Preparations For The Galla
Ranma and his three students: Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Flash Sentry, were all jogging to school once again. It had been a whole week since Ranma's fight with Ryoga and life had started to get back to normal. Ranma looked back at his three students and noticed that they were actually moving a little more easily than usual.
'I guess it's about time to up their weights again.' Ranma thought to himself as the school came within eye sight. A small smile graced his face as he thought back to how his life had changed since coming to Canterlot. As he and his students/friends came upon the school and saw the rest of their group of friends, they slowed down and greeted the rest of their group. But Ranma noticed that quite a few of the other students of Canterlot High were there as well.
"Um, guys, what's with the crowd?" Ranma asked to, pretty much anyone in the group. Sunset was the one to answer.
"Well, sensei of the year. These guys all came out because they want to ask to be your students." Ranma went wide eyed and slack jawed.
"Wh-what?" Was all he managed to say. Even Rainbow and Flash were shocked.
"Whoa whoa whoa, back up. Since when did this many people want to become Ranma's students?" She asked. Rarity walked up with a smug look on her face.
"Actually, it was the fight last week that got a lot of people talking. But in all honesty, it was Flash here that really got people thinking about it." Flash was stunned.
"Me?" He asked, wide eyed. "Wh-why?" Pinkie jumped up from behind Rarity.
"Yeah you! Ever since you started training with Ranma and became the go to guy for taking care of Kuno, a lot of people who have been bullied around have been wondering if maybe they can become badass fighters like you if Ranma trained them!" She said as she acted out a lot of goofy kung fu moves. Ranma and Flash looked at each other.
"Um, well...Got anything to say sensei?" Ranma thought for a moment.
"Well," Applejack started to say. "To be fair Ranma, Master Asia did say that you should be more open about training other people. He did say that you were the one meant to pass on his style after all." Ranma nodded his head at that. After a few more seconds of thinking, he looked at the gathered crowd of students.
"Alright. Listen up! If you guys really want to train with me, you need to understand that it won't be easy. Flash and the others can tell you that I don't like going easy on people. But since you guys are all trial students, I won't go as hard on you guys as I do these three as of yet." He said in a commanding tone of voice.
"I'll hold a trial class for anyone who wants to learn from me today after school, at the park around 4:00. IF you're serious about wanting to learn martial arts, then show up wearing baggy clothes. And bring you're A game. Is that understood?" He asked. A lot of the gathered students stood straight at attention and saluted the pigtailed boy.
"SIR YES SIR!" They all called out. After that, they all headed into the school. As the group of friends were walking into the school, Sunset, Pinkie and Rainbow all strutted up close to Ranma with smug looks on their faces.
"Well, well, well, look who's becoming mister popular all of a sudden?" Sunset said with a grin.
"Looks like you're starting your own kung fu empire, sensei-kun." Pinkie said, punctuating the last word with a flirtatious tone. Rainbow Dash just chuckled at the mounting blush on Ranma's face.
"Yeah. Soooo, what's going to be on the agenda for your NEW students Ranma-sensei?" Ranma tried his best to bury his face in his shirt to hide his blush.
"Look, girls, just stop, ok? I really don't know if any of these guys are going to stick with it. I mean, I was surprised that Flash stuck with martial arts."
"HEY!" Flash blurted out.
"Sorry." Ranma quickly apologized. "It's just, I'm not used to training people from scratch. I mean, one or two at a time, like Applejack and Flash, sure. And Applejack picked things up pretty quickly. But I'm not sure if I can handle so many newbies at a time."
"Well," Flash stepped in. "Maybe me, Rainbow and Applejack can help you out? You know, so you don't get so overwhelmed."
"Yeah! We've learned enough to know how to teach some newbies the basics." Said Rainbow Dash, pumping her fist into the air. Applejack chuckled at her friend's enthusiasm.
"Well, I think we can handle that. If it's ok with you, sensei." Ranma couldn't help but smile at his friends. Not half a year ago, he had no one to lean on for help except Master Asia. Now look at him. Eight close friends, three of which are his first few students, and now he had other people lining up asking him to let them become his students! Karma was being nice to him a lot lately.
"Thanks guys." He said with a nod. "I think between the four of us, it shouldn't be too much trouble."
And with that said, they headed off to their first periods of the day. While all of this was going on, Celestia was in her office going through some paperwork and mail with her sister, Luna. As they were going through the various letters, one caught Celestia's eye. She opened it and smiled.
"Well, it's finally here," Celestia said. Luna looked over at what her sister was holding.
"Are you sure you want to do this, sis?" She asked in an unsure tone. Celestia nodded her head.
"I'm quite sure Luna. Believe me, this is going to make things at the Galla far more fun than they usually are."
Later at lunch, Ranma and the others were sitting down to enjoy their meals as Ranma, Twilight, and Rainbow were going over what to teach at Ranma's interdictory class.
"Stance work should be one of the most important things to work on for newbies. We should at least get them started on that." Ranma said as Twilight jutted down the suggestions the others were shooting her way.
"Yeah, but since these guys won't be as serious as me, AJ and Flash, we can't expect to keep them around if we have them do stance work all day, we need to get them started on some basic stuff first." Rainbow chimed in. "I say we get them started on basic punches and at least the first kata." Applejack nodded and so did Ranma and Flash.
"And if any of them are good enough with their legs, we should start them off on a few kicking drills." Applejack added in.
"And maybe add a few of those basic joint locks too." Flash added in. Sunset smirked at her four martial arts friends.
"Aw, look at you guys, planning your future careers as dojo owners." Pinkie wrapped an arm around Sunset's shoulders.
"Yeah, they grow up so fast, don't they?" She said. That got a chuckle out of the others. Ranma chuckled as well.
"Yeah, well..."
"I hope you're not thinking about dropping out just so you can teach martial arts, Ranma." Came Celestia's voice as she butted into the conversation between the two young men and seven women.
"Hi principle Celestia!" Everyone except Ranma said.
"Hey PC. Come to cause me trouble again? Or do you want me to start things off today?" Ranma asked with a smirk on his face. Celestia just shook her head with a chuckle.
"No, not today Ranma. Actually, I have something I want to give you and your friends." This caught everyone by surprise.
"Oh really? And just what, pray tell, is that?" He asked with a suspicious look on his face. Celestia reached into her pocket and pulled out a handful of tickets.
"I just thought the girls would like to come to the biggest party of the before summer season. I mean, I had planned on inviting them but I figured you might like to come too Ranma. Sorry Flash, but I didn't get one for you." Flash shrugged, but then asked.
"A ticket to what?" As the girls took their tickets, Rarity screamed out in a pitch so high, a few glass windows shattered.
"Tickets to the Grand GALLA!" As she and the other girls all let out screams of excitement and joy, Celestia, Ranma and Flash all plugged their ears.
"Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!" Rainbow Dash said, bouncing up and down with excitement.
"I can't believe it! Actual tickets to the Grand GALLA!" Pinkie cried out, looking as if she were about to explode with happiness.
"Oh wow! I can't believe it!" Said Fluttershy.
"Principle Celestia, why give these to us?" Twilight asked.
"In other words, what's the catch?" Sunset asked, trying desperately to hide her own excitement. Celestia chuckled slightly.
"No catch. Just..."
"Um, excuse me." Ranma interrupted. "Just what the heck is going on? What the heck is Grand Whatever Galla thing?" He asked, his confusion evident in his tone and on his face. Pinkie tugged at his shoulder.
"The Grand Galla is the BIGGEST party in Canterlot!" The deep pink-haired girl cried in excitement. "It's held once a year, a few weeks before the end of the school year. All the fanciest, most important people around the area get together and party till dawn! And best of all, I hear that there's a buffet full of the best looking and tasting deserts a person has ever seen!" Pinkie cried as she started daydreaming about all those tasty deserts. Ranma leaned over and clapped his hands together to snap her out of her trance.
"Not only that," Twilight chimed in. "But all kinds of very important people come out to attend. Local artists, musicians and scientists."
"Not to mention the WONDER BOLTS!" Rainbow Dash said with stars in her eyes.
"The who?" Ranma asked. Rainbow turned to him, the stars fading from her eyes.
"The Wonder Bolts! They're a team of airplane pilots who specialize in arieal acrobatic displays. It's my dream to one day join them."
"Oh." Ranma said as he finally started to get an understanding of why the others seemed so excited about this Galla.
"Not only that," Fluttershy added. "But there's also this garden close by the place where they hold the Galla where everyone lets their pets play in. It's my dream to go there and play with all the rare and exotic animals that frolic there!" Ranma could swear that he saw an aura of flowers and fairies flying around Fluttershy as she fell into her own little world.
"And not to mention, a perfect opportunity to drum up some business for the good old Apple family farm." Applejack said as she started to make plans in her head.
"So," Ranma started to ask. "The only reason you want to go, AJ, is to try and sell some apples to the high-class rich snobs?" Applejack turned to him.
"Not just plain apples," she said. "But all the different kinds of apple goods that can be made from them. Apple freeters, apple cider, apple pie, apple crepes, and everything else I can think of. If those high society folks get a taste of my family's apples, then I'm sure that they'll come by for even more and might even promote them!" She said with dollar signs in her eyes.
Ranma shook his head at her. Who knew Applejack had such a money hungry streak in her? As Ranma finished shaking his head, he looked over to Rarity, who was still drooling over her ticket.
"And what exactly is your reason for being so excited about this fancy little shindig Rares?" He asked his fashion-conscious friend. She composed herself as best she could before looking away bashfully.
"Oh. Nothing big really. Just..." She paused for dramatic effect. "I'm hoping to find my prince charming!" She exclaimed. Ranma and some of the others just looked at her with a deadpanned look.
"Say what?" He asked. And he soon regretted it, as Rarity went into a whole monologue about how she would meet her dreamland prince charming. Ranma got so bored by it that he tuned her out and turned to Sunset.
"And as for our favorite biker girl?" He asked, desperate to find some way out of listening to the fashionista who wanted to live her life like a fairy tale. Sunset just looked at Ranma, a faraway look in her eye.
"Well," She started. "I really don't have a big reason like the others," she said.
"But, back in Equestria, we had our own Grand "Galloping" Galla. I always wanted to go with Princess Celestia, but I never got the chance." She looked back down at her ticket, a sad smile on her face.
"I guess, I just want to go to this one to make up for not getting a chance to go to the one back home." Ranma didn't know what to say. It seemed to him that out of all of his friends, Sunset seemed to be the only one with a true heart felt reason to go. But that still left one question that he still had.
"But, why the heck did you give me one?" He asked the principle. "From the sound of it, this sounds like something I would rather skip out on." Celestia smirked, an evil glint hidden in the corner of her eye.
"Oh, well, while I fully intended to give all the girls tickets, I thought it would be a fun idea to invite you along. Mostly because I don't want my favorite students going to a big 'grown up' party like this without a strong bodyguard to look after them." She said with cheeky smile.
"So, you just want me to be their bodyguard and a piece of arm candy?" He asked, raising an eyebrow and crossing his arms.
"Maybe..." Celestia said in a sing-song voice, trying her best to look innocent. In response, Rama just nonchalantly tossed his ticket behind him.
"Pass." He said. Rarity screamed and jumped to retrieve his ticket.
"RANMA!" She screamed at the pigtailed boy. "What do you think you're doing!?" She said as she hugged the ticket to her chest.
"I'm not going." Was all he said.
"WHAT!?" All the girls said at once. Ranma just reclined in his chair.
"You heard me," he said.
"Saw that one coming." Flash said, taking a sip of his drink.
"B-but why!?" Rarity asked almost hysterically.
"It sounds lame, dumb, stupid, and I feel like I'd have more fun yanking all my hair out than going to some lame party for rich snobs who only go to these things to brag about who's richer than somebody else." He said, listing off his reason on his fingers.
"But Ranma," Fluttershy said to her friend. "I'm sure it won't be that bad."
"Yeah!" Rainbow said. "Come on Ranma. I'm sure you'd have some fun if you went."
"Yeah." Twilight chimed in. "And with all of us together, how could we not have fun?"
"Like this." Ranma said as he put his feet on the table, laid back and closed his eyes and snored loudly. The others just shook their heads at their friends' antics. Sunset reached over and bopped Ranma on the back of his head.
"Look Mr. Cool." She said to the uninterested martial artist. "Just because you think it's lame and uninteresting doesn't mean it will be or that other people feel the same way."
"I know that." Ranma replied. "And I'm sure you'll all have a good time, but that doesn't mean I have to go with you guys if I don't want to." He said, rubbing his head.
"Deal with him girls. I expect all of you there." Celestia said as she walked way, swaying her hips as she did so.
"Why do you want him to go so badly?" Flash asked.
"Yeah, what's your angle PC?" Ranma chimed in.
"Ranma, Principle Celestia doesn't always have to have a..." Twilight started to say then pause as a look of realization dawned on her face.
"Ok, yeah, what's your angle?" She asked, leaning over the table. Celestia just kept walking away, swaying her hips.
"I have my reasons." Was all she said as she sauntered away. As she left, Pinkie was torn away from her starring at her large badonkadonk by Applejack.
"Stick to the script Pinkie." She said. Pinkie chuckled sheepishly as she scratched the back of her head.
"Right. Sorry." She said as the two of them looked back at the others trying to talk Ranma into going to the Galla.
"Come on Ranma!" Twilight was saying. "Just go with us!"
Ranma just shook his head.
"Sorry, but no." He said, turning his head to the side. Rarity growled at the stuborn martial artist. Well, she still had one last trump card up her sleeve.
"PINKIE! FLUTTERSHY! TO ME!" She cried and the two girls in question zipped over to her side.
"I didn't want to do this, but we had no choice! It's time for, the Doomsday Option!" Rarity said dramatically. Pinkie and Fluttershy started looking nervous.
"Um, are you sure Rarity?" Pinkie asked. Fluttershy hugged herself.
"I...I don't want to..."
"WE HAVE NO CHOICE!" Rarity said, determination burning in her eyes. The other two looked at each other, frowning sadly before finally sighing and nodding their heads. All three of them took a deep breath...and then gave Ranma the puppy dog eyes.
Ranma felt a burning sensation for some reason. He opened his eyes and panicked upon seeing the three puppy dog eyed girls.
"Wha-what the heck!?" He said, nearly falling out of his seat. The three in question kept staring at him with those big puppy dog eyes, adding in sniffles, pouts, and trembling lips, all while seeming as if they were on the verge of crying.
Flash and the other girls felt sorry for Ranma. No one alive has ever survived the triple threat of Rarity, Pinkie and Fluttershy giving them the triple puppy dog eyes of death. Ranma tried to look away, closed his eyes, even tried to cover his face so that there was no way he could look at their faces. But even if he wasn't looking, he could still feel the burn of their stares.
"Stop it." He said. "Cut it out! IT BURNS!" He said, acting as if he was in serious pain.
The girls kept their assault up. A tear even started forming in the corner of Fluttershy's eye. Ranma closed his eyes even tighter. He tried to resist, he tried hard...but it was no use.
"ALRIGHT!" He said in defeat. "Alright! I give up! Just stop with the eyes! They burn!"
The three girls stopped and started smirking. Another victory for the puppy dog eyed Doomsday Option.
"No one can resist our ultimate technique." Rarity said smiling in triumph. Ranma glared at the purple haired girl.
"You little sneek." He said, and then looked at the other two girls. "And you guys, I can't believe you'd go along with that scheme of hers."
Fluttershy looked away in shame.
"I'm sorry Ranma, But I really do want you to come along with us. But just know I really didn't want to have to use that on you." Pinkie slung her arm around Ranma's shoulders.
"I'm sorry too Ranma-kun, but just think about all the fun we're going to have at that party with all 8 of us there!"
Ranma shook his head. How exactly did this lunch hour turn from talking about his upcoming class of students to getting roped into going to some stupid party for rich high society snobs that are probably worse than Rarity when she's in a mood.
The day went by without too much trouble after that. Afterwards, Ranma, Flash, Rainbow Dash and Applejack headed to the park where Ranma told his prospective students to meet them. He was surprised that almost all of them actually showed up. With a smile on his face, Ranma went to the front of the large group.
"ALRIGHT! PIPE DOWN AND STAND AT ATTENTION!" Ranma said, using his ki to enhance his voice. All the kids were shocked at the loud voice and stood straight at his commanding tone.
"Ok, listen up. I promised that I wouldn't go too hard on you guys, but I'm also going to tell you this: Martial arts are NOT some dumb game. I take martial arts very seriously, and if you're going to be my students, you need to understand that I expect you to take training seriously."
All the students could feel the conviction in his words. Some of them started shaking a little bit, but others just swallowed hard and stood straighter.
"Now just listen up, I'm going to start you off on the basics. You're training won't be as hard as the training that me and my three original students go through, but I will say this, if you can survive what I put you through, you will grow stronger." He looked around at the crowd.
"Now, everyone line up into rows. Flash, Rainbow, AJ! Help me break up them up into groups and go through the basic blocks and stances with each group, ok?" He said to his three main students.
They all nodded their heads and saluted their sensei. An hour went by and Ranma was surprised, a lot of them actually didn't get as frustrated as he thought they would. Some of them actually showed a slight aptitude for martial arts. Afterwards, Ranma lined them up and told them to meet back the day after tomorrow for their next lesson.
After the crowd dispersed, Ranma couldn't help but smile. And Rainbow couldn't help but take a shot at teasing her friend and mentor.
"Well, well, mister sensei. You look awfully happy with yourself." She said with a grin. Ranma scratched the back of his head and smiled sheepishly.
"Well, I guess, I..." Flash slung his arm around Ranma's shoulders.
"You must be one of the fastest growing sensei's in history. Only a few months and you went from two students to three and now a whole park's worth of students at your beck and call."
Ranma tried to shrug the two of them off. He didn't know it, but he was blushing form all their teasing.
"I hope you're not planning on replacing us as your favorite students, sensei." Applejack said as she nudged Ranma in the arm.
"Guys, cut it out will ya?" Ranma said as he tried to break away from his three teasing friends.
When Ranma returned home, Master Asia was surprised to hear about Ranma's growing group of students.
"Well, I know I said I thought you were ready to start teaching, but I didn't expect you to accumulate such a large group of students this quickly." He said to his young disciple. Ranma chuckled.
"I know. And I wish that was the only thing I had to worry about, but now I've been roped into going to some stupid party or whatever." This got Master Asia to raise an eyebrow.
"What party?" He asked. Ranma scratched the back of his head and told his master about the Galla that Celestia had convinced the girls to rope him into. Asia couldn't help but chuckle.
"Ha ha ha! The Grand Galla huh? Never thought she'd invite you to that." He says to his young protégé. Ranma just glared at his master.
"But why would she even want me there!? I feel like she's punishing me for something, for what, I don't know." Ranma said, crossing his arms. Master Asia shook his head.
"Well, whatever her reason, you promised your girlfriends that you'd go, so too late now." He said, smirking. Ranma growled at him.
"They are not my girlfriends," says Ranma. "But yeah, I dug my grave, now I've got to lay in it."
Ranma then headed up to his room for the night. As he did, Master Asia shook his head.
"Never a dull moment with that boy." He said as he stroked his face as he began to ponder what his student had just told him.
"Hm. What are you up to this time Celestia?" he asked himself. "If you're roping him into going to the Galla..." He trailed off as many different thoughts came to his mind.
"Something tells me that people will be talking about this Galla for a long time to come."
The next day, Ranma was trying to think about anything except the stupid Galla he was basically being forced to go to. As lunch rolled on by, Ranma and the others were just sitting down to eat, when he and Pinkie both felt something evil coming their way.
"Do you sense that Pinkie?" Ranma asked his crazy friend. Pinkie nodded.
"My Pinkie sense is telling me, something wicked this way comes." She said in a foreboding tone. And sure enough, from the cafeteria entrance, came the Dazzlings.
"Evil..." Pinkie said as she narrowed her eyes at the three women entering the cafeteria. Ranma, thinking that he might be able to have some fun, got up and strolled over to the leader of the three women.
"Well, well, well, look what crawled out of the trash." He said as he and Adagio locked eyes.
"I was about to say the same thing when I saw you and your sluts over there." She said as she glared at the pig tailed boy. He glared harder at the frizzy haired siren.
"Oh, is that so?" He said as he cracked his knuckles. "The only sluts I can see at the moment is the three in front of me."
Sonata Dust looked from side to side, trying to see the three Ranma was talking about.
"Um, what three sluts?" She asked. "I don't see any three people in front of him except us."
Adagio and Aria face palmed as Ranma just pinched his nose and shook his head. Aria leaned in close to the other girl.
"He was talking about us, stupid." She said to her friend. Sonata makes an 'O' shape with her mouth.
"Ooooohhhhhh," she said. Then a light bulb clicked on in her head.
"Hey!" She said, Ranma chuckled to himself.
"Anyway," he said as he slicked his bangs back. "I'm surprised that you managed to drag yourself back here after what happened last time. Did you miss me that much?"
Adagio glared harder at the boy, hoping that he would just burst into flames.
"Yeah, I missed you like how I miss the people in Equestria that banished me to this hellhole." She replied. Ranma chuckled.
"Honestly, I can see why they did, from what I heard, those horses hate the nails on a chalk board noise that comes out of your mouth every time you sing."
"OOHHHHHHH!" Pinkie said. "Now that's a burn!"
"Yeah, a SPICY burn." Rainbow added in.
Adagio growled at the two girls.
"Oh no, Mount Saint Whorio is about to erupt! Quick! Run for your lives!" Ranma said, pretending to be in a panic. The whole cafeteria erupted in an uproar of laughter at that. Adagio was actually starting to turn red from both anger and embarrassment. But before she could retort Aria clasped her hand over the orange haired girls mouth.
"Um, Adagio, I know you want to get back at him, but let's sit down, eat and then come up with a plan. And let's do it now before you say something that'll make him punch you through the wall again."
Adagio HATED being told what to do, but she knew Aria was right. She nodded her head and the three sirens walked off.
"Just watch your back pigtail. I'll find a way to get you one day. And your little cheerleading squad too." She said in a huff as she and her two followers headed off to get their food.
"THANK YOU!" Ranma said as he did an extravagant bow and headed back to his seat as most of the cafeteria, even the lunch ladies, applauded him. As he walked back to his group of friends, they couldn't help but applaud him as well. As he took a bow and returned to his seat, Sunset nudged him in the shoulder.
"Proud of yourself, tough guy?" She asked with a smirk. Ranma smiled sheepishly.
"A little bit, yeah." He replied. Rarity took this opportunity to clear her throat.
"Meanwhile," She said. "Back to reality, Ranma, do you happen to have a suit?"
"Yeah." He said. "I have plenty of suits."
Rarity suddenly had a huge smile on her face.
"Really!?" She said. Only for Ranma's next words deflate her smile.
"Yeah, I have plenty of Chinese suits back home. I have some in red, blue, black, even green..."
"NO!" She screamed so loud that the whole building started to shake. Ranma flinched backwards.
"NOT your usual Kung Fu get ups! I mean an actual suit! You know: white shirt, black coat and pants, a vest and tie. That kind of suit!" She said, her appearance covered by a blue and purple battle aura that made him a little scared.
"Um...no...?" He said, his fear evident by the nervous smile and sweat on his face. Rarity started to glare and growl at the pigtailed boy. She was on the verge of screaming when the other girls ran up to her and tried to calm her down.
"Chill out Rarity." Sunset said.
"Yeah, just breath. Breath!" Said Twilight, stroking her friends head. Pinkie tried to keep Rarity away from Ranma by embracing her in a big bear hug.
"Just relax. Just relax. Just imagine your happy place." She said, trying to pacify the purple haired girl's anger.
"J-just stay calm Rarity." Fluttershy said.
"Calm. CALM!" Rairty said, breaking free of her friends. "HOW CAN I STAY CALM! Ranma is supposed to attend a very exclusive high society event with us, and he says he doesn't have a suit for the occasion!?"
"Um, Rarity," Applejack butted in. "You do know that Ranma has never really had a need for a suit before, right?"
"Yeah," Rainbow added in. "I mean, he did say that he's been on the road all his life. No real reason to have a suit. Ya know?"
Rarity could see the reason in her friend's words, but that didn't mean she liked it. She took a deep, calming breath, reached into her purse, pulled out a notebook, and started writing something down. She then ripped the page she was writing on from her notebook and gave it to Ranma.
"Look Ranma, after school, go to the mall, head to the suit rental shop, ask for Giorgio, tell him I sent you, give him this as proof, and tell him you need..." She paused to look him up and down.
"The disaster package," She said with disgust. Ranma just glared at her.
"I don't need yours or Giorgio's help." He said. The others looked at him.
"Um, you might need their help. Just a little bit." Fluttershy said to her friend. He looked back at the others, blushed a little, and shrugged in defeat.
"Fine." He said as Rarity shoved the paper into his hands.
'What did I do to deserve this crap?' He asked himself mentally.
After school came to its end, Ranma kept his promise and headed off to the mall. It took him a while, but he found the tailor shop Rarity told him about. As he went in, he soon found himself feeling very out of place. The place was full of tuxedos, suits and dresses of different colors and styles. He heard a voice and followed it to find man talking to an associate. He walke over to them and crossed his arms as he waited for them to finish.
Seeing that someone was waiting, the guy who was talking to the associate excused himself and walked over to Ranma. From the way he moved and talked, Ranma could tell this man was slightly homosexual.
"Yes, can I help you sir?" He asked. Ranma reached into his pocket and pulled out the paper Rarity gave him and gave it to the man.
"My friend Rarity told me to give this to a guy named Giorgio." Ranma said. The man took it and smiled at the boy.
"Well, I'm Giorgio. And if Miss Rarity sent you too me, then she must think you really need help." He said. Ranma scratched the back of his head.
"Yeah. She said to ask for something called, the Disaster Package." Ranma said to the man. He looked Ranma up and down and nodded his head.
"And she was right." Ranma scowled at the man. Did everybody think he was a disaster just because he liked wearing Chinese clothes instead of modern western clothes? Giorgio looked at the aper and gasped.
"So, going to the big Galla are we?" He asked. Ranma nodded.
"Yeah, Rarity and her friends talked me into being their bodyguard for the event." He said in a dejected tone. Giorgia cleared his throat.
"Well, don't you worry kid. Cause I'm going to turn you into the bell of the ball. Now let's see. You have that Asian pretty boy face, wonderful hair, gorgeous skin and nice broad shoulders. I think I can work with this." He said as he dragged Ranma off to get his measurements.
"HEY! WATCH IT!" Ranma shouted as he felt the older man's hand get a little to close to a certain area.
"Sorry." Giorgio said. Ranma gave him a not convinced look.
"Yeah, I bet."
A few minutes later, Ranma found himself in a nice-looking tux, checking out his reflection in the mirror. While tuxedos were not his thing, he had to admit, he did look DAMN good in this pinguine suit.
"Not bad, not bad." Ranma said to himself. He still didn't like how Giorgio came a little close for comfort during the measuring, but the man did do a good job.
"So? Are we satisfied?" Giorgio asked.
"Can we make the vest red?" Ranma asked. A few minutes later, Ranma, happy with how his new tux looked, was beginning to worry about the cost of this suit he might only wear once.
"Don't worry about the cost hun." The homosexual man said to the pigtailed boy. "Since you're a friend of Miss Rarity, it'll be on her account."
"Oh! Ok." Ranma said as he slung his new suit, safely in it's bag, over his shoulder and headed for home.
As he was strolling home, Ranma found himself whistling a tune and smiling. While he still didn't think this Galla thing was going to be as fun as Rarity and the others said it would be, he wa hoping that he might find some way to liven it up. Hopefully without getting the others into trouble. As also wondered why Celestia was so adamant about him coming along for this stupid thing.
'Whatever she's up to, I need to be careful.' Ranma thought to himself. Just as he was thinking this, he heard a noise coming from a near by ally.
"Huh?" Ranma said as he looked over to find the source of the noise. "Who's there? Come out and show yourself!"
Ranma dropped his tux and got into a fighting stance, ready for whatever came at him. A trash can fell over and rattled a little as something emerged form it.
"Huh!?" Ranam started as he saw what came out of the trash bin. All the color drained from his face. Horror took the place of his courage.
"N-n-no! Stay back!" He said as he waved his hand in front of himself. "Don't come any closer! STAY BACK!"
Meanwhile, Rarity was dragging the others with her as she headed in the direction of Ranma and Master Asia's home.
"Rarity? Why are we being dragged to Ranma's house?" Sunset asked her glaring, purple haired friend. Rarity just huffed.
"I'm making sure that Ranma did as I told him and went to get that suit!" Rarity said as she stormed in front of the group of friends. Fluttershy looked nervously at her friend.
"Um, I'm sure Ranma got it Rarity." She said. Rarity turned on her heel to look at the busty pink haired girl.
"Look Fluttershy, when it comes to men, they ALWAYS put off doing something a woman tells them to do. Especially if it's something they don't want to do."
Rainbow Dash crossed her arms as she looked towards the fashionista.
"Uh, Rarity, I'm not so sure..." She was starting to say before Applejack cut her off.
"Look sugar cube, Rarity's not goning to be happy until she sees for herself that Ranma went and got that fancy suit she wanted him to get. So let's just humor her for a bit, and maybe we can get in some more ki control training afterwards."
Rainbow Dash sighed and nodded her head. But as they were about to start back on their way, Pinkie suddenly started twitching all over. She started to shake, tremble and then bounced all around like a jackhammer!
"WwWwWwHhHhOoOoOoAaAaA!" She said as her friends noticed her whole-body spasming episode.
"Pinkie! Wh-What's going on!?" Twilight asked.
"IiIiI DdDdDdOoOoNnNnNn'TtT KkKkKkNnNnNnOoOoOoWwWwWwW!" She said.
"BbBbBbBbUuUuUuTtTtT IiIiTtT'S AaAaA DdDdDdOoOoZzZzZzYyYyYy!" She said as her body finally started to calm down and stop shaking. Rarity ran over and caught Pinkie before the poor girl could hit the ground.
"Pinkie, what on Earth was that!?" She asked. Pinkie shook her head to clear her head.
"I, I don't know. But it was a doozy of a Pinkie sense flip out." She said as she got back to her feet. Suddenly, Sunset looked ahead of them and gasped.
"Look!" She said as she pointed in front of them. They all looked to where she was pointing and gasped as they saw Ranma. On the ground.
"RANMA!" They all shouted as they rushed over to the downed boy.
"RANMA! Wake up! Speak to me!" Pinkie cried as she propped the boy up. Fluttershy held her hands over her mouth as she fell to her knees next to the poor boy.
"Oh my goodness! What happened? Who could have done this?" She asked. Rainbow couldn't believe her eyes. Ranma, beaten?
"Did...did someone...beat him?" She asked shakily.
"Besides Master Asia, I didn't think anybody could beat Ranma in a fight." Applejack said in shock. Twilight knelt down to check on Ranma.
"Hmm." She said as she gave him a once over. "He doesn't seem to have any bruises. But he does seem awfully stiff."
She leaned over his face and pried his eyes open to examine them.
"From the looks of things, it almost looks like he was literally scared stiff." Twilight said. This caught the attention of the others.
"Scared stiff?" Sunset asked. Rainbow looked at her bespeckled friend.
"Scared?" She asked in disbelief. "Ranma? Scared!? Not's crazy! How could he be scared of anything?"
Rarity looked from the tuxedo bag she was smoothing over and looked back at the others.
"Rainbow, darling, no one is without fear." She said. "But to be fair, someone like Ranma being scared so badly that he fainted like this, whatever scared him must have been truly horrifying."
Suddenly, they all heard a noise coming from the alley behind them. They turned and gazed into the darkness of the alley. Pinkie gulped as she mustered up the courage to speak.
"Um guys..." She said, fear evident in her voice. "I-I think whatever scared Ranma might still be hear."
Rainbow Dash recovered first and went into a fighting stance.
"Wh-whoever's there, come out and fight!" She said. There was a rattling of trash cans but no one came out. Rainbow inched closer and Applejack came up behind her, also in a fighting stance.
"Come on! Come out and fight you coward!" Rainbow said.
"Yeah! Come out or we're coming in after ya!" Pinkie said, taking up her own imitation kung fu stance.
Suddenly, a trash can tipped over and spilled out its contents. The girls all tensed up as something came out. It was on all fours, stalking closer to them. It walked out into the light, showing it's glimmering yellow eyes, it's sharp claws, its sharp teeth, and it's blazing orange fur.
"Meow."
