She is absolutely beautiful, absolutely gorgeous and kind, too perfect, too good for me… James thought as he stared at Lily, who was sitting at an oak tree and gazing at the giant squid dancing in the lake, singing softly, in her oh-so-perfect voice. He stared at her, longing to hold her, to kiss her, to tell her how he really felt about her.

"I love you…" he whispered to her, even though he knew she could'nt hear him.

He wished he could walk right up to her and tell her she did'nt have to wait any longer, that he would kiss her now… that he had waited a lifetime for that kiss too. That smile, those lips… they made her so special, along with those peaceful green eyes, and thick, curly, red hair.

"I have to tell her, otherwise she'll never know" James Potter said to himself.

Everything changes, but beauty remains

He stood up and sighted. "Here goes the worst" he told himself. James walked over to her, while she sang the chorus. (second verse) His sneakers crunched in the grass, and as he made his way over to her, she apbruptly stopped singing. James saw as Lily listened for who it was, and, almost instantly, she whispered: "No,Potter"

He didn't listen to her and sat next to her. " You sing beautifully." James replied softly.

"Please go away Potter…" she whispered again.

" I will… I just want to tell you something first, and then I promise I will leave you alone" James began. He took a deep breath. " Lily, I love you"

She turned around and stared at him.

"Ever since I can remember, you were always, apart from beautiful, kind and generous ad sweet. I kinda enjoyed annoying by asking you out, well, because you looked even cuter when you were angry. I'm sorry I made you so mad. I just didn't know how to tell you my feelings until now" James said nervously. He made to stand up, but Lily pulled him down again, and to his surprise, she was smiling.

"I forgive you, James, I waiting for you to say that, I just didn't realize this until now but… I love you" Lily said, and ( unsurprisingly) she kissed him, fair and square on his lips.

"You were waiting for that, too?" James asked her with a smirk.

"Just in case your big head doesn't get it, then yes" Lily replied. She grabbed his shirt and pulled him close, for another kiss.

Could this be the greatest love of all?
