Chapter 17
Watching the Slytherins in the great Hall, anyone would have thought that the Slytherins won the House and quidditch cup by the amount of noise coming from the table. The first and second years were confuse at first but got into the spirit that possessed the rest of their house. Not realizing that they were participating in Harri Potter's mayhem.
Luckily, Draco had missed it all, and hadn't heard how Harri wanted his late grandfather for herself.
Harri continued to laugh next to the sixth years and watched how Snape was quickly losing his temper. Harri noticing that Snape had her morning potion to heal the years of neglect her body suffered, took it from his hand, uncorked the vial, and drank it all down in one, treating it like a shot to the amusement of the upper years who were still in hysterics. Harri couldn't believe that she was worried about Snape at all. He acted like nothing had happened, and she could live with that. Sure, she still found him attractive but at least she wasn't panting for him. Last night was just a fluke, Harri convinced herself.
Having drank her potion, Harri shivered at the potion taking effect and healing her slowly but surely.
"Potter! Follow me." Snape hissed at her. Harri smiled up at him and nodded. Snape reasoned that removing Potter from the scene was the best way to calm the Slytherin students. Once she was gone, everyone would settle down and get their days started.
Harri followed after Snape's long strides having to jog to keep up with him, and from behind him, Harri could admire the younger man. Snape just needed to wash his hair and whiten his teeth and he could actually be considered attractive. He was tall enough to have her pinned against the wall as an adult, and he had broad shoulders that could cover the entirety of her body, and very nice rough hands that Harri knew would suit her well.
"Sir, in case you haven't noticed, I have tiny legs!" Harri whined behind Snape. Snape turned to look at her and saw her small frame running towards him. Snape could almost imagine a young Lily running after him, after being bullied by Potter and his band of idiots. But the image was wrong, Lily had always worn a worried expression as she ran after him, instead, Potter had an annoyed expression on her face as she ran after him, trying to catch up to him. Severus slowed down and Harri got the wind knocked out of her as she was still running in her fast pace after him. Harri fell backwards landing on her arse and Snape heard her cursing.
"Damn! This isn't what I meant by wanting to have my breath stolen" Harri angrily muttered under her breath.
"Potter!" Snape sneered at her.
"Oops" Harri said unapologetically at being heard.
Harri and Snape stood there for a moment, neither one of them saying anything and just staring at the other.
"The thing at breakfast wasn't my fault" Harri finally decided to break the silence. Snape stared down at her and Harri to admit to herself that she kind of liked the dynamic of the power and height difference. Snape noticed the slight blush on her face, and he cursed himself for being alone with her again. This is divine punishment for getting Lily killed by the Dark Lord, Snape decided. Harri picked herself up from the ground and brushed her skirt down. Snape ignored Potter's expression and avoided her green eyes.
"What was that, Miss Potter?" he asked sullenly.
Harri sighed and decided once again to bullshit herself out of this as delicately as possible. "I was just sharing my book with Farley and the other group of sixth year girls, when the discussion of what type of wizards were desirable came up." Snape gave Harri a long stare before finally staring into her eyes to see if she was lying, but he couldn't get anything because he assumed the Potter ring protected her from mind attacks. Harri smirked at him, noticing what he was trying to do.
"Sir, if you try to come into my mind one more time, I promise to make this as uncomfortable as possible to you and show you what really goes on in this mind of mine" Harri threatened him, taking delight from his troubled expression.
"Are you threatening me Potter!?" Snape sneered down at her. Harri gleamed up at him and stood on her tip toes to get closer to his face.
"It's a promise Professor, not a threat." Snape was itching to take points of her, but couldn't because she was a Slytherin, and Slytherin had already lost more points that day then they had received since the start of the term three day ago.
"won't you stare into my eyes professor?" Harri teased him, wanting him to look into her eyes so that she could show him what she wanted to do to him. Snape looked horrified at his student and sneered down at her more ferociously.
"Detention Potter!"
"With you?" Harri fluttered her eyes at him coyly and he recoiled from the sight.
"With Filch." Harri gave him an agreeing shrug already deciding not to go to it.
Harri stood there waiting to be excused and just stared at Snape's looming body over hers. Snape having dealt with her enough dismissed her.
"Leave!" Harri smiled innocently at Snape and passed by him, brushing her shoulder against his cloak and then his waist. Harri laughed when Snape flinched away from her touch and gave him a lopsided grin promising that he would be seeing her again very soon. The worst part was that he couldn't tell anyone that this first-year girl was pestering and teasing him at every turn. Snape couldn't tell his colleagues, and his pleas fell on deaf ears with Dumbledore. Snape decided to do the only thing he can do. Snape went to open a new bottle of whiskey and try to forget the joke that is his life now.
