A couple days later, the Plantars were heading to the archives.
"Say goodbye to Wartwood, kids!" Hip Pop said as he drove the family snail.
"Bye, Wartwood!" Sprig and Polly said as they waved to their town.
"See you later." Anne said with a two finger salute.
"Now kids, this is going to take sometime to research everything we can before our big trip." Hop Pop said, "With the pass clearing up next week, we'll be able to go outside the Valley."
"We know, Hop Pop, and we'll be fine! You know why?" Sprig asked him.
"Cause we're strong!" Polly said as she flexed her small muscles.
"And because I have my eyes on you." Anne said, "Sprig, you tend to get us into some problems."
"What? No, I don't!" Sprig said to them.
"Yes, you do." Anne, Polly, and Hop Pop said at the same time.
"Just... stay calm a little." Anne said.
"Fine, fine. But I'm not a problem causer." Sprig said as he crossed his arms.
Anne rolled her eyes.
"My memory says otherwise, Sprig." Anne said to him.
'Of course certain people could say the same about me back home.' Anne thought.
"Alright, Kids, enough talk, we're here."
Anne, Polly, and Sprig got off of the snail and looked at the archive Hop Pop took them too.
"This is the best place to start."
Hop Pop took the lead and guided the family to the door, opening it to reveal a rather large library with dozens of shelves.
"Wow, what is this place?" Anne asked, "IT's pretty dusty."
"It should be. This Archive is as old as Wartwood itself, possibly older. Used to be a house for someone, before they died. If anything about the music box can be found, it's here." Hop Pop said as they began walked down to the main floor.
"Alright, then let's check and see what we can find."
For the next couple of hours, the Plantars searched the library for information. Anne climbed up the wall and put a book back before pulling out another one, so far she had any more info about the music box.
'There has to be something here.' She thought as she climbed down to a table and began looking through the book.
She flipped through the book until she found something. It wasn't the music box, but it had the same markings.
"This is it, this could be it!" Anne said before calling the family. "Guys! I think I found something!"
"What is it, Anne?"
"I found something that could help. It has the same symbols as in the box. Maybe they can help us with some sort of translation." Anne said as she moved her finger down the page, "I just need to translate it."
"I think I can help with that. I have some knowledge of translating from my youth." Hop Pop said as he went to sit next to Anne.
"It says here that these symbols were first used in Newtopia, over a thousand years ago."
"So the box must be from Newtopia." Sprig said with a nod.
"What's Newtopia?" Anne asked.
"It's only the capital city of all of Amphibia. Home to the wisest minds and the oldest culture of all the land." Hop Pop said.
"If this is any indication, then the box must be from there." Hop Pop said, "Which means we need to head there after the passage clears."
"Great to know!" Anne said with a smile, the next step of her search to understand the box and finding her friends was right before her, "Maybe we'll find Sasha and Marcy out there."
"If they're still alive." Sprig said, earning a smack from Polly.
"Sprig!" Hop Pop said to him!
"What, I'm just being realistic."
"That's cold, Sprig. That's REALLY cold." Polly said as she shook her head/body at her brother.
"Come on, we've done a lot of work, time to head home and prepare." Hop Pop said.
"Okay, at least we have a good idea of what to do now." Anne said with hope.
'Just hold on a little longer guys.' Anne thought, 'I'll find you soon.'
After the group exited the archive, barely managing to get out before the sundial ran out and closed the archive up tight like a vault.
