Chapter 14

He couldn't understand it… and yet the more he fought her… the more…

His head was splitting from the notion. "What the hell is going on with me? That should have been an easy victory!" he protested to himself. It really should have been, and yet, he lost? How could he lose to a woman like that!

"I mustn't have had my full power as the knockoff said… he must have weakened me…"

But the strikes he felt from Tooru, they were worthy of his strength, but how did she obtain something like that? He knows the situation of her circumstance, he knows she was brought back to life, but to have that kind of curse energy? Not to mention, how it flowed around her, it wasn't the same as his. In fact…

"GAH!" his head pulsed again.

Whatever he tried to recall, refused to be called upon. "Why is it familiar to me!?"

But no answers came.

He could reminiscence everything in his life more or less, without flaw. But… trying to remember this particular thought, was painful. "What is blocking this? Why are these thoughts coming and going as they please?"

There has to be a curse upon him, and not just the one on his heart either. The brat must have done something or the knock off!

The more he thought about it, the more he began to believe that those two brats did something to empower the Tooru. Yet the more he thought about it, the more his mind wondered.

"It has to be it, they gave her a boost before our fight!" he said in a convincing tone to himself.

And yet, there was doubt in his head. 'No, that never happened, she was truly that strong'

Instantly, he froze to this new notion in his mind. What he has tried to convince himself of… was countered by another thought!?

"How can she be that powerful…" he muttered.

'Because she is a Tooru, you of all should know better than that'

"Am I arguing with my own brain!?" he roared aloud. "I know what I saw, I know that wasn..." he stopped himself. He couldn't convince his own mind that what he saw was no less a lucky shot on Tooru's part. And yet… she did best him. No one on this world could do such a thing, not since the brats became dragons. But how did she do it?

He HAS to know!

Turning back, he stormed over as Yua appeared to be basking in the praise of those around her. "You really held your ground, way to go!" Six eyes stated.

"It was a great feat of strength Yua, you should be very proud of yourself." Choso said with great passion.

Yua however wasn't smiling about her victory. "There… there's just something wrong about this. I know what Suiryu said made sense to me, and yet… I don't think that's it."

"I knew it, you cheated!" Sukuna protested.

"Really? You are going to call her a cheater after getting your ass handed to you?" the knockoff protested. "She beat you fair and square, she just doesn't know how herself. But I do admit, as the fight went on, she was taking in more energy… in fact… hmm…" the knockoff named Suiryu paused oddly, he stared at Tooru curiously. "You said you became possessed before right for a moment to mess with him, right?"

"Possessed?" Sukuna demanded. "What possessed you? You were merely a dragon vessel and that effect is no longer part of your structure. Spiritual possession… is even more difficult to accomplish…"

Yua glared at him, but kept silent on the matter.

"Yua?" Suiryu asked of her gently.

"I don't want to speak of it, but I was possessed by an ancestor, she… said she gave me her technique, I don't know what it was."

Technique…

Technique!

That's why it was familiar, it was a technique he had seen before and yet… this was a very odd one, very rare too.

"Do you have any idea?" Six eyes asked of him.

He tried to think, but as he did, that spitting headache returned. "Tch… no…" he muttered as he hid his pained look from the masses. "If it's from a Tooru, then the technique is strong."

"No shit, but what was it?" Suiryu demanded.

Not even Sukuna knew, nor did he care at this point. The answer wasn't as simple as he thought it was.

Such a shame.

But there will be time to explore this later… as soon as he secures his vessel.

"Well since you are still here and we got some building skills under your belt, come along man servant. I have use for you!" Suiryu said as he bore a rather smart ass grin.

"What…" Sukuna muttered.

"Well, I am getting married, a lot sooner than later. Can't keep mom waiting and can't keep grandma in law waiting for grandkids, so I am going to speed the whole thing up. You are going to help me set up the venue!"

"I've done your bidding for days and I am still ordered to do so!" Sukuna protested.

"What part of under my command don't you get?" Suiryu snapped back and then looked a little… evil. "Now, come with me to help set up. Mom is bringing company and we got to have enough seats for everyone."

He sneered at the notion; Suiryu is rather determined to ensure his misery.
