Chapter 10 Kat Returns. Long time no see. Lets put Kat's plan into action. Will the big evil beat them or will he be sent back into the portal where he belongs? The chapter is longer for your special reading pleasure.

Everyone agrees with Kat's idea. They conquer evil over and over again. Might as well stick with tradition.

"I'm for that," says Angel with a smile.

"Alright," says Giles giving up on being the grown up of the bunch. "But we must be careful. It is dangerous opening a portal. We have no control of what over what comes into our world."

"Then we kick its ass," says Kennedy. Everyone looks at her. "Sorry. I got riled up."

Xander leads the troops into his hut and opens his weapon cabinets.

"Whoa!" says Spike pretty impress with the collection of neat weapons that Xander obtained. "Nice collection."

"Thanks," says Xander. "Help yourselves." Xander then heads to his trunk in front of his bed, which stored cross bows, stakes, and many other weapons.

"Oh, shiny weapon," says Tammy retrieving a knife from the trunk.

"Careful Tammy," says Kat. "You might hurt yourself."

"I so can handle this," says Tammy glaring at her friend.

"Whoa, wait a minute. Don't give her weapon," says Spike. "She'd probably pop an eye out or something."

"Yeah, maybe yours," says Tammy with a smirk as she walks closer to Spike. Spike stands still and looks at her.

"You two play nice," says Buffy catching the whole incident from the corner of her eye while grabbing weapons and handing them out.

Xander from under the bed pulls out two swords then he looks at Kat. He walks over to her and hands her one.

"You know how to use this?" ask Xander.

"I think I can," says Kat taking the sword from his hand. "Whoa."

"What?"

"It's heavier than I thought."

Xander nods his head smiles at Kat and then she smiles back at him.

Everyone is arm and ready to fight. They all obtain a weapon of their choice.

"I think we should split up into two groups," says Buffy taking charge. "We can cover more ground and find this guy."

"Yes," says Giles holding a book in one hand and a sword in the other.

"Alright. Angel you could be the leader of one group and I'll be the leader of the second group," says Buffy.

"Hey, how come Angel gets to leader?" ask Spike.

"Spike please don't start," says Buffy rolling her eyes at him.

"Okay." He folds his arms on his chest and turns away from her. "I don't want to be Angel's team."

"Fine by me. I don't want you in my team," says Angel.

"Are you two done bickering?" ask Buffy.

"Yes!" they both say at the same time. Tammy and Kat laugh a little.

"Thank you," says Buffy. "Okay, Spike. You'll be on my team. Angel you take Willow."

"Hey, I want to be in Willow's team," says Kennedy to Angel.

"Can she be in our team Angel? Please," says Willow with a puppy eye face.

"Fine."

"What a softy," says Spike laughing at the display. Angel gives him a hard look.

"Giles, you could go with Angel's team," says Buffy.

"Buffy I..."

"Wesley you'll be in our team," says Buffy. Wesley walks over to Spike's side.

"Xander you are in my team and Kat too," says Angel. Xander grabs Kat's hand and they head over next to Kennedy, Willow, and Giles.

"Fred can be a good use in our team," Wesley suggests.

"Alright. Join us Fred," says Buffy. "You too Gunn."

There is only three people left. It's Tammy, Lorne, and Dawn.

"Why am I always last?" ask Tammy. Spike starts to laugh at her.

"Tammy you can come with us," says Buffy.

"Yes!" Tammy runs over to their team and sticks her tongue out of him.

"Lorne feeling lonely," says Angel.

"Just a tad bit," replies Lorne. "I think it would be better if sweet cheeks here and I stand down on the battlefield."

"I'm going with green guy here," says Dawn. "No offense."

"None taken pumpkin," says Lorne.

"Angel I think you're friend has a point," says Buffy. "I don't want Dawn in this fight."

"Okay Lorne," says Angel. "You stay with Dawn. Take care of her." Lorne nods his head.

"Dawn..."

"It's okay Buffy," says Dawn. "You be careful okay." Buffy nods her head. Buffy goes over to Lorne and he could read her face.

"Thank you." Buffy kisses Lorne on the cheek. Lorne blushes a little.

The two teams leave Xander's hut with weapons in hand to search for the being of mortal flesh.

Dawn shrugs and walks over to the bed. Lorne closes the door and walks over to Dawn.

"They always leave me with demons," says Dawn. "I'm use to it. I kind of trust them more than I trust humans. It's that weird?"

"Not at all," replies Lorne. "Human's and demon are very a like. It's the humans that judge even themselves and us."

"Yeah I get it," says Dawn. "Do you think if humans didn't judge so much then we would have some kind of peace?"

"Probably," replies Lorne. He pulls out a chair and sits next to the bed. Dawn looks around and starts to hum a tune that is stuck in her head.

"So you wanna sing?" ask Dawn out of the blue. Lorne smiles.

"I thought you'd never ask," says Lorne.

The two groups spilt and each into the jungle. They begin to follow a trail that soon becomes a trail of dead animals. The smell is overwhelming as they pass by the poor innocent animals on the ground.

"Seriously if I see another dead animal I think that I'm going to puke," says Kat holding her stomach with one hand and her other hand on her mouth.

"Well, that's not something we really wanted to know," says Giles. Everyone stays quiet and keep moving. Xander helps Kat and tries to comfort her.

"Why don't we stop," says Kennedy. "Take a break."

"Okay," says Angel looking forward at something. Willow walks over to Angel.

"Angel are you..." ask Willow walking in front of him.

"Willow watch out," says Angel grabbing her hand as the beneath her breaks. Angel holds on too her.

"Willow," Kennedy yells. "Don't let her go."

"I don't intend to," Angel says as he pulls her up out of the pit. Kennedy hugs Willow.

"Thanks," Willow says as she turns around to look at the pit. "That would have been a long fall." Angel looks at her.

"Yeah, come on," says Angel pulling her away from the pit. "We've got go around. There are traps everywhere."

"I'm all for it," says Kat. "As long as I don't see anymore dead animals." Angel smiles and nods his head.

"Let's go," says Angel as he leads the team away from the trail the have been following.

In another part of the jungle Buffy's team encounter something worse than traps and dead animals on the ground.

"Ewww gross," says Buffy backing away. "Knock it down Spike." Buffy pushes him in front of her.

"Slayer," says Spike looking at her. "It's just a..."

"Don't say that! They are..."

"Yeah, I gotta agree with Buffy," says Gunn walking over to Buffy's side. "They are kind of...With the legs and everything." Gunn feels shivers go down his spine and shudders. He then walks away.

"You guys please," says Tammy not believing that Buffy the vampire Slayer is afraid of a little bug.

"Spike would just move it out the path," says Wesley. Spike shrugs, grabs a stick, and allows the spider to crawl on it. He then reveals an evil smile.

"Buffy see it's harmless," says Spike as he brings the spider on the stick close to her.

"Spike get that thing away from me," says Buffy running behind Wesley. Fred joins her too. Spike then decides to scare Tammy.

"I'm not afraid of little spider," says Tammy. "On the other hand, this spider is way scarier than you are." Tammy gives him a wicked smile while Spike glares at her. He then throws the stick on the ground. Tammy pulls the web out of the way of the path.

"Ladies first," says Tammy to Spike. Spike rolls his eyes at Tammy and quickly walks pass her.

"You are so bad," says Buffy walking next Tammy.

"Ah, children will be children," says Wesley walking along side Fred and behind Gunn.

"Hey!" says Kennedy to her group. "Check out that cave." Angel goes ahead of everyone to get a closer look.

"There's blood. I can sense it." Angel turns to his team.

"How gross is that," says both Kat and Xander. The two then look at each other.

"We must be getting close," says Giles walking up to Angel. "Perhaps this being is inside the cave."

"Yeah, it's dark and dank," says Xander. "It's the perfect pad for an evil being." Kat smiles at Xander.

"Alright time to put the whammy on this guy," says Angel.

"Whammy Angel," ask Willow as she goes up to him.

"You know what I mean," says Angel. Willow smiles and begins to chant something but is interrupted. She then turns to look at Kat.

"Why did it suddenly get so cold?" ask Kat. Everyone looks at her then she faints instantly. Xander catches her before she hit the ground.

"Kat," Xander calls to her. "What's wrong with her?" Xander looks at Giles.
