"Here. Drink this." Monica said as she handed a man a little medicine. She and Jean were doing the best they could to take care of the people that were afflicted with the virus. Everyone was doing everything they could to take care of them. Monica stepped away to take a break as she headed for the main lobby to take a breath.
"Hey." Jean said as she went to her. "You doing okay?"
"I'm trying my best." Monica said, but she was having a hard time with what was going on. "It's just...overwhelming. So many people are getting sick and could die at any moment."
"I know, but we have to hold on. One thing Paul has taught us about is that we can't give up no matter how tough things." Jean reminded. Monica appreciated that.
"Monica! Jean!" They both looked to the entrance and was surprised to see Harris, Jessica, and little Tony.
"Harris?! Jessica?!" Monica said as she was glad to see them, but surprised they were here.
"What are you two doing here?" Jean said.
"Paul gave us a call and told us what was going on." Harris said. "So, we thought we come here and lend a hand."
"And you brought a toddler in a place where there's a bunch of sick people?" Jean said as she didn't think that would be a great idea.
"My parents are on their way to come get him, but we had to get here." Jessica said. "It's chaotic out there. We didn't really have any time to waste. Is there anything we can do to help out around here?"
"Tons, and thank you." Monica said as it was good to see people coming together for something like this. She just hopes that Paul has some help in whatever mess he's getting caught in.
...
Paul
Paul and his friends were able to find Hydra's hideout, where he's been hiding away and planning all of this for the past few years. Sabella learned a little more about the villains they are up against. They also learned more about Hydra's plan. One of the good things they learned about is that there's a possible cure for the D-EL8 virus.
"Well, we know what their plan is, but what are we going to do?" Thomas questioned.
"The one named Eagle is somewhere around here. We should start with him and try to find him." Sabella said.
"Good idea." Paul said as he was ready to get out of there.
"Hold on." Lindsay said as she found something else about Hydra's plan. "It looks like Hydra's plan involves something called L.T."
"L.T.? What the hell does that stand for?" Paul questioned. "Sabella, do you have any ideas?"
"Never heard of anything like that." Sabella claimed.
"I'm guessing it might be whatever is in there." Thomas said as he spotted something. He pointed ahead and saw some crates with those initials on it. "Let's crack it open and see what's inside." He walked right to them, but Paul stopped him from doing anything. Everyone else was smart enough to see this was some sort of trick.
"Hydra wouldn't have just left that here. Move carefully and let's see what's inside." Paul said. They were all cautious with what they were doing with that crate. So far, Paul's spider sense wasn't alerting him of any danger. If that's the case, it can't be all dangerous. However, when he was just one step away from it, the top popped open with a screen on it with Hydra appearing on the screen.
"Hello, Spider-Man. I knew it would be a matter of time until you found my little home away from home." Hydra said. "It's good to see your little friends, and I'm well aware of who that fourth is. A pleasure to meet you, Miss Sabella Sablinova."
"Hydra..." Paul greeted with annoyance. "I see you're just as slippery and cunning as ever. There's really nothing labeled L.T."
"L.T. stands for Loki's Trick, a little scheme I titled after the Nordic God of Mischief." Hydra said. "I anticipated that you or your friends would find this place eventually. Now that you have, I think it's time for you all to go." That was right when a countdown started with less than a minute.
"It's a bomb!" Paul said. With no time to defuse it, they hurried out of there as fast as they could. They all hurried out the way they came and climbed their way up. They were able to make it to the roof, but that was right when the clock hit zero and the bomb detonated. The explosion knocked Sabella and Thomas in one direction with Paul and Lindsay being knocked the other way.
"Talk about going out with a bang, am I right?" Lindsay joked as they tried to pull themselves together. Before Paul could comment on it, his spider sense alerted him of danger.
"We're not out of the woods yet." Paul said. He turned around and saw Eagle coming at them. He shot a small grappling hook and it coiled around Paul's leg.
"Let's go for a little ride, Spider-Man!" Eagle said as he flew off and tried taking Paul with him.
"Hang on! I've got you!" Lindsay said as she grabbed a hold of him, but she was lifted off the ground as well.
"Who's got you?" Paul complained with Eagle flying away with both of them.
"One more for the ride? Not a problem." Eagle said as he had no problem with taking both of them.
"Any idea where we're even going?" Lindsay questioned.
"Not a clue, but I doubt it's going to be all that fun for us." Paul believed.
...
The Power Plant
Hurricane was assigned to bring down New York's power, but he held off on that as Hydra had something else in mind for him. He looked up and saw Eagle coming in with Spider-Man and Blite. He flew in pretty low and had them crash into the ground before releasing them.
"You okay?" Paul asked as they tried to get back up.
"I think." Lindsay said as that was a rough ride and a rough landing.
"Sweet! Two for the price of one!" Hurricane said.
"Works for us. What do you say we knock the wind right out of both of them?" Eagle said with Hurricane liking the sound of that.
"Hurricane is here too?" Lindsay said.
"Well, this should be fun." Paul said as he jumped up the power plant to get on an even field with them. "The Windmill and the Buzzer... That's certainly an interesting pair. You two make a cute couple."
"Make jokes while you can, Spider-Man." Hurricane said as he was getting excited for this.
"Tonight is the night you finally fall!" Eagle said as he took to the sky and got ready for a fight.
"I'm here too. Don't they know it's rude to ignore a lady?" Lindsay said as she wasn't going to sit out of this fight and hurried her way through the plant.
"Let's have some fun!" Hurricane said as he wasted no time and unleashed powerful forces of wind. It was like a tornado was building through the place.
"Time to silence this wind." Paul said as he jumped through the power plant and tried making his way towards Hurricane, but Hurricane was ready. He had the wind lift some stuff from the ground and tried throwing them at Paul. Paul jumped over that stuff, but Hurricane flew right at him and pounded Paul with him crashing against some parts of the plant. As for Lindsay, she tried her best to resist the wind as she made her way up some stairs.
"Don't worry, sweetheart! We haven't forgotten about you!" Eagle called as he flew around and came right at her. Lindsay ducked down as he flew right over, but he came back around. "Check out what the good doctor gave me!" The feathers from his wings detached and came at her like they had minds of their own, like drones.
"I always knew you were a feather brain, but I think this is overdoing it!" Lindsay said as she ran around avoided the drones. The drones came back around and reattached to him. Paul kept running around as Hurricane kept attacking him with Paul climbing his way up.
"Tell me something, Hurricane. Seems like you have a new partner right there, so why not move on from Monica Whitman already?" Paul joked. "You and Eagle certainly have a lot in common. You're both crazy and caught in your own little world."
"A world that doesn't involve you!" Hurricane declared as he got up to Paul again and tried to strike him, but Paul jumped right over him. When he did that, he kicked Hurricane right in the back and knocked him away.
"Catch, Spider-Man!" Eagle called as he unleashed his drones at Paul this time. Paul jumped out of the way, but they easily turned around.
"Spider, watch it! Those things can operate on their own!" Lindsay called.
"I got this!" Paul said as he webbed one of them and threw it back at Eagle, also allowing him to slip away. Eagle evaded it, and the feathers returned back into place with him. "Blite, I could use a little help here!"
"I'll let you know when I sprout my own wings!" Lindsay complained as it seemed like she was trapped on the ground.
"I have something else in mind." Paul said. Eagle flew straight at Paul to strike him again, but Paul jumped away at the last second and shot a couple lines at him. When Paul got him, he threw Eagle at a catwalk with all his might and Eagle crashed down.
"That all you got?" Eagle said as he got back up. When he did, Lindsay came charging at him with her jumping up and kicking him back with both legs.
"Hopefully that helps." Paul said, but there was no time for him to rest as Hurricane came at him again.
"Come on, Eagle. How many times have we done this dance? You end up falling on your butt every time." Lindsay said.
"Don't worry. This will be our last waltz!" Eagle said as he charged right at her, but Lindsay was ready for that. She flipped back and grabbed a hold of him.
"How about another ride. Oops." Lindsay said as she covered his eyes.
"Hey! Stop that!" Eagle said as he couldn't see where he was going.
"Try that way!" Lindsay said as she tried steering him. She caused Eagle to fly around and had him crash into some things. Not seeing where he was going, he pulled her arms right off.
"Get off!" Eagle said as he tried to shake her off.
"Sure." Lindsay said as she jumped right off. Not realizing where he was going, Paul came swinging around and kicked him back. Paul pushed him down and stomped him down back on the catwalk.
"Sorry about this." Paul said as he gave Eagle one good punch to the face and knocked him out with him webbing him down. "One down, one to go."
"You're not going to cage me so easily!" Hurricane claimed. "Prepared to see why I'm called Hurricane!" He made his wind stronger and formed a tornado in the place.
"I thought it was because he just wanted to sound cool." Paul joked. The wind was getting stronger and getting tougher to resist. Lindsay was doing her best to hold on, but her feet were already lifted off the ground and she was holding on as tight as she could.
"Spider! A little help!" Lindsay called before the wind swept her away. Luckily, Paul acted quickly and shot a line for her.
"I got you!" Paul said as he pulled with all his might. He pulled her in and tried to help her hold down.
"We've got to do something about this storm! Any chance you can strike this storm in the eye?!" Lindsay questioned. Paul tried to figure out how he was going to do just that. He looked at the top of the storm and might have a way.
"I think so." Paul said as he literally let the wind take him away and he flew up there. Paul rode around the wind, avoiding anything the wind might have picked up. He kept moving his way until he got to the top of the tornado and spotted Hurricane. "There you are!" He shot a couple lines that were able to attach to Hurricane.
"What the hell?!" Hurricane questioned as Paul pulled himself closer to Hurricane. When he got close enough, he placed himself right on him and decked him around in the face a few times, stopping the wind storm in the process. Once he got Hurricane right where he wanted him, Paul shot a couple lines down and shot himself like a slingshot and tackled Hurricane. He smashed Hurricane against the ground and did some damage.
"Your parents should have grounded you more." Paul joked.
"You think that will stop me? I don't think so." Hurricane said as he got back up and was going to keep fighting, but he was suddenly electrocuted for a few seconds before getting kicked in the back of the head by Blite with her hold a live cord.
"He really is a big bag of wind, isn't he? Full of a lot of hot air." Lindsay joked.
"Yeah..." Paul said as he webbed him to the ground as well. "At least we got these two. That means..." Paul tried to hold himself together, but he collapsed from exhaustion and dropped to the ground, but Lindsay caught him.
"Hey! Are you okay?!" Lindsay said as she tried to keep him away.
"Just need to rest for a few minutes..." Paul said and drifted off to sleep. He's already exhausted and he managed to beat only two of them. How is he going to hold and last against the remaining four? This might certainly be one of his biggest challenges yet.
