So I be sitting here at my desk at work, doing what I do best and I completely forgot it was Tuesday. With my shift work, sometimes my days can get mixed up! Haha! But hey, thanks to my colleague, she answered my question right away about what day it is! heh

Sasuke was floating in a haze of darkness, a strong thick heavy scent wrapping around him, peeking his interest because at the same time as feeling powerful and almost overbearing, it was also gentle and inviting. He could sense his omega fully content with the scent, relaxing in it and releasing strong feelings of security.
While Sasuke's consciousness began to push him back to the surface, he mentally embraced all the amazing scents and emotional bliss that came with that scent. He wished, hoped, near prayed that he could forever remain in the state he was in. It was the closest thing to happiness and a feeling of being wanted he'd ever come close to.
A feeling of warm gentle caressing through his hair brought his consciousness forward quickly in surprise and he forced his eyes to open. The feeling of gentle caresses weren't normal and had him suddenly alert.
Brilliant blue skied orbs filled his vision, soft and caring, watching him closely and Sasuke could feel the compassion that radiated from the alpha. Seeing the long blond lashes that gently surrounded the brilliant blues, the raven haired omega couldn't stop a small smile escaping his lips as he instantly felt himself go calm. "Naruto…" he whispered through relieved breath.
"Hi there," Naruto responded softly. His warm breath cascading the raven's cheeks. "Welcome back."
Any thoughts of dumping the blonde out of his life were tossed out the nearest window. Sasuke indulged in the blanket of inviting scents and emotional waves of bliss for just a while longer. It was definitely a better place to be in than the world of responsibilities that came with being an Uchiha heir, which he knew was waiting for him.
"Fucking shit," Sasuke murmured under his breath after a few moments.
Naruto raised a brow and sat up, his head tilted in question at the sudden outburst from the raven. "Something wrong?" he asked.
Sasuke said nothing, as he adjusted himself to sit up. The blond arranging himself and assisting him into a sitting position. Sasuke looked down at himself to see that he was still in the pristine outfit that he had on when he was to meet his new betrothed. He looked about the room, noticing that he was now in his own bedroom with only himself and Naruto present.
"Where is that alpha?" Sasuke asked, running his hand through his hair. He was morbidly embarrassed that he had a panic attack and obviously fainted, but why was Naruto here? He was certain that Naruto did not have any business with his father, so just why—?
"Which alpha?" Naruto broke Sasuke's thoughts.
Sasuke's shoulders fell slightly with a long sigh. "The one my father had arranged for me to meet," his voice was but a whisper, laced heavily with disappointment.
"Your father? One you were to meet? The alpha—" Naruto's words trailed off before he began to chuckle loudly. Sasuke narrowed his eyes, glaring up at the blond, looking annoyed, while Naruto just laughed harder in response from the glare.
"Something amusing?" Sasuke hissed, his voice icy and cold.
"Oh my gawd," Naruto laughed and wiped his eyes trying to stop himself from laughing. He grasped Sasuke's one hand and clapped it between both of his large hands. "The alpha was here alright." Naruto's eyes twinkled and snickered with a grin.
Sasuke's head jerked back slightly at the admission. 'Did Naruto do something to the other alpha!?'
Naruto's giggles had disappeared and a broad smile was on his lips while he squeezed Sasuke's hand in his. "No need to worry, I'm right here." The alpha purred loudly in response, mentally pushing gently at the omega within his grasp.
Sasuke suppressed a surprised gasp at the admission. "You—What did you do? What were you thinking—?" He snatched his hand back out of the alpha's hand, giving the blond alpha a scowl.
Naruto blinked in surprise at the sudden reaction, confused by the turn of events. "Sas, I did what was right," he protested softly. "The honourable thing to do—"
"By taking care of the competition? That's the honourable thing?!" Sasuke hissed out from his teeth. He was furious with the blonde alpha before him, thinking that – no doing what he thought was right!
"Taking care of—Sas what?" Naruto interrupted, trying to reach for Sasuke's hand again. The omega snarled and bared his teeth at Naruto, who immediately retracted his hand.
"You fucking think killing off the alpha is the answer? What the fuck?!" Sasuke barked out at him. He tried to scramble his way off the bed, away from the strong yakuza crowding him. The thought of Naruto murdering the alpha that his father had arranged for him—it was, well it was barbaric!
Strong arms grasped him before he could get too far. Sasuke's omega purred happily and loudly with the alpha's strength embracing him, but Sasuke struggled in the hold, completely pissed at the alpha and his omega for being so damn compliant. The blond yakuza wasn't hurting him, but dammit! Sasuke couldn't find the strength to break out of the solid muscular arms around him. "Dammit! Let go you–you—" Sasuke barked.
Naruto rubbed his cheek against the raven haired omega, the rumbling of his purr vibrating through his chest. The alpha was quite keen having the omega back in Naruto's arms and expressed itself through scent and sound. "Sasuke, Sasuke," he chanted calmly, still gently holding the omega. "I don't know what you are getting so worked up over," he added. He inhaled deeply before—
"OW!" Naruto cried out in surprise and released Sasuke. Sasuke fell forward on his bed and scrambled back so he was facing him. Naruto pouted and looked at his arm before rubbing it. "You bit me?!" Naruto looked at the imprint of a bite on his arm. The skin wasn't broken, it certainly didn't hurt like he made it sound, but the whole concept of being bitten, well it was, completely unexpected! Naruto continued to pout. "What was that for? Is this what I have to expect every time we go on a date?!" Naruto whined out, feigning pain while he looked at the small bite.
Sasuke's eyes widened at the outburst. "What?!"
"Going on a date of course," Naruto repeated himself, rubbing at the bite on his arm before glancing up at Sasuke, sticking his bottom lip out in a child-like pout. His blue eyes met with wide black, seeing the confused look on the omega's face. "Your father never mentioned…?" he shrugged and waved his hands up, leaving the question hanging in the air.
"Mentioned what?" Sasuke seethed. "He mentioned an arrangement, not with who!" he added, the anger present in his voice.
Naruto pinched his lips tight, before rubbing at the back of his neck, looking up as if he was trying to figure out what to say next. "Well, umm." The alpha licked his lips. "Well, I requested the arrangement right before we, you know," he waggled his eyebrows. "And after our meeting in the woods, your omega, and my alpha, well, you know how they bonded, and that only made it more obvious that we are compatible…" Naruto stopped talking and grinned. A thud to the side of his head was so sudden and unexpected that it had the alpha sputtering in surprise.
"You idiot!" Sasuke barked out when he threw another pillow at the alpha's head. "You, you had me — how could you—"
Naruto held his arms up as the omega's smaller fists started hitting him on the arms. He began to laugh at the omega's antics, spitting out Sasuke's name, begging for mercy before lunging and grasping the raven haired omega gently. "Sas—Sas, let me— no, no! Wait! Ha ha!" He ducked his head, allowing Sasuke to wiggle out of his grasp, thump on him more before the pair settled and Naruto could talk.

Sasuke's head rested against the blond alpha's chest, feeling the warmth and purring that was lulling his omega. The blond was sitting upon his bed, his back against the headboard with Sasuke leaning contently against him, enjoying the atmosphere. After he had plummeted Naruto several times with pillows and his fists - even though the alpha giggled through it all - Sasuke finally settled enough to listen to the explanation.
To say he was shocked by his father's decision was an understatement. But to hear Naruto talk about how he had presented a deal to his father for his hand in marriage, Sasuke became angry with the blond. He was still furious to be thought of as a pawn to the Uchiha clan, but with Naruto explaining how he thought it was the best way to save him from the Hyuuga, and how his father refused to sell him off, Sasuke began to breathe evenly. 'Tochan really didn't know what was going on with Neji,' he thought to himself. And to hear that his father at first refused a yakuza member's proposal to boot, knowing what saying no to yakuza could mean, Sasuke felt dizzy to think of how much his family actually cared for him.
Even though his father had informed him that he was being courted, Sasuke would be making the final decision if he wanted to be with the blond alpha or not, after the courtship. But considering that his omega had already chosen its mate and made it very clear, Sasuke still wouldn't let his secondary gender make the final call.
"Sas?" Naruto whispered, his fingertips rubbing Sasuke's back gently.
"Hm?" Sasuke hummed out sleepily, not opening his eyes at all.
The alpha continued to purr and Naruto shifted slightly, so he could rub his nose into the crown of the omega's hair. "What ya thinking? You haven't really said, well, much — about the situation, ya know?" There was a hint of worry in Naruto's voice.
Sasuke opened his eyes and angled his head to look up. Those crystalline blue orbs looked down on him, a hint of uncertainty was obvious and Sasuke studied the lines on the blond yakuza's face. Square jaw, strong muscular lines that led up to his high cheekbones, sun kissed skin and soft lashes. Naruto's bottom lip tucked in between his teeth, and there was a subtle hiccup in the alpha's soothing purr. 'Both him and his alpha are nervous,' Sasuke thought to himself.
"Hn," Sasuke grunted. He brought his one hand up to cup Naruto's cheek. "I was wondering where you were taking me on our first date," he whispered and gave a small hint of a smile.
~~Three Months Later~~
Sasuke's eyes reviewed the text printed on the pages of the thick book. The slight shuffling of other people in the room echoed about but didn't phaze the raven. His fingers ran along the pages slowly, his eyes taking in the words carefully and every so often he would write a note in his journal. The scent of the old leather and pages was soothing, but nothing was more pleasing than the travel mug that was suddenly placed next to him. Inwardly, the raven haired omega smiled, knowing exactly who just happened to bring him his favourite tea.
"What cha readin?" the husky voice whispered in his ear, making a shiver go up Sasuke's spine. The omega within him heavily clawed at his senses, heightening his interest that went directly to his cock. Sasuke mentally scolded his omega for this, telling it that the library wasn't the place for such things.
"Hn," was all Sasuke could say, a smirk on his lips, while he continued to look down at the words on the page, pretending to ignore the alpha next to him. He heard the chair next to him move and the unmistakable movement of the alpha settling down to sit. His omega purred loudly now, catching the strong powerful scent of the alpha and Sasuke grumbled again at the omega to calm the fuck down.
"Almost done?" the alpha whispered again, the heat from his breath tickling Sasuke's ear and this time a warm hand had snuck onto Sasuke's thigh, giving it a squeeze.
Sasuke couldn't suppress his shivers this time as they rocked his shoulders and shook his spine. Where the alpha's warm hand laid on his thigh, it created sparks of raw heated excitement on his skin. Hissing, Sasuke turned his head, glaring directly into the blue eyed alpha that met his gaze with sparkled mirth and a soft grin.
Those crystal blue eyes, that dazzling smile, never failed to make butterflies in Sasuke's stomach flutter about. Too often he could feel the heat rising in his cheeks because of the blond, this in turnhad Sasuke turning to hide. But in these last few months, the omega had found himself able to trust the blond alpha more and more.
The yakuza had been nothing but a proper gentleman, patient, kind and protective. Just as he had been when Sasuke was healing. Never had Naruto pushed anything onto the omega, always actively listening, never arguing (well nothing serious that is), and alway letting Sasuke take the lead on everything they did. Even their apparent courtship was all at Sasuke's pace.
Slowly closing his book, Sasuke turned slightly to face the alpha and raised his smooth brows. The alpha was still grinning mischievously at him and Sasuke wanted to say he knew that look. He narrowed his eyes suspiciously at the yakuza alpha, "what are you thinking?"
Naruto held up his palms and grinned. "Nothing, honest," he whispered. He then leaned forward, his nose almost touching Sasuke's and his blue eyes twinkled. "I do, however, have a surprise for you." Naruto placed a quick peck on Sasuke's lips before pulling back with a grin. "Come, I'll help you pack up." He grinned as he rose, pulling Sasuke to his feet before they both began to clean up.
The setting sun created a twilight of beauty as the pair sat quietly in the car while Naruto drove. The alpha was humming quietly to himself to a tune on the radio and Sasuke watched the scenery go by. They were heading out of town, where the dull lights of the city started to disappear into the distance behind them.
Pulling over to a small building, bathed in soft lights, Sasuke looked around the area. The building appeared to be a small restaurant, with a rustic style to match the wooded area surrounding it. Naruto grasped his hand in the chill of the air and gently led him towards the front wooden steps that led up to wooden doors with large frosted windows. The fairy lights lit up the outside wooden deck that had various small chairs and windows nestled in the soft glowing lights.
Upon entering the small restaurant, the inside was decorated just like the outside, with rustic wooden features and small dining tables dotting the area. Small candles were on each of the tables, creating the same soft glow as it was outside. There didn't appear to be any customers in the area and Sasuke glanced at the blond alpha who stared ahead with a soft smile on his lips.
An elderly woman came out from around the corner, wearing a dark apron and wiping her hands on a small towel.
"Uzumaki-sama, welcome welcome!" the elderly woman exclaimed, a warm smile on her lips.
"Good evening," Naruto responded gently with a nod. "Reservation for two," he snickered.
"Oh posh Uzumaki-sama, always such a kidder. Come, come, I have your table ready," she giggled and waved her hand at him.
Again, Sasuke looked up at the blond yakuza, waiting for an explanation, but nothing came. Naruto had his ever warm hand on the small of his back, leading him around the corner from where the elderly woman had emerged.
The woman led the pair to a set of garden doors, then out onto a back patio, and Sasuke couldn't help but release a gasp at the sight.
"Do you like it?" Naruto whispered, still leading him slowly towards a small table that was set up for two. Two candles burned softly in the centre of it, flickering gently with a breeze.
Sasuke's eyes looked about the area. The entire back area of the restaurant was full of small trees, dotted with colourful flowers that were decorated in fairy lights. A quaint narrow stone pathway led to the table, lined with white stones and flowers. Sasuke inhaled deeply, taking in the scents of the green from the trees and grass, and fragrant scent of the flowers. In the air was also a hint of salt. "Is that the ocean?" Sasuke asked, listening carefully, hearing songs of crickets and frogs.
Naruto smiled as he pulled one of the chairs out and motioned for Sasuke to sit. "It's still a fair distance away, but you can sometimes hear the waves on a quiet night and usually smell the ocean."
Sasuke settled in his chair, his eyes still taking in the decor of the area while Naruto settled across from him. The elderly woman brought out a fine bottle of wine, offered each a glass and handed each of them a small menu. She provided a warm smile at both of them again before leaving the two alone.
Naruto leaned forward putting his elbows on the table and placing his chin in his hands. Sasuke smirked slightly at the sight, Naruto looked like a kid staring through the window of a candy store. Sasuke felt his face heat up and quickly brought the small menu up to cover his flushed face. The butterflies were back while the alpha continued to watch him with a goofy smile on his face and hum a soft tune.
Dinner was marvellous, they both enjoyed a small appetiser and Sasuke enjoyed the small fish plate he ordered, savouring every bite he took. Both indulged in small talk while they ate, drank and Sasuke's omega soaked in the lavish attention the alpha freely offered. The past few months with the blond alpha had been simply amazing, the attention Naruto bestowed upon him with each date, had left Sasuke's head swimming with overwhelming emotions.
A warm hand suddenly covering his brought Sasuke out of his musings and he looked up to see the soft candle light flickering gently upon the serious yet soft expression on the blond alpha. His omega was quick to respond to the touch, filling him with warmth and happiness that heated his cheeks and fluttered through his stomach.
"Walk with me?" Naruto asked gently, squeezing Sasuke's hand, waiting for the omega to respond. Sasuke nodded and the pair stood, Naruto placing his hand on the small of Sasuke's back, leading them between the trees.
The small stone walkway, twisted between the trees that were sparkling with the fairy lights draped through the branches. Torches also lined the walkway, creating a soft glow.
Looking up, Sasuke could see the stars twinkling down through the darkened sky. Seeing this, Sasuke found himself feeling strangely at peace. At the end of the stone walkway, there was a picket fence, with several benches lined along it, and on the other side of the fence was an open field that had no homes or businesses to block the view. The moon had risen in the distance and created a glow of light that reflected off the ocean that was far in the distance. Sasuke's breath hitched at the sight as Naruto gently directed him to sit on one of the benches.
"Sasuke," Naruto breathed out, holding the omega's hands who looked over at him. Sasuke turned to look at him, his dark eyes reflected the tiny lights from the trees, making the omega's eyes look like the star struck sky itself. Sasuke tilted his head slightly, his eyes asking a silent question. "I feel incredibly blessed to have met you, know you and court you, and — well," Naruto hesitated, biting on his bottom lip briefly as he struggled to find the right words.
Sasuke raised his eyebrows, feeling his anxiety rise when hearing the words of uncertainty–coming from the alpha's lips.
Naruto's hand unconsciously went up to the back of his neck, rubbing at it vigorously. "I really don't know how to do this —" Naruto grinned nervously at Sasuke.
Sasuke began to pull his hand back, when fear struck through his chest as thoughts of the most devastating assumptions began to filter through his mind. Was Naruto ending it with him? Was he not enough for the alpha? His omega began to worry with him, struggling with the sudden wave of uncertainty taking over the both of them.
"Wait, Sas —" Naruto suddenly stammered out when he felt the omega begin to pull his hand away. He quickly brought Sasuke's fingers up to his lips, his blue eyes glazed over while staring at the omega before him and he gently pressed kisses onto the omegas fingers. "Will you do me the honour of being my mate?"
Sasuke's breath was stolen from the question and his eyes dropped to his hand when the alpha placed a long velvet box in his palm. He couldn't stop looking at it, the stereotypical looking dark velvet box that normally held what those love sick stories always talked about, though this box was slightly longer than average. He glanced up at the alpha's face, those blue eyes shimmered in the soft lights, Naruto's lips were slightly parted as he waited for Sasuke to answer.
Sasuke's fingers trembled slightly as he rubbed his fingertips along the edges of the box, feeling its soft texture. "I—I," he whispered, the words stuck on the edge of his tongue.
The alpha quickly slipped his hand around the edges of the box, opening it slowly to expose the contents. Sasuke's eyes narrowed slightly to get a glimpse of the object in the shadows. His head jerked back slightly at the sight, before looking back up at those blue depths. "Wha–?"
Naruto smiled softly before lifting the object out of the box and placing it in his palm. The object shone in the beams of light upon the alpha's hand and Sasuke's eyes fell back upon it. "This is my gift to you," Naruto whispered.
"It's a key?" Sasuke managed to respond this time, his fingertips now touching the small shining object. It was made of brass, a large circular handle, and a long rod with a block of jagged teeth on the one end.
"With this key, it will open the restricted area in the library, which you will now have unlimited access to. It's where the most ancient and priceless historical documents, novels and more are stored." Naruto gently grasped Sasuke's hand and flipped his open palm onto Sasuke's, successfully transferring the brass key into the omega's open palm. "I know how much researching history means to you Sas, and — well, it makes you happy. Even if you don't accept me as a mate, this is yours. I want you to stay happy Sas, you deserve it." Naruto then grinned widely, moving his hands back to his lap.
Sasuke blinked repeatedly from the key, to the alpha's face, and back again. His heart was thudding so loudly in his chest and practically crawling up his throat. His emotions rushed and swirled in his mind, not knowing which emotion to stop on. "This —I — Naru—" Sasuke's lips wouldn't work. His omega pushed at his mental walls so forcefully that he felt nauseous.
He felt the familiar prickles of tears behind his eyes and a lump forming in his throat. Never had anyone taken Sasuke's passions or desires into such consideration, and here he was, startled into a stupor yet astounded that this alpha, this powerful and intimidating yakuza blond lord, was showing him personally that Sasuke was all that mattered to him. Not the Uchiha heir, not the simple omega that he was, but as Sasuke, as an actual person.
Naruto chuckled nervously while Sasuke was silent. He gnawed his bottom lip and nervously scratched at the back of his neck. "Of course, if you don't like it, that's okay too and mmph!"
Naruto's words were cut off when his arms and lips were unexpectedly smothered by the omega's sudden embrace. His shock was short lived as he eagerly responded to the inviting soft warmth of Sasuke's lips, pulling the omega in closer to deepen the kiss.
The omega straddled the blond's lap, his fingers tangled into Naruto's blond locks, scratching gently on his scalp in a way that had the alpha growling heatedly. The omega's tongue demanded a dance that Naruto was happy to comply with, suckling on Sasuke's warm wet appendage and leading the dance throughout the kiss while running his hands across Sasuke's back.
When Sasuke pulled back, his dark eyes hooded and shimmered with unshed tears. Naruto looked upon his flushed face briefly. He smiled and cupped his palm on Sasuke's heated cheeks, rubbing his thumb gently across the omega's cheek. "So, umm, will you be my mate?"
Sasuke blinked, smirked and then twisted his lips as if he was thinking of the next words to say. "Dobe," he chuckled. "Am I too subtle for you?" He leaned in towards the alpha's lips and ran his tongue along the pink plump lips, grinning inwardly when he heard the alpha gasp in surprise. He bit down onto the blond's bottom lip with his teeth, gently pulling it away with him before he let go and pulled back and returning a smile of his own. "I accept."
