The city is in a state of panic, but Paul and his team are ready for it. After nearly escaping from the fire, making things right with Jean, and getting his team fully assembled; they had to take action. Paul walked over to the edge of the roof as he stared out to the city, thinking of the destruction that's happening.
"What's the plan?" Thomas said as they were all ready to take action.
"Sabella, have you heard anything form Christoph? He must know something about how to handle the virus." Paul said.
"I wish I could, but he's keeping a low profile. On top of that, my brother won't let him out of his sights." Sabella claimed. "If my brother sees you, he will try to kill you. He and his men have been permitted to kill you if they see you or his friends."
"Sounds like you really got on their bad side." Jean said.
"The could be working on the antidote, hopefully." They all looked and saw Marcus was joining them. "We've got some sick people here. Everyone is pitching in to help out, but they're all having a hard time."
"Mark, how's Mom doing?" Paul asked.
"A little shaken by the fire, but I'm a little worried she might be pushing herself." Marcus said. Paul was worried about that herself.
"Okay, Ray is already out there and doing what he can. The police, doctors, and fireman are probably stretched pretty thin. We've got to do what we can." Paul said. "Monica and Jean, could you two stay here and help out around here."
"Of course." Monica said.
"It could also give me a chance to study the virus." Jean said. "If I'm careful, I see how it works and maybe find ways to make it easier to deal with."
"What about the rest of us?" Lindsay asked.
"We've got to find Hydra and his team before they can do anymore harm to the city." Paul said. "At the same time, we'll have to gather the prisoners that have escaped, while also dealing with Sable International. Sabella, I understand he's your brother, but Sabastian..." "Say no more." She interrupted.
"You don't have to worry about me. I don't agree with what he's doing either and I want to put a stop to it." Sabella claimed.
"Alright..." Paul said as he hoped she's up for this.
"So, how are we going to find Hydra? If he survived our last battle against him, he had to have been hiding out somewhere. The problem is that no one has seen him from then until now." Lindsay said.
"I think I can help with that." Sabella claimed. "With a few tools I have, maybe I can track a clue or such. If he's the one who released the virus, maybe I can track it. Maybe I can find out where he's been hiding. I just need to head where the virus was first released. I believe it was in the area known as Times Square."
"That sounds like a good place to start. The four of us are heading there." Paul said.
"Paul, do be careful out there." Monica said as she hopes that he comes back safely with Paul agreeing to that. Even though he wore a mask, Paul looked back with him saying that he will. Sabella could see that and got annoyed.
"Let's move out." Paul said as the guys grabbed the girls and the four of them headed off.
...
Times Square
Once Sabella got the things she needed for tracking the virus, the four of them headed for where the virus was released in Times Square. The streets were pretty cleared, so they should have to worry too much about people getting in the way at the moment.
"This was right where the virus was released." Thomas said. "I still don't get how this is going to help us find Hydra. He already released it, so we can't get it back."
"Perhaps, but if there's residue or such remaining, I can pick up on it's signature and perhaps learn where it's been." Sabella said as she looked around for anything she could use to help her.
"Meaning, you might be able to find where Hydra has been hiding the whole time." Paul said.
"But is it safe? This IS where it was released. What if we catch the virus?" Lindsay questioned.
"The virus seems to affect people at different intervals." Sabella said. "It's unpredictable, so I rather use whatever time we do have for something productive." They all felt the same as her, so they all looked around for something she could use. Sabella searched around until she spotted something blue on a flagpole. "Found it." Once she got it, she took out a handheld scanner and was taking samples of it.
"So, how does that thing of yours work?" Paul questioned.
"By getting the signature of the residue, I can track for any traces of it and find a strong source." Sabella said. "We find the the strongest source, we can tell where the virus has been and perhaps find this Hydra's hideout." Once she got the sample, she scanned around the area to find a trail. Her scanner was beeping as it searched and soon started beeping rapidly. "I think I have something. Readings are getting stronger higher up."
"Just tell us where to go." Paul said as he lifted Sabella up and headed for the ceilings.
"Milady." Thomas humored as he lifted Lindsay up and followed them. They followed the direction that Sabella's scanner. The more it beeped, the more it knew they were heading in the right direction. They only went down a couple blocks until they reached the top of a building.
"Stop here." Sabella said. They stopped like she said and Paul let her down. She continued to scan around until she found herself standing over a vent. "I think we're already here."
"Let's see what the rotten doctor has been hiding." Paul said as he grabbed the vent and pulled it open with all four of them jumping inside. Paul slid down the vent until he reached the end and kicked it open. When he got inside, he could see he was in a room that someone has clearly been living in.
"Are we in the right place?" Thomas asked.
"Yeah. Come on in, the coast is clear." Paul said. The three of them followed after him and found themselves in the room. There was tables, equipment, paperwork, and everything everywhere.
"This is definitely the place of a scientist: the place is a mess." Lindsay claimed. Paul had a look around and saw some paper and research on Hydra himself as to how his new body was built.
"We're the right place. Hydra's been hiding out in here all this time, waiting for his moment to strike." Paul said.
"Well, now this all makes sense." Lindsay said. "Hydra helped create the D-EL8 virus. That's how he knew about it, and to hack into Christoph's systems."
"He planned everything perfectly, and he's been planning this for a long time." Thomas said as he looked around. "Hydra even has some things about his new team. It must have been how he convinced them to help him in whatever he's after." They all looked around and saw there was info and such about the other five. Information that Hydra can use for his own goals."
"I do not know much about these enemies of yours." Sabella admitted. "Could you please share with me what you know?"
"Sure." Paul said. "Let's start with Eagle." He said as he showed the info Hydra had on Eagle. "His real name is Alden Toomes. He's a relative of a villain that the original Spider-Man fought known as the Vulture. He uses a special flight suit that helps him fly and commit his crimes. Alden's really a spoiled punk who thinks he can do whatever he wants. He was once a model, but things started going downhill for him. My guess is that Hydra didn't need to waste much to convince him. They have worked together in a team like this before."
"Next, we have the human white tiger named Fang." Thomas said as he showed the info on Fang. "His name is Francis Coinsith. He's an even bigger spoiled brat that Eagle. The guy came from a rich and obnoxious family. The Coinsith family thought they had to be the best at everything. Francis was so obnoxious that he thought he was above everyone. He even willingly mutated himself just because he didn't like Spider-Man had powers when he didn't After being mutated, he practically became an outcast to his own family, and he blames Spider-Man for all of it."
"Sounds like he has some serious issues." Sabella said.
"You said it." Thomas said as he looked through Hydra's notes. "Looks like Hydra promised to help Fang get back on top as long as he helps out."
"Then, we have Noah Frizz, also known as Hurricane." Lindsay pointed out as she found info on Hurricane. "Hurricane was working on being a pilot...until he crashed in a chemical plant or something and he ended up getting the power to control wind. This guys is also obsessed over Monica."
"Monica? You mean the same woman that Paul dumped me for?" Sabella said.
"You did what?!" Thomas said as he and Lindsay couldn't believe what they just heard.
"Not now..." Paul said as he didn't want to talk about. "What did Hydra promise him?"
"What do you think? He promised him Monica, and if she falls victim to the virus, he says he'll clone her." Lindsay said.
"Okay... That is just wrong." Thomas said as that was rather creepy.
"Moving on... Here's some things about Dr. Walters, also known as Iguana." Paul said as he showed info on him. "Years ago, he came across a formula made by another scientist named Dr. Connors. It was originally suppose to be used to help people with reptile DNA infused into it, but he wanted to use it for power. He's a regular mad scientist. I'm guessing Hydra promised him even more power."
"Finally, we have Balancer." Thomas said as he showed info on him. "Ling Leng, the adoptive son of the crime boss known as Mister Negative, which is also how he gained his powers. Unlike the rest of them, he's actually a good guy. The problem is that he suffers from having a separate personality. That's who Balancer is. While Mr. Leng was the one who originally ran the homeless shelter Porter's mother runs, Balancer is a destructive and dangerous man. He's also the one in charge of Librium."
"Ling is a good man. It's sad that this other personality his ruined his life." Paul claimed. "He constantly feels like he has to try and make amends for what Balancer has done. He was doing a good job in recovery until Hydra ruined it."
"Uh-oh..." Thomas said as he found something he didn't like. "It looks like Hydra might have found a way to cure him, but with the opposite effect with Balancer constantly in control."
"What?!" Paul said as that terrified him the most. He took a look and saw Thomas was right. "No way. We can't let that happen."
"We'll add it to the list of things we have to get done." Thomas joked.
"All of these villains sound vicious, crude, and dangerous." Sabella said as she doesn't like any of them.
"That's probably why Hydra chose each of them." Paul stated.
"Guys, over here! I think I found something!" Lindsay called in the back. They all gathered around the table and found a map of the city marked. "It looks like I found Hydra's little plan of attack. Each of them have been assigned something that could seriously damage the city."
"Let's see." Paul said as they all had a look. "It looks like he has Hurricane attacking power plants, and Iguana is targeting the reservoir to tamper with it. The city could lose power and fresh water from that."
"At a time like this, the city can't afford that." Thomas said.
"It also looks like the one you call Fang is targeting the harbor." Sabella said. "My brother and other businesses is sure to have shipments coming in. He must be trying to prevent that from happening."
"This part is weird." Paul said as he saw something. "It looks like Eagle is right near Times Square. He might not be that far from us now, but why would he be here?"
"Hey! Look at this one!" Lindsay said as she saw something really important. "Balancer is going for Christoph Silvio, and here's an important word: antidote!"
"Antidote?! You mean like a cure for the virus?!" Paul said. "That's exactly what we need! Where is it?!"
"It looks like that not even Hydra knows about it! That means we have a chance to find it!" Lindsay said.
"Finally! A little good news is what we need!" Thomas said as they were all glad to hear that.
"What about Hydra himself?" Sabella said.
"Uh... I don't see him on this thing." Paul said as they don't know where Hydra is or what he's targeting. "At least we now know what's going on. Hydra is planning to bring down the entire city. The power plants, the reservoir, and preventing supplies from coming in... The city won't survive if we lose all that."
"But we now know there's possibly a cure for the virus. We just need to get it before they do." Thomas pointed out.
"You're right about that." Paul said. "We still have a chance. I just hope we can act before it's too late." They know more about the enemy and what they're planning now. They have a chance to save the city or else the city will fall.
