It been a few weeks since I decided to create my company. Thanks to Carmine and Leila, I managed to buy a three-story building near the Slaughter Swamp. There were two reasons for this decision: One, I wanted Leila to study the swamp, see if we could use the magic in it to assist the company in some way. Two, I wanted to dispose the toxic waste and other trash in the swamp (and also use them in some experiments I wanted Leila to try).
I named my company Tevyat Industries, Carmine kinda like it since it was unique, Leila also liked it but Tifa, Esdeath and Jinx didn't care too much about the name since they were pay by Leila to protect Markus.
Tifa and Esdeath became the Co-Head of Security, and using the money Carmine sent them, hired three teams of five security men to protect the building. Jinx meanwhile became my secret little assassin, in public, she was also apart of my security team as a demolition expert. Some of the security team didn't like that but after she beat some of them in fist-to-fist combat, they accepted her reluctantly.
Right now, the three-story building has three floors, the first was the entrance floor, it stills being fixed up so there was some part of the floor and ceiling cracked. The second floor was a small research lab Leila has set up, she brought some of her equipment from her lab to this one. The third floor was both my office and the office of the security. Each floor was protected by one security team each.
Unbeknownst to my security teams, Leila has built a underground laboratory with a tunnel to the sewer that, using some of Falcone goons, lead to her other lab.
Right now, she was in her public laboratory researching the barks in Slaughter Swamp. "Hmmmm, interesting." She sound some kind of magic in it, but it looks corrupted or twisted, best guess was due to the toxic wastes and other junks that got dump in there. "Better take this report to Markus. Wonder how the girls are doing." She took her report and went to Markus' office, passing a few guards on her way there.
She made there and open the door to his office, there were some empty bookshelves and a desk with there was some paper, most likely reports from his boss. Markus was sitting on a sofa talking to someone on the phone, "Look Mr. Leon, I am telling you, no you look, at least take a look of our products and decide for…hello? Damn it, hang up on me."
Markus sighs in frustrations before sitting behind his desk. "Hey Leila, what do you have for me about the Slaughter Swamp?" She simply placed her report on his desk and waited he went through them, sighing as he did so. "So basically unless we can get a magician to fix that swamp, we basically struck with getting the toxic wastes out of there?"
Leila nodded, "In both short and long term, yes." He sigh in resignation, "Fine, you said earlier that you have some people we could hired into our company?" Leila smiled, "Yes and I heard from Carmine that they managed to find a few more jewelry similar to the ones you found the first time before you absorbed."
"Ugh." I groaned out in distain as I put my hand on my forehead to soothe the incoming headache I'm dealing with. Not because of the jewels that Carmine found(Which I am grateful for) but because none of the magicians would help out clean that swamp.
How much money does it take to convince even a single magician to clean it. All that toxic waste needs to be disposed of. I need to think of any solution I can take in order to get rid of it. If not then the government will find ways to shut me down, including the other detective heroes, batman to be certain.
I shake my head, getting rid of the thoughts before shifting my attention to my assistant. "Anywho, did you finished the list of possible candidates I asked you to?" I asked Leila.
She smirked, and pull out another report from out from nowhere, "Well, due to the small amount of funds Carmine is giving us, I mainly focus on Gotham resident, and I managed to find one, James Dragov."
She showed me a picture of a man wearing SWAT armor with a gas mask on his face. Leila continued as I looked at his face, "He was originally apart of the SWAT units of the GCPD prior to Commissioner Gordon rise to, well Commissioner, before leaving the force. But not before stealing his SWAT armor and a few other things like his weapons and a few tear gas grenades. He managed to rally some paroled Blackgate prisoners into a small gang that formed a black market.
Prior to his rather 'violent' departures, he was fighting against the corruption in GCPD, but the mobs, including Falcone, kept sending hitmen and the like to kill him so he left." Well that is interesting, seems like I would very much to recruit him for my company.
"Get Jinx, I need her to find this guy and see if he can be persuaded to join this company. With him in this company, we can get our men, and any future security employees at least more trained up." I ordered Leila, who smirked and nodded before leaving my office, swaying her hips as she did so.
Damn that woman, she always been trying to riled me up for a few weeks. Not to mention Jinx seems to be somewhat interested to me as well. Thankfully Esdeath and Tifa are much calmer than those two. I opened my new laptops and look into some documents overlooking some projects Leila and I set up, including cleaning up Slaughter Swamp, but also getting a factory to make weapons and armors for both the GCPD and the US Army.
I quickly put them away before calling Carmine with my new phone, "Hey Carmine, I heard from Jackal that you got some of those jewelry, do you mind if I come over and see if their genuine or not?"
"Sure thing kiddo, I was already getting someone to get you over here when you called."
I smiled, "Great, I'm heading to the lobby with Tifa right now."
Later
Soon I arrived at the Falcon's house with Tifa where I walked through the halls of the mansion before arriving at a double side door. I stopped for a moment as I gathered some thoughts about whether this would be a good thing or bad thing.
I took a big sigh before I opened the doors and entered Falcon's office where Carmine notice my presence, along with an unfamiliar woman standing by his side.
"Ah! Markus, good to see you here, it's about time you got here."
"You know what they say, traffic is always a nightmare to everyone."
"Hah! That's a good one." He wipes a non-existent tears from his face before putting a hand on the other woman. "Anyway I'd like you to meet someone, meet my daughter. Sofia Falcone Gigante "
Sofia was around the height of Carmine with red hair, she has a swimmer-build body, with a trench coat and a brand pants with black heels. I can also see two Desert Eagle on both sides of her hips.
She looked me over, "So this is your new goon dad? He looks to be small, but you did say he is a meta-human, so maybe he can be a little stronger, if what you said about his powers is true."
Carmine smiled and gestured Ricky over to us with a small suitcase. He opened and let me see twenty jewelry, but I can sense six of them, "Mr. Falcone, I can sense six of them are the real deal, the rest are just basic jewels."
Carmine frowned but gestured me to touch them and I did so, like before they disappeared, making Sofia raised a brow, saying nothing.

I immediately send three of them into the medium cooldown for shooting the air bullets. It went from 3 hours into an hour and 30 minutes, to 45 minutes to 22 minutes and 30 seconds. I then transfer the rest into that ability, and it went down to 11 minutes and 15 seconds to 5 minutes and 37 seconds, to 2 minutes and 48 seconds, a massive decrease in cooldown time.
I laughed hard, making Carmine and Sofia blinked in confusion, "Don't worry about it sir, it just that I managed to be slightly more powerful now." I answered them.
"Hmmmmm, interesting." Carmine put a hand on his chin, inspecting me for a few seconds before coming to a conclusion. "So, the gems that gives you power not only gives you more additional powers but also an upgrade to your abilities correct?"
I nod at him. "You are correct boss." I quickly devised some excuse for him to believe me. "I don't know the full extent of my powers as my powers are still new. It'll take some time for me to adjust with my meta-ability. These gems would help me indefinitely either upgrade my abilities or grant me new ones." I explained to him, with a mix of both lie and truth.
"Seems like there is more to it in your meta-abilities. I cannot be certain if I can count this as either a blessing or a curse." Carmine said to me while still hardening his expression to me. I was mentally freaking out before Sofia laughed, "Gotta say dad, I never seen a meta-human like him before, you bagged a good one dad." Carmine sighed at her exclamation.
"True, plus I am sending him weekly cash to set up his company, though why you chose to have your building near Slaughter Swamp is a question I don't want answered. If I knew you have a death sentence, I'd never have sent you that money." Carmine chastised me in front of his daughter. Before anymore was said, both and Carmine's phone rang, making us look at each other in confusion before answering our respective phone.
"Hello? Whoa whoa, calm down, what happened? Wait what?! Jinx was attacked?!"
"What the hell happened?! Explain it to me in full details!"
Unknown to both me and Carmine, we were receiving the same information.
"The Regulators?/The REGULATORS?!"
We both looked at each other in confusion before going to our phone, "Get Esdeath to Jinx now!/Get the boys ready, we're heading to her now!"
We both hanged up and got up, Sofia now looking at both of us seriously. "Carmine, who the hell are the Regulators?" I asked Carmine,
"They are an organization who steal advanced goods, traffic organs and augment their own power with their ill-gotten gains. They specialize in advanced technology and mainly steals from Wayne Company and other tech-based companies."
"And now they deliberately attacked Jinx and the guy I was attempting to recruit so they can steal their weapons and advances them into better weapons. And Jinx is now heavy injured but alive with the guy she was recruiting alive as well but lightly injured and is currently protecting her until help arrives."
Carmine nodded angrily, "These bozos been attacking us for months, trying to take over our turf so they can perform their operations, and now they decided to mess with you now, big no-no in my opinions." I nodded as we came down to the entrance of Carmine residence as a car came up and we went inside, Sofia included.
Later
We made it to James' Black Market, or what was left of it. Carmine's mobs was already on scene, helping some people with the assistance of the cops on their payrolls. I saw Tifa and Esdeath tending to both Jinx and James Dragov, both injured but covered in bandages. "Jinx, you alright?"
"Yea, I'm alright. Those Regular fucks didn't hur-OW! Bitch!" She yelled at Tifa who tighten her bandages while Esdeath smirked at Jinx's pains, "Anyway, I been speaking with Dragon boy here when those goons rushed us. I managed protect him and I managed to snatched something from one of them."
She took out a vial with green liquids in it, making everyone looked at it with some curiosity. Another car pulled and came out was Leila, who came after hearing about Jinx. We weren't focused about her, instead we're focusing on the green vial with strange liquid. "What is this stuff?" James asked as he was still being attended by Tifa.
Jinx shrugged, "Not sure but something really important since that vial has some writing on it, never checked since I was too busy, oh I don't know, being fixed up!"
Leila immediately took the vial and looked it over, gasping as she did, making us looked at it, "This thing is the same vial that allowed Dr. Kirk Langstrom to become Man-Bat but how, since he's no longer experimenting on this stuff anymore?" She showed us the name of this vial, making some bugged eyed at it while others twitched their left eyes.
"How were you able to identify this serum Leila?" I asked her with some confusion. Still wondering how she was able to know what this green vial was.
Leila smiled, "Simple because he showed me his experiments a few years before he became Man-Bat. I used his research to see if I could profit off of this but realized that Kirk might take offends of this, so I stop that plan."
I put my hand on my chin as a thought came through me, "If that the case, then how did the Regulators managed to acquire this?"
Everyone thought until Dragov spoke, "I may have an idea on that front." His statement causes to snap our collective heads to him, "See there was this reports two weeks ago about a burning in Langstrom old, abandoned labs and everyone thought some squatters accidentally burned the place but now I'm not sure."
"You think it could be a connection?"
"I'm not so sure of it is. But it could be." James said in hesitation.
I shook my head before glancing at the green vial. "Well, whatever this is. Who in their right mind would want to have this type of stuff?" I asked while still having my attention at the vial.
"Hmmmmmm." Jinx begins to think for a moment before she came up with something. "Maybe the Joker 'cause he loves to create chaos and mayhem for his own personal taste."
"Do you see any clown sigils anywhere in these creates Jinx?" James sarcastic said before sighing while looking around his ruined black market. "Dammit, there's no way I can recovered from this without doing something stupid, which I won't do which means I'm fucked either way." He sighed, making me remember why I send here in the first place, despite what happened, "What if you come join my new company I just started, I send Jinx here to recruit you and your small gang but….."
James glared at me but sighed, "To be honest, I been thinking of joining a group for a year now and Jinx, despite being blunt and rude, did appeal to me. Right now, I need to get my guys heal, then I will join you."
I blinked, I didn't expect to get a new recruit, well new recruits, so soon but I guess this situation turns things well into my favors, "And make sure I won't mooch off you, I sends some of my stocks to you in weekly delivering. Just so I can packed my own equipment to come over to you. Just send your locations and I can come with my men."
I smiled at that and now I have a small group of new security men to protect me until I am too strong that they can only protect my assets.
This is Dark Lord Xehanort back with a new chapter of this story. In this chapter, it is mostly about recruiting a new member of Teyvat Industries, James Dragov from Division 2: Warlords of New York. However, we encountered an unexpected new enemy, the Regulators from the newly released game: Gotham Knight. Tomorrow I will update the Teyvat Industries Assets.
