Sango walked with Miroku over to Kaede's hut where everyone else was sitting and eating Kagome's delicious food. Inuyasha was stuffing his face with Ramen again.
Oh Sango, Miroku your back, Shippo stated.
Sango blushed and Miroku just smiled. Kirara walked silently over to Sango and started purring. After a little bit to eat Sango and Miroku stood up.
We have an announcement to make, Miroku said.
Yes, we are getting married, Sango blurted out.
Everyone had a dumb founded look on their faces even though they knew it was bound to happen. Kagome congratulated them and started to help Sango plan her wedding right away. Since they had just defeated their foe Naraku and got all but one piece of the jewel they could live freely. Kikyo was sent back to hell and life was good.
Miroku seemed very happy and Sango was just glad they wouldn't look at her strangely when she was near Miroku anymore. Everyone seemed to be excited about the wedding. Even Inuyasha was a little edgy.
Shippo was sleeping in Kaede's hut. Kirara was off fighting some small demons. Kagome and Sango went off to market to get some supplies. Miroku had gone to a quiet place in the village to think. So that left Inuyasha alone by the bone eaters well. He was holding the almost fully formed Shikon Jewel in his hand and thinking of what he should do when they got the last shard.
He remembered back to when they defeated Naraku. Inuyasha had used the backlash wave to kill Kagura and Kanna. Naraku was weak and about to die as well.
Hahahahahaha! Naraku smirked; you will never get the last jewel shard.
Naraku reached for Kohaku as Kagome pulled back her bow string with the arrow safely in place and Inuyasha got ready to spring into action ready to do wind scar at any second. Miroku was total worn out from using the wind tunnel on Naraku's venom wasps. Sango and Kirara were trying to help him using Kagome's medical kit. She looked up to see Naraku and Kohaku.
No! She screamed out.
Naraku pulled out the shard and threw it to his last wasp, Now you will never find it.
Kagome shot her arrow and Inuyasha leapt up and did wind scar. The attack had ripped Naraku apart. Inuyasha went after the wasp and Sango ran over to her brother. Tears dripped down her face. Kagome looked over Miroku quickly.
Sango, I don't think Miroku is going to make it this time, Kagome yelled.
Sango looked sadly over at her little brother's lifeless body. She kissed him over the forehead, then got up and ran to Miroku's side.
He just can't die after he worked so hard to get rid of the void in his hand, she whispered.
Inuyasha came back a couple minutes later.
Damn, I could find that stupid wasp, he said aloud, oh yeah, here Kagome, he said as he threw something to her.
What's this? She wondered.
She looked at it carefully and saw it was the herb they needed to cure Miroku. Kagome crushed the root up as Sango feed it to Miroku. They wouldn't know if Miroku would live for a few days so they all went back to Kaede's Village to rest up.
Inuyasha picked up the red scarf and hat he had gotten from Kagome a few Christmases ago, and he remembered there first kiss under the mistletoe. Now that Kikyo was gone he didn't have to worry about her interfering. But he still hadn't got up the courage to say I love you to Kagome yet.
