Penelope nodded her head and said, "well I have to admit that I did miss you to sugar and I'm so glad that you're home and that you're safe and now you can enjoy your time off and spent it with your mom and sisters at papa bears"
Derek shook his head and said, "no can do sweetness, I've got plans for us", she looked at him and said, "plans for who?", he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and said, "plans for us, as in you and me goddess, as in the all seeing all knowing oracle and her hotstuff of course" and her mouth flew open and before she could say anything he said, "I've already talked to momma so she knows that I won't be spending Thanksgiving with her this year"
Penelope said, "Derek Michael Morgan", he said, "Penelope Grace Garcia", she said, "what plans have you made that you can't be with the people you love most on Thanksgiving?", he rested his forehead against hers and said, "I am going to be spending Thanksgiving with somebody I love very much and that person is you", she said, "w w what did you just say?", he grinned at her with is famous smile and said, "you and I are going to the cabin for Thanksgiving", she said, "the cabin but why?", he said, "so that we can spend some time alone".
She felt her heart racing, this couldn't be happening, surely he wasn't saying what it sounded like he was saying, Derek could read her like a book so he said, "and before you go all Penelopeeeeee on me yes it is what you're thinking, I Derek Michael Morgan am head over heels in love with you Penelope Grace Garcia and I want to spend Thanksgiving alone with you", she put her hand on her heart and said, "b b but" and before she could finish her sentence or her thought his lips descended onto hers in their first kiss.
