Elsewhere, The Toads were getting ready to advance. The pass was unfrozen and the frog were left ready to attack because of their usual "Frog of the Year" Party.
"Remember, we are going to trick them into coming here, and then we can feed that traitor to the plant." Sasha said, "But don't forget, the main goal is to get Anne so her and I can find our friend and find a way home."
"Yes, Lieutenant!" They all said as Grime walked up to him.
"The toads are ready to march." He said to her.
'And ready for anything this Anne can do.' He thought.
"Good, let's get going." Sasha said.
The army marched off towards Wartwood with Sasha and Grimes leading the way.
"Don't worry Anne, we'll be reunited soon."
Sasha was convinced that she would be saving her from the frogs, that Anne was miserable her like she was before she got in Grime's good graces and was made into his Lieutenant.
"Who knows what horrors she's being subject to." Sasha said,
Anne was laughing as she was thrown in the air by the frogs. This party was successful and everyone was having a good time.
"This is the best night of my life!" Anne screamed.
After one more throw into the air, Anne was let down. She stumbled a little before sitting on a bench next to Mayor Toadstool.
"Some party, isn't it?" Anne asked
"Yes, I….suppose so. It's quiet the shindig if I am being honest." He said while sipping some punch.
Anne looked at him.
"Okay, why do you not like me being Frog of the Year?"
"You wanna know why? Because toads have always been in charge of frogs. That's how it's been for centuries in the hierarchy. Newts, toads, and frogs." Toadstool said as he help up three fingers. "It's helps keep order and trouble out of Wartwood with me as the mayor."
"Not when you tried to steal everyone's taxes." Anne said to him, "Do you honestly believe that you keep trouble from coming here? You almost got everyone hurt because of you lying to the toads."
"Oh sure, bring up the ONE time I was corrupt." Toadstool said with an eye roll.
"Look dude, all I'm saying is that you should try and be honest with others." Anne said before walking away.
Toadstool scoffed at Anne as he finished his punch but still thought of Anne's words. The only one that knew the real him was Toadie and that frog was basically his lapdog, yet he stood beside him through everything. He was his best friend, the ONLY true friend he had in town.
'Maybe…..I should be honest with myself first.' He thought.
Anne took a walk to the bridge to clear her head.
"This has been some night." She said.
"Looks like it."
Anne froze, she knew that voice.
"Sasha?"
Anne slowly turned to the voice and saw that it was Sasha, who was now decked out in body armor and weapons like a warrior princess.
"Hey, Anne. It's been a while, hasn't it?" She asked with a smile.
"Oh my god!" Anne said, hugging Sasha, "I can't believe you're here!"
"Me either! You were so close yet so far! I'm so glad you're alright!" Sasha said as she hugged Anne back, "I can't believe we found you!"
"We? Is Marcy with you?!" Anne asked as she pulled away a bit.
"No, but the friends I brought with me are going to help us." Sasha said, moving to show the toads, enveloped in shadows.
"The toads?!" Anne said in shock as the toads began marching past them! "You've been with the toads this whole time?!"
"Yeah, believe it or not, they can be real softies when you get to know them." Sasha said.
Anne couldn't reply as she watched them march right into Wartwood, disrupting the party she planned and scaring all of her friends!
"I have to stop them." Anne said.
"Woah, slow down Anne, it's fine." Sasha said, "We just came here to have a little talk."
"A little talk?! The last time they were here for a talk, they almost stole all of Wartwood's stuff because of Toadstool!" Anne said to Sasha.
"That was just their job. Even if it may have seemed cruel, they were just doing their jobs." Sasha said, defending the toads, "Besides, I have been working on a little surprise for when I found you."
"Surprise?" Anne asked as Sasha began guiding her to Wartwood.
"Don't worry. I can explain everything later. Right now, we shouldn't probably calm down the frogs." Sasha said.
