Some connections take time to build up. Others are an instantaneous snap connection.
Kids are better at the later, while adults work carefully at the former, too jaded in age to trust that instant connection.
And yet, that's how Eikichi befriends Jun. It's like something falls into place that should have always been there the first time they skip Gym together.
Spending time with him is as natural as breathing. It's like his best ideas come to him while talking with Jun, and Eikichi is forever writing something down to create a song about later.
Eikichi asks Jun to join his band, to which he always replies he will do that when the band acquires more musical talent.
It's almost a running joke at this point, but he wants to do something about it. If he ever wants to achieve his dream of creating a band it has to happen before he has to take over the Sushi shop.
Maybe he really should recruit Tatsuya Suou to the band, like he has been half joking about.
