While all the others were down in HQ, Arnold had awakened, still tired but he wanted to get up anyhow. He yawned as he sat up. He looked over and saw his wife all snug and warm. Arnold only smiled.

Arnold decided to turn on the TV to the news channel, only to be shocked by what he was seeing.

BREAKING.

Police Commissioner, Commissioner Gallup, has passed away due to severe head trauma, and second-degree burns sustained from yesterday's accident at the power plant.

The Police Department declined any comment on the situation. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the commissioner's family.

Arnold felt more determined than ever as he wanted to find out all about the accident that had occurred. Arnold only hung his head as he now felt extremely frustrated and upset. A long-time friend, now gone…

"A word now from the Police Department and its Chief."

"We are deeply saddened by the death of our long-time and beloved police commissioner, but it also gives us a fresh, new start for the Hillwood Police Department. And while the Commissioner considered retirement during the past couple of months, we had also taken the time to look for a replacement Commissioner. Our new replacement seemed like a very good replacement as she had also proposed a new rule, against our vigilantes roaming the night. Here now, the new Police Commissioner… Ellen Goodell!"

Ellen stepped up to the podium and cleared her throat. "Good evening, people of Hillwood. First off, I want to thank the Police Chief for choosing me as the new Commissioner, and my thoughts are with Gallups' family and friends. But yes, the Chief mentioned a new rule I had proposed, specifically against those shadowed vigilantes! we will NOT work with them! They are nothing less than the criminals that roam the streets! And I have made it my sworn duty that I will have those five arrested, along with their allies!

"You heard it here first, on Channel Nine." The reporter said.

Arnold couldn't believe his ears. The new commissioner was demanding not to work with his team and even wanted to arrest them.

Soon, Rhonda was waking up as she kissed Arnold's cheek and giggled. "Morning, sweetie-kuns!" Arnold didn't answer. "Arnold? Arnold, sweetie, are you alright? Sweetheart, talk to me!"

"Huh? Wh- What? Oh, sorry sweetie. I'm… I'm just not in a good mood…" As much as Rhonda wanted to make a sexual joke, she heard the seriousness in his voice. "What's wrong…?"

"The commissioner's dead."

"Wait, what?! But-"

"The replacement commissioner wants no part in working with us and even wants to ARREST US!"

"What?! This can't be happening! Why would the new commissioner not want to work with us?!"

"Who knows, sweetheart? All we know is, looks like the entire police force has turned against us." Arnold pulled Rhonda into a hug as he stroked her hair. Rhonda only hugged Arnold tightly as she didn't know what was next.

The team down in the lair was notified by Impulse. They all couldn't believe it.

"Guys, hold me back before I smash my fist in that commissioner's skull…" Spinelli said in a quiet rage tone. "You'd probably make things worse like that…" Nadine lowered her eyelids.

"Well, what the fuck are we supposed to do now?! We have the entire police force turning on us! What's next, the entire U.S Army?!" Spinelli replied. They all looked at each other in grief, not knowing what was next.

Throughout the day, while they were in grief and disappointment when the commissioner passed away, they still had to continue on with their day.

It was around three-thirty, Arnold and Rhonda got back from Christmas shopping, but while they did enjoy it, they couldn't enjoy it to its fullest since the commissioner passed away.

They stored all the presents in their room so nobody could get an early peek. While they put away their stuff, Rhonda then saw a picture in her drawer.

"Awww. Arnold, hun, look what I found!" Rhonda pulled out an old picture of the two. It was their prom picture. Arnold only smiled as he kissed her from behind and hugged her. "I remember that, our prom photos! I even remember how beautiful you were that night." Arnold slowly kissed Rhonda's cheek.

"And I think we also had some bedtime fun that night." Rhonda gave a sexy growl as she nibbled at his ear. Arnold chuckled at first, but then had a sad look on his face. "What's wrong, honey?"

"Nothing, it's just… throughout this week, two tragedies, and those tragedies we couldn't do anything about… and it really has me thinking… will we still be here for our daughter? I- I don't know what to say!" Arnold had tears in his eyes before Rhonda gave him a tight hug.

"Arnold, we'll always be here for our daughter. We'll always make the most of each day, and live it like it's our last. But most importantly, we'll cherish every second we have together." Rhonda gave a quick comforting kiss before she kept hugging him. Arnold felt a little calmer as he hugged her.

"So… What did you get me for my Christmas presents, mm?" Rhonda smirked at Arnold as she merely kissed him. "Not so fast there, hun. No early peeking." Arnold smirked.

"Just a tiny hint? Pwease?" Rhonda tried giving her puppy eyes. Arnold only looked away. "No early hints either."

"Dammit…!" She crossed her arms. Arnold smiled as he kissed her forehead. "Love you, hun!"

"Oh, I can't stay mad at you forever, my honey bun!" Rhonda kissed Arnold back. "In the meantime, why don't you do something else while I go with Impulse and wrap all these presents? Quite a load of them too…"

"Can't I help?"

"That technically ruins your surprise."

"Aw, man…"

"I think you'll know what to do in the meantime. Love you, sweetie!" Arnold kissed her once more. "Later, hun!" Rhonda kissed Arnold back.

A Few Hours Later

Rhonda was downstairs playing video games with Olivia, at first wondering why she was so into it until she remembered that it was in her genes. Olivia had traits of both of them.

"Tied at twenty-five? Guess I underestimated you." Olivia looked at her mother. "You don't know how good I was during your age. One of the best female guards and pass rushers! How else did you think I impressed your father?"

"That's how you two got together?" Olivia briefly paused the game. "Not exactly… but it was the start of our love…" Rhonda sighed lovingly. "The good days."

"I bet they were… Let's get back to this?"

"You're on!" Rhonda smirked.

As the two kept duking it out on the recently released football game, Arnold was still upstairs as he wrapped the final presents.

"And…. there we are!" Arnold finished wrapping Rhonda's presents. "Sir, an incoming call from the Mayor."

"The Mayor?! Answer it!"

"Ah, well if it isn't my favorite billionaire? Mr. Shortman! How's everything going? How's your wife and daughter doing during these cold days?"

"Mayor Cooper! What a surprise! My wife and daughter are doing great despite record temperatures this winter. How's everything with you? Anything I can do for you?"

"Well actually, I was wondering if we could hold a Christmas charity event at a place I have in mind. It'll be in the morning so you and your family can enjoy Christmas together. How does that sound?"

"Sounds perfect, Mr. Cooper."

"Perfect! And just know, we'll also be having our future humanitarian of the year down at the charity party!"

"Alright, great! See you later, Mr. Mayor." After the call ended, Arnold merely rolled his eyes. Sure he loved charities and all that, and he always helped out any way he could, but never liked hosting parties.

"Alright great… we got some extra work on our hands by the looks of it… Care to help out, Impulse?"

"I'll be glad to help, Sir." Arnold then smiled. "Thanks, Impulse."

The Night Before Christmas

The convention charity was crowded with mostly rich people, along with the police force to keep an eye on the place in case anyone tried anything. Arnold and Rhonda watched while the others. They were all dressed in fancy clothes, though Spinelli didn't adjust to it as she preferred her regular clothing but had to do it anyhow.

"How long will this be? I don't like the idea we had to wake up THIS early… And why the fuck is it this cold, hun? I feel my back freezing!"

"You probably shouldn't have worn a dress that exposed your back… especially with the fact someone would probably try and hit on you."

"Oh Arnold, I have this ring on my finger, so it's more than clear I belong with my special honey bun!" Rhonda yanked Arnold's tie as she kissed him.

Arnold had a lovesick look once they separated.

"Uh, Arnold? Is it just me, or are temperatures dropping? It's starting to get cold here." Arnold immediately put his jacket over her. "This doesn't seem right… Impulse, I need a weather update, now."

Right as Impulse was about to respond, a loud helicopter flew above. A wall then froze up with ice.

"Boy, it's gotten a teeny bit cold in here…" The Mayor said.

"It's already cold here, and that is with this dress that's been exposing my back!" Spinelli complained.

The frozen wall soon bursted.

One chapter today since I feel tired as sh*t, but also because Monday's are never my days...
