While Joe and the rest of the committee were holding their meeting, some of the younger Greenworlders were also holding a council of war. In a similar manner to Joe's elevation to informal head of state, leadership had settled onto the three eldest Lance offspring – plus Dan Rory and Emma Paxton. While the older generation knew that their off-spring – those born on Greenworld – were in tune with the planet in a way they could never quite manage, there was a lot that they didn't know. Over time, a planet-wide network had been quietly developing – youngsters from one settlement passed information to youngsters from the next, they got together to discuss as well as to hunt., Over time, they had decided on one thing. The A.R.G.U.S. base had to go. It had never been decided when that was going to happen – until this present incident.
Len Lance looked at Dan Rory, who was just finishing telling them out a plan he'd concocted, based on something he'd seen in the great grass plains.
''After that, there won't be anything left of the base but wreckage'' he sounded happy.
''All the A.R.G.U.S. people have personal breach devices, don't they?'' Len asked, brushing minds with his sister Laura, who was also not too happy about the risk of deaths on the base.
Dan thought so. ''They should be able to breach to safety'' he added.
''One of us should be able to ask a parent about that – casually'' Mike added. ''If they can escape, there shouldn't be more than a few injuries – and we can live with that''.
Len glanced at his twin, thinking it was natural that he sided with Dan, who'd recently become his lover. He and Laura telepathed privately for a moment, then the meeting put it to a vote.
They were going to give Joe's group a chance. If it didn't work, their plan would go ahead.

Jax could heard water running in the bathroom. Quietly he opened the door. He could see Stephanie's outline through the shower curtain. He grinned, quickly slipped out of his clothes, grinning again as he eased the shower curtain aside - and woke up -.
He groaned, not too softly, before he remembered he wasn't alone. He glanced at the tangle of dark hair, but he hadn't disturbed her. That had been quite a night.
So why was he dreaming about his ex-wife?
If he wanted to remember anything, it should be how angry she'd been when he'd first mentioned Ray's offer of a job in Kaznia. She hadn't even tried to understand what an opportunity it was, just talked a lot about patriotism (both her parents had been in the forces before they drifted into the Survivalist movement).
''Why can't the US and Kaznia work together?'' he'd argued. She hadn't listened.
Life had turned out to be pretty good here. He had a good salary, a good apartment, a great car. He hadn't lacked for female company - and he'd been talking with the woman next to him about her moving in with him full time.
So why had Rip Hunter's visit left him feeling unsettled? Like there was something missing from his life - like it wasn't what it was supposed to be?

Bell - the then Deputy Director of A.R.G.U.S. - had been through, Ulrickssen thought. He'd just listened to over an hour of recordings taken when Bell had been interrogating Snart. Chapter and verse and pretty damming stuff. Or it would have been if there had been a law against using telepathy to take control of people's minds - it would have been a long stretch to call it brainwashing.
The final decision had been - you helped to save us - now get lost.
He smiled coldly, not in the mood for sympathy. The recordings - coupled with the man's criminal record - should be enough to destroy his credibility as a witness in any future investigation.
And the woman - Saffron James Allen? Snart's eldest daughter. He opened her file. She worked as a therapist, and she appeared to be clean. Yes, she had her father's original abilities, but therapists tended to be pretty intuitive. And, apparently, low level psychic abilities were more common than some people realised.
He had thought of using her as leverage against her father, but the woman's mother - Dinah Drake -= had allies in Washington. Including Senator Queen.
He opened Sara Lance's file instead.

Cisco had wandered down to the beach, needing some space to think about his future. Or more specifically, about the future for Olivia Hall and him.
''Do you really want to marry an off-worlder?'' Caitlin had asked him, not long ago, and he could see his adoptive sister's point. On her visits to Greenworld, Olivia never went outside the village without he, or Lisa, or one of her other friends along - she hadn't been here often enough to have learnt to avoid all the dangers.
On the other hand, he liked her better than any of the locally born girls.
''At least, better than the ones you've met'' Caitlin added, then had another thought. ''You're Earth 1 doppelganger married Leonard's sister, didn't he?''
Strike that idea out - Lisa was nice, but she wouldn't do something like that to her friend Olivia. Laura was not really his type.
He broke off in mid-step and mid-thought. About fifty yards in front of him, the Greenworld equivalent of a dolphin was lying half-in and half-out of the water. He started moving again, at a quicker rate - the two species got on well. He slowed down a bit when he realised it was sick rather than stranded. He came to a dead stop when it looked at him with unfriendly eyes, lifted its head and snarled - actually snarled - at him.
