Chapter 14 Kat Returns. Now Kat dies. I'm so evil. I can't help it. You must read. Michelle Branch song Goodbye to You was in the previous chapter, just had to say that. Sorry for the delay I was getting new computer and I needed to transferred all the files into the new one. Do enjoy.
Tammy moves her left leg under and between Spike's legs then lifts her leg up.
"Bloody hell!" yells Spike releasing Kat. She falls to the ground breathing really hard and yelps in pain. She looks at Spike and pushes him onto the force field with her telekinetic powers, which shocks him. Spike yells in pain some more then drops to the ground motionless.
Tammy uses her powers to lift the force field up. Angel immediately pulls Tammy out, while Xander pulls Kat. The field conceals Spike inside as he gets up. Angel and Xander put the girls behind them to protect them.
Spike makes the force field disappear and he begins to walk towards them all. He cracks his neck and his eyes turn purple then back to there natural blue.
"Hey, what's going on out here?" ask Dawn coming out of the hut.
"Dawn stay inside," says Buffy as she walks up to Spike who stops and looks at Dawn. "Spike you have to fight this." Spike moves closer to Buffy and caresses her face then he grabs her by the neck lifting her up into the air.
"Buffy," Angel calls as he tries to get to her but Spike with his new abilities as the big bad pushes him away. Xander looks at Buffy who is choking.
"Get them out of here," says Buffy barley clear enough to understand but Xander knew what she had said.
"You two inside the hut," says Xander pushing them. He closed the door shut and faces Spike still holding Buffy.
"I'm not after you luv," says Spike to Buffy as she struggles. "I only want them. So bug off." Spike throws her aside like paper doll. She falls on top of Giles, Angel, and Lorne. Wesley, Fred and Gunn are behind them and help them up.
Kennedy gives a kick to Spike trying to stop him, but he catches her leg in mid air. She looks at him terrified.
"Little girl," says Spike. "You want your broken leg ?" Willow's eyes widen then she says some Latin words quickly. This pushes Spike back hard and he lets go of Kennedy's leg. Spike glares at Willow as Kennedy goes over to Willow and stands in front of her.
Spike then falls to the ground and a mist comes out of him. Angel goes up to Spike and Spike puts his hand on his shoulder.
"He's going inside the hut," says Spike.
"No!" says Xander. He turns around to the front door of the hut trying to open it, but it's locked. "The door. Help me get it open."
Inside Tammy and Kat feel and see the evil presence come into the room. The three girls back away into a corner. Dawn tips over a bag that Xander has on a table. She picks it and notices that it's a bag with some kind of magic sand. It must of been given to Xander by the Cassandra the witch.
"A protection circle," says Dawn showing the girls the sand. Dawn quickly makes the circle and they three step into it. The evil mist gets shock by it and floats away.
Angel, Spike, and Buffy could not budge the door one bit. Xander gets impatient and tries to ram the door. In an instant the door crashes open and Xander ends up lying inside landing on top of the door.
"Xander watch out!" yells Kat as the mist hovers right on top of Xander then disappears. Kat gets out of the circle and helps Xander up. "Are you okay?" Xander looks at Kat's worry expression.
"Yeah, I think I broke my arm," says Xander.
Buffy helps Spike inside and over to the chair next to the window. He sits down still feeling a lot of pain in a particular lower area of his body.
"I'm really sorry," says Tammy walking up to Spike and Buffy.
"That really hurt," says Spike trying to hold the pain that he is still feeling.
"It's not like you needed it or anything," says Tammy.
"Tammy," says Buffy in a stern voice. "I think we should rest. At least for Spike's sake and Xander's too.
Kat walks over to the frig and pulls out two ice bags. She hands one to Buffy and the other she takes it to Xander.
"I think we should put a protection circle around the hut," says Willow. "So that the big bad won't enter the hut while we're sleeping."
"Alright," says Buffy. "Let's make the sleeping arrangements." Willow heads over to Cassandra's to get some more magic sand.
The sleeping arrangements are set and everyone is fast asleep. Willow, and Kennedy are on the bed. Buffy and Dawn sleep in the sofa bed. On the left side of the sofa bed is Spike. Buffy says goodnight to Spike who is next to her. In front of the bed Angel and Tammy sleep together. To the right of them is Lorne and Gunn then Wesley and Fred are sleeping next to the bed, while Xander and Kat sleep on the other side of the bed next to the window.
Xander wakes up and nudges Kat. She opens her eyes and looks at Xander. He helps her get up and walks her over to the front door. Kat grabs Spike's duster that is next to her and puts it on.
"What are you doing?" ask Kat quietly. Xander puts his finger on her lips. He opens the door and takes her outside. "Xander we shouldn't be out here." Kat closes the door and Xander makes an opening of the protection circle by moving the sand with a stick. Kat turns around and Xander drops the stick on the ground.
Back inside Lorne wakes Gunn next to him. Gunn stutters some nonsense words then looks at Lorne.
"What is it Lorne?" ask Gunn.
"Kat and Xander just went outside," says Lorne.
"So what," says Gunn.
"I'm getting some bad vibes from Xander," says Lorne.
Outside Xander faces Kat and grabs her hand. Kat notices the circle is broken and that Xander is on the outside of the circle. She stops and pulls her hand away from him.
"Hey, what are you two doing out here?" ask Spike. Kat turns around.
"Just getting some fresh air," says Xander. Spike too notices that the circle is broken and that Xander is outside of it. "Come on Kat." Xander grabs Kat's hand and pulls her toward him. Spike quickly grabs Kat's other hand and pulls her toward him.
"What do you think you doing?" ask Xander looking at Spike. Kat without anyone noticing seals the circle once again and gets up. Xander attempts to pull Kat but gets shock. "Smart." Kat looks at Xander. Xander conjures up a knife in his hand.
"Get out of him," says Kat.
"I will. Once you come to my side," says Xander. "If you don't I'll kill him." Xander puts the knife next to his throat.
"No," says Kat. "You can't."
"Oh yes I could," says Xander. "I don't die. He does. Doesn't hurt me." Kat turns to Spike then turns back to Xander.
"Okay," says Kat.
"What! Are you crazy?" says Spike. Kat breaks the seal and step out of the circle. Xander grabs her and puts the knife near her throat.
"Spike what are you doing...Kat," says Buffy as she comes out of the house and Kat disappears with Xander. "What just happened?"
"The big bad possessed Xander," says Spike. "He was in him the whole time." Spike enters the hut. Everyone is already awake. Spike explains what happen.
"Lorne why didn't you sense him?" ask Angel.
"It was hard," says Lorne. "He was really believable. I couldn't tell until he got up and the two of them headed outside."
"This is unreal," says Tammy. "She's not going to get hurt."
"Tammy calm down," says Angel. "We'll find her. I promise." Angel holds her hand tight.
"Okay, I say we go after him, it, whatever," says Buffy. "Angel you said you found him near this cave then that's where they'll be."
"That's pretty far Buffy," says Willow.
"Then I'll run," says Buffy.
"Lets not go off with our heads cut off Buffy," say Giles.
"Giles I'm not going to lose her," says Buffy.
"We're not luv, but first we got to find away to hurt this guy," says Spike putting his hand on her shoulder.
"We can follow Kat's plan," says Buffy. "I think she'd want us to use it."
Meanwhile in the dark cave Xander and Kat appear and Kat pushes herself away from Xander.
"What, you don't love me anymore?" ask Xander in sarcastic voice. Kat glares at him. Xander starts to walk around the cave. "That's too bad. Well, lets get to the fun part shall we." Xander gives her an evil grin. Kat backs away.
"Why did you bring us here?" ask Kat.
"It was all part of my master plan," says Xander. "You see you in this dimension are a very powerful Wicca with telekinetic powers and so is your friend. That's how you got the powers, which I didn't think you'd pick up on them that soon."
"I guess people surprise you," says Kat.
"Right," says Xander still walking around Kat. "I need a soul, a pure soul, to get release. I need a witch to perform the ritual to make me solid and extract a soul, your soul. If everything comes out right I'll be whole again."
"I can't do that," says Kat.
"You will and you must," says Xander. "Or your lover is dead."
"If you let him go I'll do it," says Kat.
"I don't know. I'm getting pretty attached to this mortal coil," says Xander touching himself.
"My life for his," says Kat. "Promise me that." Xander gives Kat a grin.
"It's done," says Xander. The mist slithers out of Xander and into the air. Kat rushes to Xander's side.
"No Kat I won't let you do this," says Xander knowing everything that the big bad and Kat had talked about. Kat puts her fingers on his lips.
"I have to," says Kat caressing his face. "It's the only way."
"No it isn't," says Xander. "Take me instead."
"No Xander," says Kat holding him. "I have to do this. It's my choice."
"I just found you," says Xander. "I don't want to lose you again."
"I know," says Kat trying to hold in her tears. "I love you."
"I love you too," says Xander. They kiss passionately and long then embrace. Kat begins to let out the water works.
"Go," says Kat clearing some of the tears from her face. Xander walks out of the cave and looks back at Kat. The mist shows her a black book on the ground. Telekinetically the big bad begins to speak to Kat and tells her how to perform the spell to make him solid. Then she begins the other spell to extract a soul, her soul.
"You'll need this," says the big bad as he hands her knife that he had conjured up. As soon as the spell was complete Kat raises the knife up.
