6 years later…
There was a sudden attack on the Cykrease kingdom, Trolls were emerging from the outskirts. There were a lot of Cykreasian soilders already fighting them, they were putting up a good fight but they needed backup since there were a lot of Trolls that were still coming.
One of the Troll captains, Sparks the Recolor managed to get one Cykreasian captain in a corner. Pinning him on a nearby tree
"Damn you, I won't go down so easily!" the captain said before setting his entire body ablaze, knocking back the Troll. Then he primed his arm and let out a stream of fire towards it, the Troll however activated a shield which blocked it with success.
"You can't win Cykreasian, but if you surrender I will consider letting you live"
"Damn it…" the captain was out of energy, that wasn't good
The Troll charged at him again, with an intent to kill
OST: Slush Invaders – Slusher stage
Before he could land the killing blow he felt someone kicking him in the face so hard that it sent him flying towards a rock that was nearby. The Troll crashed on it, cracks appearing on the sides of the hole.
"You just don't get it do you?"
The Troll jumped out of the hole and looked at the new opponent
"You…"
The Troll observed the attacker once more before recognizing him, it was Tobias
Tobias smirked
"Nobody attacks my kingdom and gets away with it!"
Tobias was now 16 years old, he looked almost the same he did when he was 10, his clothes were also the same with an exception of him now wearing an orange sleeveless shirt instead of a vest. He also had black bands on his wrists and biceps. Another feature he added was a thick leather belt that has a silver buckle, on the left and right side of the belt were small bags with support items in them.
Another noticeable feature on Tobias was a new white gold chain around his neck, when he was 15 he was helping around the outskirts as a freelance job so he managed to earn a significant amount of money. That fact amazed both his grandparents, their grandson was smarter than they thought
With the money he earned he decided to give himself a "makeover" (as he called it), he went to the center of the kingdom and went to a few shops. 2 hours later he came back home, the first thing Victor noted was that he didn't change much. Tobias said he didn't want to change anything regarding his lower body and that he thinks he did a good job, to which Victor cringed while Rachael chuckled
"You will pay for standing in the way of Trolls!" Sparks proclaimed
"He ain't alone!"
At that moment Jake rock-surfed near Tobias and Alviss appeared in a pillar of fire
"No matter how many of you gather, you can't defeat us!"
"Why don't we put that to a test?" Tobias smirked as he entered his blue gate, turquoise lines making their way up his torso towards his face
Sparks charged towards Tobias, Tobias just smirked and jumped on the nearby tree. After that he covered his body in lightning and charged towards the Troll, it looked like an ethereal charging towards him.
"Lightning impulse!" Tobias proclaimed
The Troll managed to block it but could feel the shock on his body, he knew he couldn't last for much longer. Sparks then released the energy shield causing a shockwave which knocked Tobias back
Tobias however managed to charge enough lightning in his right hand to release it towards the enemy, he released it in a thunder-looking blast which dealt direct damage to Sparks. The explosion made him fly towards a tree but bounced off from it before he made contact
Sparks had little time to recover as he saw Tobias curled in a ball in the sky, spinning forwardly with lightning orb-like energy around him. The Troll captain knew that technique, therefore he knew Tobias would dash towards him at any moment
"Lightning meteor!" Tobias proclaimed before he dashed full-speed towards the Troll, causing a big explosion of lightning energy to erupt
Meanwhile Jake and Alviss were fighting other Trolls and Eggman robots, Alviss was a fire type so Jake punched the ground causing several boulders to emerge. Alviss engulfed them with his flames and Jake kicked them like football balls one by one towards Eggman's robots, they liked to call that move "Meteor crash". The meteors created big explosions on contact, a single meteor managed to take out everything in the radius of 15 meters.
They took out half of the robots in that attack, Jake already started cheering
"Aww yeah, we kickin' ass real hard today!" Jake said extending his fist towards Alviss, Alviss just looked at him with a serious expression
"Don't relax yet Jake, there is another horde of them coming"
"Actually, they are already here!"
Jake turned around and saw a troll already priming his fist, ready to strike. Jake created a thick rock layer all over his right arm before blocking the punch, Jake's rocky hand held the fist until the troll felt the ground below him suddenly getting hot
After a second fire consumed him whole, it was bursting from the ground upwards, the troll was screaming in pain
"Flame pillar" Alviss proclaimed
That attack was so strong it sent the troll flying upwards by 10 meters, Alviss primed his palm and charged a big fireball in it fow a few seconds before shooting it towards the troll. It hit him causing an explosion to occur, the explosion grazed Jake a bit and the troll was sent flying in the distance
"Oh come on, watch where you shoot that Alviss! It almost hit me!" Jake complained
"You're an earth type Jake, create a shield or something" Alviss answered
The troll, didn't give up as he shot another ray of energy towards the boys, Jake created an earth wall that was strong enough to protect them. The beam made contact and exploded, the wall was blasted to bits by the explosion, however the boys were unharmed.
The troll charged at them again, this time Jake put one of his palms on the ground
"Earth fist!"
When he said that a fist-looking rock emerged from the ground and was stretching it's way towards the Troll, the troll jumped in the air and started charging an energy ball in both hands. Jake wasn't done, he summoned 3 more earth hands with balled fists on it's endings and they stretched towards the troll, the troll fired the energy ball towards the fists causing them to collide. The fists didn't get destroyed right away since they were powered with Jake's energy, Jake tried his best to overpower it but he knew he couldn't last for long, he even started sweating.
Alviss decided to interfere, getting below the Troll and priming his left arm, after 2 seconds a stream of fire was unleashed and headed straight towards the troll. The troll was too busy trying to overpower Jake's attack so he wasn't able to see the stream of fire coming right towards him, when he notices it was too late. The stream reached him, engulfing him in the process, the pain he felt made him lose focus thus disabling the energy ball. The rock fists made their way towards the troll and hit them full force, one hit him in the right hand, one in the left leg and the final one hit him in torso. Making him spit blood on the rocky hand as it sent him flying in the air, he was flying until he couldn't be seen anymore.
"Your flamethrower's real handy pal!" Jake commented with a smile
"You're welcome" Alviss said with a cheeky smile
At that moment Jake's communicator started beeping, Jake pressed it
"Yo! How're y'all holding up?" they immediately recognized the voice, it was Tobias
"Hey man, we took out half of Eggman's robots. A troll attacked us as well but nothing we couldn't beat!"
"How are you holding up?" Alviss approached Jake and spoke to the communicator
"I'm all good, I just killed the troll captain! There are more of Eggman's robots coming, gotta go!"
That was the last thing Tobias said before the connection went off
OST: Devil May Cry 2 - A Prayer for Goddess
"I see you're done here"
The boys turned around and spotted an adult Cykreasian approaching them, he had long grey fur on his head reaching his back, light skin and blue spirally eyes. He was wearing an emerald green jacket and navy blue jeans, below the jeans were white sneakers.
It was Alan, he was one of Vic's students before Vic and Emily's deaths. After Vic and Emily died he, Oliver and Iris were taken under Malicious's wing, more precisely, in his squad.
Alan was a talented wind user, he was intelligent, serious, calm and focused. His skills were also exceptional, when Vic trained them 16 years ago Alan was the only one of the 3 students who was able to even scratch him. Oliver and Iris thought of it as an impossible feat, however Alan was able to do that every time they trained. Vic expected Oliver and Alan to be the perfect candidates to inherit his throne in case something happened to him, speaking of which, when the kingdom was finished building Vic wrote a testament which said:
"If something were to happen to me, I want 80% of my money to be used for the kingdom funds and development. As for the other 20% I want them to be given to my family so they can have a normal life without fearing poverty"
After his death, his wish was granted. 20% of his money went to his parents which they used to buy the house close to the outskirts and raise their grandson, Mal and Irene also supported them with sharing a third of their monthly paychecks to help them.
While in Mal's squad Oliver, Iris and Alan grew even stronger than they were with Vic. Oliver and Alan were even competing and swore to battle for the throne one day, Oliver wasn't nearly as talented as his teammate but Mal saw a big potential inside of him. His bright and outgoing attitude was really important, with a lot of training his strength would be able to balance those traits (as Mal put it).
OST: Sonic Adventure 2 – Final Chase
6 years after Vic's death Oliver, Iris and Alan were each 19 years old. They were assigned on a very dangerous mission which included infiltrating one of Eggman's largest ships, the goal was to steal the artificial emeralds from Eggman in order to use them to power up weapons of the Cykrease kingdom.
Not only was the ship one of the largest but there were also some of Eggman's most powerful robots along with members of the Black Moon, the mission was very risky however Oliver was the one who convinced Alan and Iris to take it. He said they were doing it for master Vicious but more importantly, for the kingdom.
The three got on the ship, there weren't many problems on the beginning but as the mission carried on they started facing more powerful robots. They managed to defeat them but they were getting tired, they were close to the room that contained the artificial emeralds. They thought the mission was going to be a success, however their hopes would not last for long.
Just when they were about to enter the room someone shot an energy ball in front of the door, causing the team to fall back and wait for the dust to clear out. When it did it showed one of the Black Moon colonels, a troll Vic and Emily thought back when Cassandra and Tia were still alive, Trolleshi.
Mac brought Trolleshi back to life and apologized for discarding of him back then, it took some time for Trolleshi to forgive him however in the end they managed to make their relationship grow. Mac helped him become stronger alongside Cykreeus, over time Cykreeus promoted him to one of the strongest Colonels of the Black Moon.
"You thought it would be that easy huh?" Trolleshi said
"Yeah, but you're not gonna make this easy, are you?" Alan asked
"I'm the colonel of the Black Moon, how could I face Cykreeus or Mac if I let you steal the emeralds?!"
"Heh, don't think we're scared of you! We're gonna kick your ass and make this mission a success!" Oliver stated with a smirk, his body already engulfed in his own fire
Trolleshi didn't waste any time as he began shooting energy blasts towards the trio, Alan summoned 2 wind spheres in his hands and connected them causing a gust of wind to emerge forward. The gust was so strong it stopped the energy balls from their paths and sent them back towards Trolleshi, Trolleshi jumped and avoided them. However, the energy balls were able to destroy the wall that held the artificial emeralds behind. After a few seconds, a room was revealed that contained a lot of capsules, computer screens, artificial emeralds and robots.
Oliver was the first one to start running towards it, Iris used her water element to pin Trolleshi to the ceiling and freeze the water. The ice was strong thanks to Iris's energy so even Trolleshi had a hard time breaking out of it right away, a few robots attacked Oliver on entrance.
Oliver sent several yellow energy orbs towards the robots
"Firefly: Burst!" Oliver proclaimed before all the orbs exploded causing the robots to get engulfed in fire
After a second they exploded, Oliver passed through them, took out a sack he hid in his pocket and unfolded it. He ran over to the artificial emeralds and started packing them in a fast pace, Alan was helping him the entire time. After they managed to fill more than half of the sack with the artificial emeralds a scream was heard from their right side, Oliver immediately rushed back where he came from as Alana quickly tied the sack and followed him.
They found Trolleshi holding Iris by her neck, she was beaten and bloody, she had blood coming down from both sides of her mouth and nose and the right side of her forehead. In his other hand he charged a red energy ball, ready to blast her head off.
Before he could do that however Oliver appeared hear him with a fireball in his palm, he shoved his palm in Trolleshi's torso, sending him flying towards a wall. Before he could hit it Oliver snapped his finger causing the fireball to explode, causing copious amount of fire to emerge in a firework-like fashion
"Firework" Oliver stated the name of his attack before checking on Iris who was now on the ground
"Iris, are you okay?" Oliver held her by her back and the back of her head
"I'm okay, don't worry, I can heal myself" Iris said before engulfing her body in green water, the water type Cykreasians had an ability to heal themselves by extracting the healing properties of water. However a great mastery of the element was required in order to learn that technique, Iris was very skilled in her element so it wasn't a problem for her.
After 20 seconds her wounds were gone but she was still nowhere near her full strength, in the meantime Alan was fighting Trolleshi. Even though Alan was strong Trolleshi managed to put up an amazing fight, Oliver went to help Alan the moment Iris healed herself.
"Air cutter!" Alan released 4 wind blades that flew towards Trolleshi, Trolleshi was able to repel 3 of them with his energy beams but the fourth grazed him on the right side of his face. Causing blood to splash out from the cut and a few drops to ooze down his right cheek, Trolleshi wasn't fazed as he curled into a ball and flew towards Alan. Alan wasn't able to predict it since Trolleshi was too fast so not only did he get hit by Trolleshi's spindash attack but Trolleshi pushed him all the way to the wall, causing Alan to crash on it and cough out large amounts of blood
"ALAN!" Oliver yelled as he covered his body in fire once again and flew over to help his comrade
Oliver put his hands up until they got covered in fiery phoenix-like wings, after that he joined his hands and pointed them towards Trolleshi. A small phoenix-like energy form flew towards him
"Fiery Bird Missile!" Oliver proclaimed
Trolleshi dropped Alan and created a shield to protect himself from the missile, the missile exploded but Trolleshi's shield was strong enough to ensure Trolleshi was unharmed. Oliver didn't stop there however, he charged fire energy in his left arm before shooting a blast of fire towards his opponent.
"Burning wave!" Oliver proclaimed
Iris and Alan have meanwhile recovered and were ready to help Oliver, after Trolleshi shot another beam of energy and knocked Oliver back he descended on the ground. This time, Trolleshi ascended to his second form, the 3 Cykreasians prepared themselves to attack him again
1 hour later…
Trolleshi was on his knees, breathing heavily, he underestimated the trio. They proved stronger than he anticipated, the trio however was also beaten, they were barely standing
Trolleshi however stood up again, and primed his hand, then he charged an energy ball in it.
"Heheheheh, you really thought you could take me down? You got another thing coming…I'm gonna kill you all"
He pointed his arm towards Iris, his ball fully charged and ready to fire
"Starting with you, Cykreasian whore!"
This immediately caught Oliver's attention as he stared in horror at what was Trolleshi about to do, he didn't have much energy left however he knew he could try and save Iris from it
"IRIS!" Oliver rushed towards her in the same moment Trolleshi fired his beam, Oliver grabbed her arm and tossed her to the side. However he had no time to move as the beam reached him, it engulfed him whole and he could already feel his body burning
"OLIVER!" Iris and Alan yelled in unison, Iris summoned water sharks from the ground which attacked Trolleshi, distracting him so the beam was stopped. Alan went after Trolleshi again while Iris rushed to Oliver's side to check his wounds, as soon as she did that her face turned to the one of horror and dread.
OST: Final Fantasy 5 - Nostalgia
Oliver's entire right side was burned beyond recognition, the other half of his body was covered in blood and 3rd degree burns. It was obvious the beam did more damage to his right side, probably because it reached it first.
"Iris…I'm sorry…but I don't…think I'm…gonna…make it…" Oliver said in a weak tone, he was already on the verge of death
"No, please don't say that! I will heal you! You're gonna be fine!" Iris's eyes were already full of tears, threatening to fall
"Reinforcements…should arrive…soon…Iris…take the sack…with the emeralds…and run…don't bother…carrying me…I will just…slow you down…there are…probably…more enemies…aside from…Trolleshi…"
"No, please Oliver! I love you! There must be a way to save you!" Iris began sobbing as she said that
"I…love you…too…but…you know…there isn't…please…just…run" Oliver knew he didn't have long
"I finally…get so see…master Vic…and Emily…again…at least…" Oliver said while coughing up blood
"And it won't be just you!" Iris turned at the new voice, it was Trolleshi, he already charged another beam and was ready to shoot
"Gale Palm!" Alan said before shoving it in Trolleshi's torso, sending him flying and crashing into a wall
"Iris, take the emeralds and run! If this mission fails Oliver's sacrifice will be for nothing!" Alan demanded
"He's right…Iris…just…GO…" Oliver barely managed to speak
At that moment someone ran into the room, those were the reinforcements from Black Moon
Iris spread her hands and in each of them gathered icy aura before shooting it at them, creating an ice beam which froze every single member. Her rage made the ice even stronger
"FREEZE RAY!" Iris proclaimed before shooting it
She looked at Oliver once more before taking the sack and jumping out of the ship with a hole she created with her ice punch
She didn't have to worry about landing since there was water below her, as a water type she could manipulate the flow of water at her will. She raised a water sphere that caught her while she was falling and directed it towards the land that wasn't far
"Damn it! She took the emeralds!" Trolleshi was ready to go after her, but once again Alan attacked him and prevented him in doing so
"Damn you…you killed my best friend…you won't get away with this!" Alan said before powering up, he reached a new form which he called the Typhon Eye
As the name suggested it, Alan's body was covered in a spinning wind, his right eye was glowing in silver color. In that form his wind powers were greatly increased, however it had one significant drawback.
In that form he couldn't see anything or anyone that was further than 5 meters, however he couldn't dwell on it now. He charged Trolleshi and his entire world went black
OST: One Piece – If you live
Alan slowly opened his eyes and all he could see was the vast blue sky above him, it was so clear it didn't even have a single cloud on it.
"Am I…dead?" Alan wondered
He looked at the side and saw Malicious sitting near him
"Ah, you're finally awake" Mal said with relief
"General Mal, what happened?" Alan got up
"You managed to put up a good fight against Trolleshi, you even made him retreat. However the reinforcements broke out of Iris's ice and attacked you, I made it just in time to save you. However, they took Oliver's corpse with them, I couldn't catch up to them. I'm sorry" Mal said solemnly
"Iris…where is she?" Alan asked demandingly
Mal pointed his finger behind him, Alan turned and saw her sitting against the tree still sobbing over her boyfriend's loss
"I'm sorry I couldn't save him Alan, if only I made it sooner…"
Alan also frowned, he moved towards the edge of a cliff they were on and stared at the seemingly endless sea as waves crashed upon the cliff. He recalled all the memories the team had spent together, their master and his wife Emily, their funeral, Oliver's promise to become the new king, the missions they went on together. It all ended with Iris holding his half-scorched corpse in her arms
These thoughts made tears come down Alan's face as he came to a realization
His best friend was gone, they could never live those memories with him again
At least he was glad he could go to the afterlife and meet their master again, silently he wished for Oliver to send them his regards
OST: Sonic Adventure 2 – Aquatic Mine
Alan took out his communicator and contacted someone, he began speaking
"Astrid, William, how are you holding up?"
"We're fine master, we took out our part of enemies"
"Hmph, nothing I couldn't handle" William said in a smug tone
"Do you really have to be so arrogant William?" Astrid asked
"That's enough you two, listen up. We also cleared our part, return to the base, we will be here in case something happens" Alan demanded
"Whatever" William said before the line went off
After Tobias graduated CFA all students were assigned to teams each with it's own mentor, Tobias really hoped he would get paired with Jake or Alviss since they were his best friends. He was quite annoyed to find out he would be teamed up with William and Astrid.
William and Tobias had a complicated relationship, William was arrogant, self-centered and boastful (like Astrid stated) and he and Tobias would get in fights often. However they were friends, it was just that their friendship wasn't nearly on the same level he had with Jake, Alviss and Zoe
William was a dark type Cykreasian with black fur that was long on his head and reached his shoulders and had purple spirally eyes. His skin was light, he was wearing white pants, indigo blue long-sleeved t-shirt and dark brown shoes
Astrid wasn't someone he hated but he didn't like her much either, their relationship began as rocky but over time it got neutral. She was sometimes too emotional and impulsive, she was also bossy, sassy, opinionated and short-tempered. She considered Tobias a hot-headed idiot and would often berate him for any mistakes he made, Tobias, who was also hot-headed and sassy would often get in fights with her because of that. Tobias would also consider her a bratty bitch
Despite all that however, their relationship was better than the one Tobias has with William
Astrid was a wind type Cykreasian and had green fur that wasn't long on her head, it did reach her shoulders but didn't go further. She had light skin and brown spirally eyes, she was wearing a pink sleeveless shirt, red pants and yellow shoes
At first, Tobias and William got into fights a lot, even Alan had to separate them a few times. Astrid had a crush on William but William didn't care about her at all, he would even start yelling at her and Tobias would often have to defend her from him. That's when Astrid began holding Tobias in an higher esteem, she realized that even though he could be an idiot at times he indeed had a kind heart.
Alan knew Tobias was his master's son but he didn't mention anything to him due to it being taboo, even if it wasn't he would choose not to in order to prevent their enemies from finding out. The sole purpose of black moon was to take over the kingdom and later the world, if they found out Tobias was the son of their greatest enemy they would certainly try anything in order to end him.
As a master, Alan was strict but fair, he had high expectations of his students. However he didn't do that in order to torture them but to prepare them for the harsh world that awaited them, he saw huge potential in both Tobias and William. That's why he wanted to train them personally (he was also honored to train his master's son)
"Jake, Alviss, where's Tobias?" Alan asked
"He's on the other side of the forest, dealing with the rest of the Eggman's army" Jake said
"All right, you two go and get him. We're done here, I got the word that Trolls are retreating. If something happens again we will be ready" Alan stated before he turned around and walked away in the forest
Jake activated his communicator again
"Yo, Tobias, how you doin'? Jake asked
"Hey, I just cleared them all. Man, I'm actually tired, I would really use a beer later on" Tobias said
"Sure thing bud, we gotta return to the base to report first but later we could go for one huh?"
"Hell yah! See ya!" Tobias said before the line cut off
"Let's go Jake, we have no time to waste" Alviss said before starting to walk to the direction where the base was, Jake had no choice but to follow
Chapter 9, done! Damn, this one really took out a lot from me. I know Alan's backstory took a large portion of this chapter but I decided to wrap it up in a single chapter so I wouldn't have to worry about it later.
So, Tobias is now 16 years old, I plan to keep it that way for the majority of the story. I also used a small portion of the story to introduce Tobias's teammates, before you ask, yes, Oliver is an Obito reference. Vic's students are also references to Kakashi, Obito and Rin
This one sure was more action packed than the previous ones, I will make sure it stays that way from now on.
