Chapter 11 Kat Returns. The evilness is getting closer to the Scooby gang and the Angel crew. Will they stop him and fight him?

"It's the being," says Willow. "I can feel his presence." Willow goes over to Xander who is on the floor with Kat in his arms.

"We're close alright," says Angel. "Willow's right. Maybe we should of never had brought her with us."

"We brought her to keep her safe," says Xander.

"Xander I understand that, but this being lead us here," says Angel. "We bit the bait and we're hanging from the hook."

"If he's here then where is he?" says Kennedy.

"Right there," says Angel looking at a rock.

"Where?" ask Giles.

"There!" Angel lunges in-between a mist of air that is heading toward Kat. He falls to the ground struggling.

"What's wrong with him?" ask Kennedy.

"The being is inside of him," says Giles. "Xander get out of here."
"But Giles..."

"Go now!" Xander quickly stands up and carries Kat away from the scene.

"What are we going to do?" ask Willow.

"Maybe we can hurt it while it's in Angel's body," says Giles.

"But that means we have to hurt Angel," says Willow.

"Yes, but we have no other choice."

"Maybe we should wait. Let Xander get a head start."

"What."

"He's going after Kat. If we get him out of Angel he'll find her."

"Then what do we do?" ask Kennedy.

"Continue the chant," says Willow. "Maybe we can open the portal and toss him in."

Xander, holding Kat as tight as he can in his arms, runs as fast as he can through the jungle. He begins to breathe heavily and stops for a second. Kat moves in his arms and he puts her down on the grassy ground.

"Are you okay?" ask Xander.

"Yes," says Kat. "Ouch. He got into my head and I felt what he was going to do to me."

"He's telepathic," says Xander.

"I guess." Kat gets up slowly. Xander holds her up. "He's strong. I don't know if Willow can get him into the portal."

"We'll worry about that later. Now I gotta get you somewhere safe." Xander grabs Kat's hand and they begin to run through the jungle.

"I'm so thirsty," says Kat.

"We're almost there," says Xander. Kat blinks and suddenly Xander stops abruptly when she opens her eyes. She crashes into him and he almost falls but she pulls him back. Xander turns around to Kat. "How did we get here?"

"What?" ask Kat. She walks to the edge where Xander stop and sees a waterfall.

Meanwhile on the other side of the jungle Buffy's team is lead to a waterfall. The group walks by a lake and look up towards the top of the waterfall.

"There's someone up there." says Spike looking up to the darkness.

"Who could it be?" ask Fred.

"One way to find out," says Spike as he starts to climb to the top of the waterfall.

"Spike," calls Buffy. He looks back at her. "Be careful." Spike nods his head and begins to climb up.

"That's a long way," says Gunn.

"Maybe he'll fall," says Tammy. Gunn and Fred look at Tammy. "I guess I have hopeful thinking." Buffy glares at Tammy.

At the top Xander sees some people down by the waterfall. Kat then sees someone climbing up to them.

"Someone is coming up," says Kat. She isn't able to see who is climbing up to them. Xander pulls Kat away from the edge and he waits for the person to climb up onto the edge. A hand comes up and the person looks at them.

"Spike," says Xander.

"A little help here," says Spike tire of the long climb. Xander grabs Spike's hand and pulls him up. "Thanks. What are you two doing up here?" Xander looks at Kat.

"I don't know," says Xander. "Are the others down there?"

"Yeah," replies Spike. "Where's everyone else?"

"We found it," says Xander. "It's strong. Almost got Kat. They stayed behind. I hope they're alright."

"You okay kid?" ask Spike to Kat.

"I'm fine," replies Kat. "Maybe we should stick together."

"Good idea," says Spike. "I think it's a lot easier going down." Spike looks down the edge.

"Maybe there's a path," says Kat walking away from the two. They follow her and find out that she is right.

As they make their way down the path, Kat gets a strange feeling and stops in the middle of the path.

"What's wrong?" ask Xander. Kat looks at Xander.

Back at Xander's hut Dawn is sleeping and Lorne is having himself a nightcap when he suddenly feels this telepathic wave go into him.

"I know there was something about that girl," says Lorne to himself. "What are you trying to say sweetie pie?"

"Lorne, is there someone in here?" ask Dawn waking up.

"No pumpkin," says Lorne. "It's telepathic message. She's got power and so does her friend."

"Who are you talking about?" ask Dawn.

"The two young girls," replies Lorne. "They need all the telepathic strength they can get."

Xander shakes Kat and she gets out of the telepathic connection. He touches her hand and it feels like ice.

"You getting cold again," says Xander. Kat begins to shiver a little.

"What's wrong with her?" ask Spike concern.

"I don't know," says Xander holding Kat close to keep her warm. "Ever since we made contact with that being, she hasn't been herself."

"Here put this on her," says Spike taking off his duster and offering it to Kat. Xander grabs the duster and wraps Kat with it. "Come on lets keep going." The two help Kat down the pathway.

At the end of the pathway they meet with Buffy's group. They too ask the same questions as Spike and Xander answers them. Xander hands over Kat to Wesley and Fred to take a look at her. They lay her down on the ground.

"From what I remember reading of this being I don't recall literally freezing it's victims." Wesley looks Kat over and notices that her temples on her head are beating faster than that of her wrist.

"Is she going to be alright?" ask Tammy. "What did that thing do to her?"

"I believe it has done nothing to her," says Wesley.

"Then why is she acting this way?" ask Xander.

"It's because she has telepathic powers," says Wesley. "It seems to me that she recently just notice that she obtains them."

"This must be the reason why we were able tap into that communication with Cordelia," says Tammy. "Oh my gosh, I'm so mentally challenge. We have some cool powers right under our noses and we didn't even know about it. But how we got them is a mystery to me."

"So you both are empath," says Buffy.

"Like Lorne," says Fred.

"Is this going to help us or are we still screwed?" says Spike.

"Spike," says Buffy hitting him on the shoulder.

"What!" says Spike looking at Buffy. "Look we've got two girls who are from who knows where plus they have telekinetic powers. You think this being is not going to want that?"

"Spike's right," says Wesley. Everyone looks at Wesley.

"Wesley it's not their fault that there here," says Fred. "Willow may have brought them here but I think they have a bigger purpose here."

"What are you getting at Fred?" ask Gunn.

"I don't think we've been thinking straight with this being around," says Fred. "What little bit we know about him. He could of plan this whole thing from the very beginning. Buffy you talking to Cordelia. Tammy and Kat coming here in their perspective places were all part of his plan. He knows what we're going to do. We need to find another way of beating him."

"What can we do?" ask Buffy. "Magic is our only hope. I can't believe I'm saying that but it is."

"I know a way," says Kat getting up. Everyone looks at her.
