Come What May

Just a simple poem on a question that's been bugging me. I know it's been said and done but why really?

We were in darkness, lost

You came and gave us light

We weren't grateful; we nailed you to the cross

Yet You decided to save us

Lord may I ask:

Why?

Lord may I ask:

Why take our place and die?

You became our refuge

You chose to protect us

You shed Your blood for us

Even when we dying is a deserving must

We had to pay for our transgressions

But You gave us a way

Chose to love us forever

Come what may...
