Wednesday quickly arrived, Lily found it harder than she thought she would, waiting for this day to come. Her and Scorpius had been owling daily but as they wanted to keep their relationship low key. Due to their families, there wasn't much they could do in private, there were always news articles being written about them and what they were up to. Lily had one written last summer about how much she'd changed since she was little and was becoming a woman. They'd gathered some photos from her family holiday. Lily was less than impressed with the article when reading it. She was always going to have some sort of attention and she didn't want that for her relationship. Scorpius had suggested meeting by the old witch statue before walking to Hogsmeade. As Lily walked up to the statue Scorpius was already there.
"Good morning Lily" Scorpius said with a smile
"Hey" Lily couldn't help but smile, he gave her this warmth inside that she'd never felt with anyone else.
"Are you ready to go? I'd like to have a look in Honeydukes before we head to the Three Broomsticks."
"That sounds good, I'd like to look for a new quill if possible too. All the letters are making mine blunt!"
"Perfect" Scorpius said holding his hand out for Lily to take. The walk across the bridge to Hogsmeade was quiet, the rush of third years had dissipated and it left stragglers. They had planned this so they could talk freely without worry of onlookers. "How's your OWLs revision going?" he mentioned trying not to leave silence but he also wanted to know more about Lily as a person.
Lily sighed "Hard. I know my end goal of it all but there's so much to learn, particularly in transfiguration and potions."
"What is your end goal?" said Scorpius softly, he was curious about where Lily was aiming. He was aiming for an auror or a curse breaker.
"I want to be a healer" Lily said this quietly, she wasn't sure how others would react to this ambition. She had always dreamed of helping people but she worried that people would take offence that she wasn't going down the same path as her family – into the auror office or into quidditch. She was okay at defence against the dark arts and she was the chaser on the Ravenclaw quidditch team but her heart was in helping people.
"I think that suits you. You have the heart and talent to help people Lils. You don't need to be quiet about it" Scorpius turned to give her a kiss in reassurance.
Lily blushed and looked at the floor. Scorpius had that strange affect on her that made her feel like everything will be okay.
"And look, I'm quite good at potions – if I do say so myself – so I can give you some help if you want?" he whispered lifting her head up towards his planting a tender kiss on her forehead.
"Thank you" was all Lily could muster.
"Anyway let go find some sweets to forget about that for now." Neither had realised they'd reached the entrance to Hogsmeade.
Lily smiled "let's go"
Hand in hand they headed into Honeydukes. They knew it was a risk being there hand in hand but they didn't care. Honeydukes was filled with every sweet they could imagine. Lily kept staring at the Bertie Bots Every Flavour Beans – these were her ultimate favourite sweets. She was so fascinated by the sweets she didn't notice Scorpius stood smiling behind her, if he had his way he wasn't letting this girl go. Her smile had a magical aura to it.
"Look Scorp! They have a pick and mix!" Lily squealed bringing Scopious out of his thoughts. Lily delved in with a scoop and her cup finding lots of different colours and flavours of BBEF Beans. "Which ones do you want? Do you like them?"
"Yes, but I'll let you enjoy this cup. I'm going to get some chocolate frogs"
Lily beamed and filled her favourite sweets to top the cup and went to pay. She was so excited to try them all later.
After paying they headed to get some quills for Lily, she had a particular brand of blue quill that weren't the standard ones Hogwarts gave so she had to buy them when she could. She also bought a bunch of paper, she wanted to make sure she was fully stocked to be able to owl Scorpius on an evening without the whole school – or her brother – knowing. She just wasn't ready for those million questions yet.
As Lily collected her receipt she turned to Scorpius "Butterbeer time?"
"Absolutely"
They ambled over to the Three Broomsticks trying to be discrete about finding a secluded booth. Lily scanned the room from right to left and back again with Scorpius doing the same, she was starting to lose hope when she spotted some seventh years leaving a booth in the corner of the room. It was perfect, you could barely be seen by others but could see the whole room. "I'm gonna sit there before anyone else sits there. Will you bring the butterbeers over?" Lily said darting over to the booth.
"Okay, yep, sure" Scorpius said in confusion as he tried to figure out where Lily was going. "Oh there!" He chuckled to himself as he found his bearings and saw where Lily was headed.
Lily swung herself into the booth 'Perfect' she thought to herself. She could finally be herself in this booth. She stared over at Scorpius in the queue for their butterbeers analysing and swooning over his physique in his winter coat. It couldn't hide his large shoulder muscles even in a big coat. Scorpius had these strong muscular arms and shoulders that made Lily feel so safe and warm when she was within them. Scorpius was also wearing some slim fit trousers with some fluffy boots. The trousers clung to his strong legs, Lily could only see his lower legs but she could see the power that was held in those legs. Lily was blushing without even realising. She'd never really thought about her brother's best friend in this way before that night. He was always at their house in the summer as Albus' friend. Nothing else. Now whenever she saw him she couldn't help herself feeling like she was so lucky to have this man. She knew she had many people to answer to when their relationship came out but right now Lily didn't care. He was hers and she felt content.
"You okay there Lil's?" Scorpius said pulling Lily from her swoon placing the butterbeers on the table.
"What? Oh yeah. Just thinking about the fact we can be ourselves in here. No-one can see us or what we're doing" She completed her sentence with a tender kiss on his lips.
"Perfect" Scorpius smiled into her lips placing more tender kisses on her lips, then down her jaw line and onto her neck. This gave Lily a fire in her stomach, the same fire that she had that first night they had together. As the kisses reached her neck Lily let out a gasp and hummed but pulled away before it got any further.
"Down boy, I don't think this is the place for this" she murmured into his ear.
"Sorry you're just too irresistible" Scorpius said slyly nibbling her ear before pulling away. Lily blushed again, she knew if she didn't stop now they wouldn't be able to. Lost in all the firey lust between them.
Lily leant back against the booth "Well now you know my goals after school, what's yours?" she queried, trying to change their conversation to reduce their lust down.
"Curse breaker or Auror. I want to do something that has a little risk but at the same time challenges my mind. I can't just sit at a desk all day like my dad, I'd get so bored" he expressed. "I've got all the OWLs I need and I'm working hard on my NEWTs. I start applying to programmes next year, so I've got some time to make my mind up between them."
"That sounds perfect job for you, over the summer you could ask my dad if you could get some time in the auror office? Then you could get a feel before making your mind up?"
Scorpius booped Lily's nose "That's a perfect idea, Lils. Thank you."
They snuggled into each other and drank their butterbeers in silence, feeling content in each other's presence.
Soon their butterbeers were finished and it was time to head back to the castle before nightfall. At this point they didn't care if people saw them, they were wrapped in their own bubble of romance. Not much could phase them.
"C'mon Lils, we don't want to get in trouble with Professor Thomas for being back late." Scorpius nudged.
"Eugh, fine" Lily groans as she removes herself from Scorpius' side.
Scorpius helps Lily stand from their booth then holds his arm out for her to hold. It might increase the risk but it was a risk they'd like to take. Slowly they walk out into Hogsmeade and headed towards the castle. They didn't speak much, just taking in the beautiful area of Scotland they got to call school, as they neared the entrance to the castle both shuffled out of their arm hold. Professor Thomas was stood there watching, he had clearly seen them walking and had a strange look on his face as they walked up to him. "Potter, Malfoy. Cutting it fine, but you made it" he said with an eyebrow raised. He motioned his head as if to say 'go in'. Both Lily and Scorpius shared a look but said nothing and carried on into the castle.
"Professor Thomas knows something is going on." Lily sighs looking at the ground "I saw the look in his eye".
Scorpius turned to Lily "He won't say anything and even if he does, is there a problem?"
"I guess not but I don't want the drama. My brother is best friends with you but how well will that go down?"
"Fair point. Albus has a good punch; but I'd take it for you"
Lily felt her heart melt in that moment, she never expected this cold muscular Malfoy to have a such a warm heart. Forgetting where they were she stood on her tip toes and kissed him tenderly. "My hero" she whispered onto his lips.
This lit a fire in Scorpius' stomach, this girl was just something else. "Shall we finish what we started?" He whispered back in a husky voice that made Lily's leg feel like jelly.
Lily bit her lip and nodded.
Scorpius grabbed Lily's hand and started walking with increasing speed towards the prefect dorms. Scorpius found the first open door and flung it open dragging Lily willingly. He turned to lock the door while Lily removed some of her outdoor layers leaving only her jeans and a top. Scorpius turned around licking his lips, he couldn't wait to pull those clothes down from Lily. The fire in his stomach continued to grow, he took two steps towards Lily and collided his lips with hers. Lily felt the same fire growing inside her, she wanted him. Pulling at his top she slowly encouraged him out of his t-shirt giving her freedom to roam his upper body muscles. 'Fuck, these muscles' Lily thought. Scorpius began to pull at Lily's top, clothes were getting in the way of how much they needed each other. Barely breaking their kiss Scorpius brought her top up and tossed it across the room. This only grew the fire in Scorpius more, he could feel his jeans getting tight as his dick grew harder. Scorpius had only managed to pull his boxers as she said this but he abandoned the idea of getting dressed to turn to Lily. "Of course, Lily, I don't want to hide either." He said honestly. "I really like you, and don't get me wrong the sex is amazing but don't expect it on every date. You're so much more than that." He winked.
This response was everything Lily had dreamed of that first night the slept together. Lily felt like her questions about them were being answered and she could now relax and enjoy them. Her and Scorpius as a couple.
