Chapter 7: The shining Victory
Trent found himself on one side of the battlefield, the battlefield looks filled with small grass and some trees around the middle of the battling arena. After one defeat and one victory, he knows he has the momentum on his side but a small mistake can lead to him knockout
"This will be a two-on-two battle between Trent Fernandez of Eterna City, and Nathan Harris of Sunyshore City. It will be over when either side's Pokémon cannot continue battling. If one Pokémon is knocked out, then the match will continue as a two-on-one. This match will be held in a Grass field. Both trainers will send out their Pokémon at my command. Are both trainers ready?"
"Yes!" Nathan and Trent said together.
"Begin!" The ref shouted, raising his flags.
"Ampharos, Charizard let's go!" Nathan shouted. He threw two Pokeballs, releasing a Light and Flame Pokemon
"Drapion, Poliwrath, I choose you!" Trent shouted. He threw two Pokeballs, and the Tadpole and Ogre Scorp Pokémon appeared, ready for battle.
"Damn it, An Electric type, Rain Dance won't be useful as of now" Trent grinned
"Ampharos, Thunderbolt of Poliwrath, Charizard, If Drapion intercept, hit it with Flamethrower", Nathan commands
"Poliwrath, Mud Bomb on that Thunderbolt!, Drapion, User Aqua Tail on Charizard!" Trent countered.
Ampharos releases a powerful bolt of yellow lightning from its body at the Poliwrath, who opens its mouth and fires multiple balls of brown mud at the incoming electric attack, canceling it. Drapion's tail becomes surrounded by a light blue aura, with water swirling around the tip, and it cuts the stream of fire from Charizard and hit it on the chest knocking it to the ground.
"Charizard, try to get up. Ampharos, Use Light Screen", Nathan, tries to play a little protective
"Poliwrath, use Mud Bomb again, Drapion, use Pin Missile," Trent said
Ampharos puts its hands in front of its body and a yellow glass-like screen of energy appears in front of it and Charizard. Poliwrath opens its mouth and fires multiple balls of brown mud at Ampharos and Charizard. Drapion's claws glow white and are raised above its head, where a thin, white line forms and connects them. Drapion thrusts its claws forward and shoots white streams of pins. Both attacks hit a yellow screen cutting their power in half and dealing less damage.
"Charizard, In the air, use Aerial Ace on Poliwrath, Ampharos, use Fire Punch of Drapion" Nathan command
"Poliwrath, use Hydro Pump, Drapion, counter with Aqua Tail," Trent said
Charizard flies in the air and its body becomes surrounded by white streaks of energy it flies down towards Poliwrath, whose swirl on its stomach glows light purple and it releases a powerful stream of water from in the middle of it at the Charizard. Charizard, with great agility, dodges the strong water-type attack and slams into Poliwrath, causing it great damage with a super-effective attack. On the other side of the battlefield, Ampharos holds out its fist and its hand turns red. Its hand then bursts into flames and it punches the Drapion, who countered with its tail, which is now surrounded in a light blue aura, with water swirling around the tip. Drapion gained the upper hand due to type advantage and hit Ampharos but causes little damage.
"Damn!, I was thinking about Ampharos but that Charizard is not easy to take down, I have to think of another plan," Trent thought, "Poliwrath, use Hypnosis on Charizard, Drapion, use Dark Pulse on Ampharos" Trent commanded.
Poliwrath's eyes glow purple, and it releases multiple waves of energy from its face at Charizard. Drapion fires a beam of black and purple rings of energy from its mouth at the Ampharos.
"Ampharos, use Thunder, Charizard, User Air Slash", Nathan shouted, He knows he can't stretch battle very long now
Ampharos releases a yellow electrical blast from its body at the incoming Dark Pulse. Both attacks collided in the middle of the field, creating a small cloud of smoke and dust. On the other hand, Charizard's wings glow light blue. It then flaps its wings, firing multiple light-blue, glowing blades of energy from them at waves of psychic energy. The blades go through the waves and hit Poliwrath right in the face. Poliwrath falls to the ground with black spirals in his eyes. Meanwhile, Charizard is also hit by Hypnosis, causing him to sleep and fall to the ground.
"Poliwrath is unable to battle, this match will continue as a two-on-one!" The ref shouted.
Trent recalled his fallen Pokemon and continue the battle. He knows that now he has to move on the offense or he is going home
"Ampharos, we have to defend Charizard till he wakes up. Use Electro Ball", Nathan said
"Drapion, use Toxic Spikes" Trent commanded.
Ampharos nodded and forms an orb of yellow and orange electricity with yellow electric sparks and two yellow rings of electricity around it in between its hands. It then fires the orb at Drapion. Drapion took full flow of the attack but manages to stand on. Then, Drapion opens its mouth, and a dark purple orb forms inside it. It then fires the ball into the air, which spirals and releases four small streams of purple smoke from the top of the ball. The orb then explodes, forming multiple smaller orbs that fall and sink into the battlefield. The smaller orbs leave trails of purple smoke behind them as they fall. Suddenly, Both Charizard and Ampharos become surrounded by purple waves and indigo bubbles that rise from the ground over their body while giving continuous damage.
"No!, This is not good", Nathan shouted, watching his advantage going away
"Drapion, Use Cross Poison on Ampharos" Trent shouted.
Drapion crosses its arms in front of its face and its claws start to glow purple. A purple 'X' then appears in front of its crossed arms and it opens its hands, firing the 'X' at the Ampharos, who is still struggling from the effects of Toxic Spikes. Even from the effects of the Light Screen, it still gives Ampharos great damage.
"Now, end this with Poison Jab" Trent Command
Both of Drapion's claws glow purple and it jabs the Ampharos with it repetitively. Ampharos, after getting hits with continuous poison attacks, falls on the ground, unconscious
"Ampharos is unable to battle, this match will continue as a one-on-one!" The ref shouted.
Nathan recalls his fallen Pokemon and heard a huge roar from the battlefield. Charizard is now awake, flying in the sky, away from the effects of Toxic Spikes
"Damn it, I need one more attack", Trent grinned, "Drapion, use Aqua Tail", he commands
"Charizard, use Flare Blitz", Nathan countered
Drapion's tail becomes surrounded in a light blue aura, with water swirling around the tip, and aimed towards the Charizard, whose body becomes surrounded by red-orange fire but suddenly Charizard's body becomes surrounded by purple waves hurting it more.
"Charizard is Poisoned, No!" Nathan shouted
Drapion, then, slams his tail on Charizard, slamming it on the ground and creating a small cloud of dust around Charizard. Everyone can hear a large howl from Charizard as it got hit by the poison from Toxic Spikes earlier when it slammed into the ground. When the dust settles Charizard is lying on the ground with black swirls on his eyes
"Charizard is unable to battle, Drapion is the winner and the match goes to Trent Fernandez of Eterna City!" The ref announced.
Trent cheered, throwing a fist into the air and after recalling his Drapion, he walked up to Nathan and both trainers shakes hands and acknowledges each other. Trent saw the large screen, which shows Trent's group, where he jumps to the second position, and with one more victory, he might qualify for the next round
