Abby looked to her side and up at the tall man walking beside her. He looked down at her beaming face and smiled. It had been a long time since Luka had felt joy, but he finally was. They walked across the ambulance bay, silent, each thinking of each other.
Abby spoke first, "What are you thinking about?"
"You," Luka replied, his Croatian accent sounding romantic.
"What about me?" She inquired, twirling her brunette hair, as they walked into Doc Magoo's.
"Just how when you laugh, your eyes sparkle like diamonds, and how when you get frustrated or excited you twirl your hair," he countered. "What are you thinking about?" he asked, taking a booth in side the building.
"You!" she replied.
"What about me?
"How you get real silent when you think of home, and how you make me feel like a woman," she sighed. They stared into each others eyes for a long time.
"You know, we really should order," Luka said after a while.
"Oh, yah! I'll get a burger!" Abby said.
"Do you want to skip food and go back to my apartment?" Luka implored.
"I would love that very much!"
