The filler chapter:
Authors' Notes: Um, sorry people, while I was looking through my files for the first chapter… I realized that I don't have it. We wrote this story while at another friend's house and…um; we never really saved it.
I don't suppose that any of our loyal fans…er, um, maybe not 'fans' exactly, saved it…did you?
Thus, this filler.
One other thing though: This is the general plotline and our point in making it. If you flame us beyond this point (one, you apparently are going to hell already for making it this far) and (two, you can't read…which makes us question why you are on a site about…reading…fiction…anyhoo…)
"Harry From Da Hood (Yo)" is a "poorly written" (direct review from the lovely jenova101…) "what if" fic about what if Harry Potter had been black instead?
If you think that all these jokes about trying to be 'gangsta' and fried chicken are racial, it's only because people take them that way.
We're not trying to poke fun at African-Americans. What we're laughing at is the stupid stereotypes people have about them. (Which is why the sequel is the 'cracker' story that the wonderful ShanniC didn't get to where Harry becomes a fat, white, middle-aged man…thrilling, isn't it?)
Just keep that in mind, we're poking fun at the stereotype, not the actual people. After all, I'd probably never read anything again that involves the stereotypical nerd…but I know that's not directed at me, but at the stereotype instead.
Anyhoo, I guess I'm done soapboxing for now. If you still feel the need to flame our story after this point, we guess that we can't stop you (damn the need to switch between the two of us typing). Of course, if all you do is complain about how this story is racial, then we know that you didn't read this filler chapter and thus your comments mean nothing. (And yes, we know that canon does not exist in any way, shape, or form in this fic.)
On a brighter note, if you find this story amusing, let us know. If you don't, don't bother, we already know that probably 99.8 of people who stumble across this probably think that one of us belongs in the KKK or something. If you are African-American and can laugh at this story because of how badly we've stereotyped the stereotypes, we've done our jobs.
That's it. The first 'real' chapter should be coming soon and maybe some people will even read it…and laugh.
