Chapter 2: The Message -
"That's odd" gregor thought they didn't get many rats on the farm, the family prided themselves on that as it was the only thing they were any good at "maybe I'll go tell mom-" He stopped himself halfway to the door, how had he forgotten already the argument they'd gotten in. As he turned around he was about to leap onto his bed, when "aghh" he screamed "What the bloody hell?!" there where three rats sat on his bedroom carpet, chewing at the bed post, "Shew, sheww" he grabbed his tennis racket and they rushed out his window and jumped out, he closed the window and made sure to lock it.
"What's going on" his mom shouted, crashing through his door "I heard a commotion!"
"rats" responded Gregor dumbfounded, he'd just spotted a small scroll on the floor slid just under his bed, if his mother noticed it he'd be dead.
"What?!" shreaked his mother, "We never have... no, you don't mean..?"
"no no no, I don't think so!" He said, whilst discretely sliding the scroll under his bed. Grace looked at him suspiciously, and said, "hmmm, wellll, it's dinner anyway, so come on down to the dining room". Gregor hesitated... "well come on then" she said.
Gregor wolfed down the food as quickly as possible so that he could go back upstairs and read the note, could it possibly be from the Underland? Did he actually see it or was he going mad? He just couldn't wait to go back upsatirs, maybe he could see Luxa, Mareth, and Vikus and everyone again! No he was getting ahead oh himself, he'd probably just imagined it, he finished the meal, and excused himself "that was quick, what are you in a rush for?" said his dad, who had barely picked up his knife and fork.
"ermm, just hugry that's all" he replied.
"hmmm, ok" his dad replied, not convinced, Gregor rushed upstairs, crashed through his door and checked under his bed, he snached the scroll from the floor and swiftly read though it:
Gregor, we are yet again in need of your aid Nerrisa has been having yet more visions as of late, she has written a new prophecy with you included! we understand if you do not wish to return but Luxa is rather exited for your possible return, she would be greatly thankful if you were to help as this prophecy seems more drastic and devestating than all prior I know you probably do not wish to hear this but unfortunaly, Vikus had passed not a week ago, his funeral will be held on Saturday the Seventeenth of August. We hope you can arrive before then. The prophecy is held enclosed.
-Mareth
This was big, he could finaly have the chance to go back to the Underland, no, his parents would never let him, but he had to, he had to see everyone again, he missed them so much everyday! He'd have to find a way to convince his parent to let him go back down, but how? He picked up his phone and dialed a number "I need your help with something" he said.
