The New Breed
Chapter 1
Usagi's POV
'Ummm, why is it dark? . . . Oh, maybe I should open my eyes.'
Opening my eyes, I was greeted with the sight of my friend's dark blue hair and . . . something else that was a lighter blue. I closed my eyes and carefully sat up, my muscles screaming in protest. I opened my eyes again and saw the familiar white padded walls of the room I've been in for the last two weeks. I looked next to me to see if Ami was starting to wake up.
Normal POV
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!"
Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako jumped to their feet, suddenly wide awake, and was looking about wildly, searching for a youma. All they saw though was their petite friend looking at them in shock with her mouth and eyes wide open. "You, you," Usagi takes a shaky breath, "you have tails and, and furry ears!" The girls' eyes grew big as they finally noticed Usagi's violet cat-like ears and violet tail that separated into two near the end. The girls quickly looked at each other and themselves for their own changes. Ami had a thick blue tail that had a fin at the end of it and blue aquatic-like ears. Makoto had a long thin black tail with a yellow bolt and brown and yellow ears. Minako had a light tan bushy tail and cute brown ears. Lastly, Rei had nine golden tails and small gold ears. Suddenly, Minako giggled. "We look kinda cute!"
Rei looked at the blonde incredulously. Usagi and Makoto though, giggled as well and agreed with Minako. "This is a serious matter!''
"Sirius? Where?!"
Minako, Makoto, and Ami immediately broke out into laughter at Usagi's comment. Rei, despite how much she tried, couldn't help, but laugh with the others at that comment. After a few minutes they calmed down and started to think about their situation. Ami spoke up ten minutes later. "I think we'll change more than this, though I doubt they'll have us change completely into whatever it is we're changing into. It would be a waste of money and material."
"Oh, good. I thought we would change completely."
The girls became silent, having little to talk about and nothing in the room to do. It was a half hour before anyone said anything. "We should plan an escape."
Ami quickly got everyone's attention with that statement. "When?"
"We should probably execute the plan when we finish changing and learn of everything we're able to do."
"So we should start the planning while we're changing?"
"Yes."
The room became silent once again. Minako started to fidget though, uncomfortable with the dead silence. "Who wants to play charades?"
"Ooh! I do!"
~In a room similar to the girls' room~
A young man with short raven hair slowly woke up, his deep ocean blue eyes blinking, trying to focus. He sat up and ran his hand through his hair, stopping when it came in contact with a foreign object. "What the hell?!"
He had black ears with a glowing circle on them and a tail similar to his ears. A man his age with sandy blond hair groaned. "Ugh, unlike you Mamoru, I like to sleep, so shut up!"
Mamoru then calmly said, "Motoki."
Motoki responded in aggravation, "What?!"
"I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE YELLING!!!!"
His shout quickly woke up the other male occupants and grabbed Motoki's attention. The four looked at Mamoru and was shocked. They then did exactly as the girls had done, looking themselves over. Motoki had white cat ears and a white tail that was curled at the end. Greg had dark yellow dog ears and an oddly shaped, thick, dark yellow tail. Brock had two small bone-like ears and a light brown tail with a small brown spike on it. The last male, a boy of 16 with medium red hair, pulled back into a short ponytail, and chocolate brown eyes had red ears and a bushy light orangish-yellow tail. "This is weird."
"I dunno. It's kind of cool."
They looked at Mamoru, who was making the circles on his ears and tail glow. "Are you enjoying this?"
"Maybe."
~Back in the girls' room~
"Walrus?"
Minako shook her head 'no'. "Sea lion?"
She shook her head once again. "Oh! I know! A penguin!"
"Usa-chan's right!"
"Obviously, blondes think alike."
Minako smiles and nods her head. "Yep!"
Realization dawns on Minako's face when she realized that Rei was making fun of her and Usagi and the two girls yell at Rei. "Hey!"
"That's mean!"
The door then opened before Rei could fight back and the two scientists walk in. "Subject 31."
Usagi smiles at the other reassuringly and leaves with the Scientists. "What do they want now?"
Ami turns her attention to the upset senshi of thunder. "I guess they're checking her to note down all the changes."
"Oh. That makes sense."
For what seemed like the millionth time the room fell into a dull yet comfortable silence. "Wanna play the road trip game?" (Don't know if you play this game on the road, but my family does.)
"Sure. I'll start. I'm going on a trip and I'm bringing with me an amaryllis."(A flower that I've never heard of. Got it from a friend.)
"Okay, I'm going on a trip and I'm bringing with me an amaryllis and a bum."
"A bum?"
"Yep."
"Ooookay Minako. What ever floats your boat. I'm going on a trip and I'm bringing with me an amaryllis, a, er, bum, and a charm."
They continued to play for another ten minutes, until Usagi and the scientists came back. "Subject 32."
Ami left and Usagi walked tiredly over to Rei. She plopped down onto her butt next to Rei and laid her head on Rei's lap. "Comfy Odango?"
Usagi just grunted in response. "Whose turn was it?"
"Makoto's."
"Oh, right."
"I'm bringing an amaryllis, a bum, a charm, a dog, an elephant, a fern, a gram cracker, a horse, an ice cream cone, a jack-in-a-box, a kite, a lizard, a melon, a, er, nutcase, an Olympic champion, a pocketbook, a quill, a rabbit, a, erm, stripper, and a, ah, a, oh what was it?"
"You lost Makoto."
"Darn it."
Rei and Minako finished the game and Usagi started up another one. They played games as each one left with the scientists and came back dead tired. A half hour later the girls were laying on the floor in spread eagle position, staring at the ceiling.
"Hey, guys?"
"What is it Minako?"
"This better be good."
"It is!"
"Well?"
"I think I over heard the scientists talking about a second group. A second MALE group."
"Really?"
"Yeah. I'm pretty sure they said something like that."
"Maybe we'll meet them later."
The girls slowly drifted off to sleep, Usagi and Rei snoring quietly.
Chocolat: By the way, I've nothing against blondes. I even would like to have blonde hair myself. Please review and tell me what you think!
Kasumi: I have to admit chocolat-chan, this chapter is pretty good.
Chocolat: I told you I was an okay authoress. Phht!
Kasumi attacks chocolat and they wrestle some.
A second imaginary friend walks into the room.
Ryo: Um, did I miss something?

Usagi's POV
