No matter what doubts Lu might've had about the reasons why Andy was wooing her, whether it was actually about Lu or only about the child she had unofficially adopted as her own, she had to admit that Andy was convincing.
The dates had been nice. They went to places that were nice but where Lu still felt comfortable, maybe not 50 bucks just for appetizers—Lu was appalled at just the thought of it, knowing how far some patients of her could make 50 bucks stretch—but nice nonetheless.
There had been flowers, not any specific kind because Lu had never had a favorite, but flowers anyway. They brought some more color to her already colorful apartment and brightened her day when at the end of a long day she saw them sitting on the kitchen table.
But more than anything there had been the small romantic gestures that Lu really appreciated; getting asked about her day, Andy anticipating what she needed and actually providing whatever it was, getting compliments, and Andy making her favorite dessert from scratch when they had dinner at Andy's house.
The physical component had been a bit more challenging though. Yes, they had kissed (at Andy's house on the couch, at Lu's house on the couch, at the clinic, in both of their cars, a quick peck at the table in the restaurant, a more elaborate kiss in the alleyway next to the restaurant, and once in the hospital parking lot), it had gotten somewhat more intense as time had gone on, and there was plenty of touching even though all clothes had remained on.
Lu and Rosa moving back in hadn't been made official though they stayed at Andy's more often than not. Their relationship was progressing as most did, just at an accelerated speed, except for one missing component.
It had been nearly a month since there first date, and both had lost count of how many dates there had been as they constantly managed to make time to spend with each other and took every opportunity to do so.
It was late on a Friday night when Lu turned off the tv and turned to Andy who was reading a book. Just Lu looking at her made Andy look up from her book, her eyebrows raised as a question. ''Hmm?''
''I think we should have sex.''
