Inutori Hey there, everyone! My laptop still isn't working, so I didn't this on a different computer, but I figured I'd at least give my faithful readers something to pass the time with while waiting.
Sagi She don't own Inuyasha or the song used in this, so don't sue her for usin' them.
Gem: You really need to work on your speech
Inutori: Anyways, this is a song fic, and the songs are from one of Dixie Chicks CDs. I don't really like country, but a friend gave me the CD several years ago and I felt it should be put to good use.

Chapter 1
If I Fall You're Going Down With Me

"Inuyasha, I really need to be getting back…"

Kagome pulled away from the superstar's protective embrace to look into his eyes. Those golden orbs held overwhelming depth to them and she was always losing herself to their grasp.

"Just stay a little longer, woman. What's so important that you have to leave?" His arms pulled Kagome back to him smoothly and the raven-haired girl couldn't help but sigh.

"It's almost one in the morning, Inuyasha. I'm just getting a bit tired, that's all." Her yawn ended the statement with a certain edge as if to challenge Inuyasha to prove her wrong.

Inuyasha just let out a soft, "Keh," and didn't make any move to release the actress in his arms so that he could take her home.

"Inuyasha…" The warning tone in her voice was clear and Inuyasha slackened his grip on Kagome's waist, allowing her to sit back upright in her seat and buckle in.

"My villa's closer. You'll stay the night there." Inuyasha always had this demanding personality; that if he wanted something, he got it.

Was it the pull of the moon now baby
That led you to my door
You say the night's got you acting crazy
I think it's something more

Kagome rolled her eyes, knowing that once Inuyasha set his mind to it, there was nothing she could do about it. One night at Inuyasha's villa wouldn't hurt, right? So with no complaints on her part, the famous duo headed to Inuyasha's lakeside villa.

It didn't take them long to get there, but Kagome silently wondered if her house was really further away than Inuyasha's. With someone like Inuyasha it was best not to press the matter, but Kagome couldn't keep her mouth shut.

"Wouldn't it have taken just as long to get to my place?" Kagome unbuckled and got out of Inuyasha's sports car.

I never felt the earth move honey
Until you shook my tree
Nobody runs from the law now baby
Of love and gravity it pulls you so strong
Baby you gotta hold on

They walked into the spacious house, and Kagome couldn't hear any movement besides their own footsteps. "Is anyone else even here, Inuyasha?"

"No, the employees all go home before ten-thirty."

"So, we have the place all to ourselves then?" Kagome felt her stomach tighten. She had thought that there would have been at least a few other people here.

"Yep." The look Inuyasha sent her way caused unwanted jitters to run up and down her spine. She hadn't even kissed Inuyasha yet…what was she doing in his house. Kagome felt like bolting similar to a deer frozen in a car's headlights, not knowing exactly what she should do.

"Inu-Inuyasha?" Her hesitant voice squeaked through the abandoned hall that they were walking through.

"Hai, Kagome?" Inuyasha tilted his head slightly at Kagome as he answered, but he didn't stop walking. The innocent expression on his face nearly cleared all of Kagome's worries from her body, but she still retained some of her anxiety.

If I fall you're going down with me
You're going down with me baby if I fall
You can't take back every little chill you give me
You're going down with me baby heart and all ooh yeah

Inuyasha stopped in front of a plain wooden door, Kagome stopping a foot behind him. She couldn't drop certain things from the foreground in her mind, and she was worried that Inuyasha would soon be able to smell her fear if he hadn't already.

The door swung open with Inuyasha's turn of the doorknob, and Kagome found herself looking into a bedroom large enough to fit an elephant comfortably. Her guide turned on the light and Kagome's eyes widened at all of the dark blues, blacks, and rich browns.

"This is my room."

Kagome's heart nearly stopped. Why had Inuyasha taken her here? She suddenly felt as if her worst fears were coming true in just a matter of a few short moments. "Where will I sleep?" The hesitance in her voice probably gave away to the fact that she was worried about having to sleep in Inuyasha's bed. At the moment she really wasn't awake enough to protest properly.

Inuyasha's rich laugh made her look at him curiously. What did he find so funny? "There's a room across the hall with a nice bed, you'll sleep there, woman. Did you actually think I'd make you stay in here?" The smirk on his face just taunted Kagome, but her insides relaxed considerably.

And with that said, Inuyasha opened up one of the drawers of his dark wood chest and pulled out a t-shirt and sweats.

"Kagome?" Now it was Inuyasha that sounded a little nervous; but what would he have to be nervous about?

We're hanging right on the edge now baby
The wind is getting stronger
We're hanging on by a thread now honey
We can't hold on much longer
It's a long way down but it's too late

"What, Inuyasha?" Kagome looked at Inuyasha curiously as he approached her, one of his hands fiddling with the cloth in his arms.

He stopped just in front of Kagome, then, with a deep breath, he knelt down on one knee and held up a small golden hoop with a diamond and two rubies encrusted in it.

Kagome felt her breath fall short, and her eyes started to water up slightly.

If I fall you're going down with me
You're going down with me baby if I fall
You can't take back every little chill you give me
You're going down with me baby heart and all

"Kagome, we've only known each other for a few months, and we haven't been dating for more than two of those months, but when I'm with you…ugh, I can't do this…you know what I'm getting at, right?"

Kagome let out her breath in a little laugh, tears building up in her eyes. "Of course, Inuyasha."

Inuyasha's gaze darted to the floor, then back up to Kagome's face. "Kagome, it's time for you to settle down and marry me."

Kagome almost burst out in laughter at how terrible Inuyasha had just sounded. He had gone back into his 'spoilt brat' mode, and was demanding she marry him. But Kagome knew Inuyasha well enough that if he was demanding her to do something; it meant he was either extremely angry or extremely nervous. And right now she assumed it was the latter for obvious reasons.

"Yes! Inuyasha, I'd love to settle down with you!" Kagome fell to her knees in front of Inuyasha and wrapped her arms around his neck to hug him fiercely.

Ooh baby I couldn't get any higher
This time I'm willing to dance on the wire
If I fall If I fall

They knelt there for a few moments before Kagome released Inuyasha and allowed him to slide the ring onto her left hand to signify their engagement.

'Cause if I fall you're going down with me
You're going down with me baby if I fall
You can't take back every little chill you give me
You're going down with me baby heart and all
If I fall If I fall If I fall

I
Do
Not
Sleep

Inutori If you liked it, or maybe even if you didn't like, review please? This is actually going to be a fairly short story. An estimated 6 chapters, but if people like it…no…the story's all planned out…never mind. This is going to be a six chapter story. If any has a problem with that…then poopy on you!
