Chapter 3: Escaping

Sam awoke with a groan. Her head hurt a bit, as her vision was quite blurry. Everything around her seemed quiet, as she tried to get up. Sure, enough her body felt sore, yet nothing seemed broken, she checked her stomach, thankfully she didn't feel any pain. Looking around her surroundings, she was lying on a bed a crappy, television sat before her, and the ceiling was a gray color. Looked like a cheap motel room from what she could see.

Where the hell am I? How did I get here? Her mind questioned as she surveyed her surroundings. Looking herself over she was still wearing her white tank top shirt, blue jeans and her white boots, her white hat however was missing. "Okay, Sam let's not panic, breathe figure out what is going on," Sam told herself calmly as she slowly got to her feet. At that moment the motel door opened.

A man at least 7ft tall yet wearing an odd uniform. It was a red shirt with red stripes slashed across it, a pair of black pants with a red strip around the middle, the left hand in a black glove, the right hand with a black cuff around it. The mask was black yet around the eyes was red, with clearly fake curly black hair, with the chin showing. "Hey honey, you are awake, you had me worried," the man said to her.

"Honey? Um, I am sorry sir, but do I know you?" Sam asked trying to remain calm, yet she had seen plenty horror movies, guys wearing masks like that were hardly friendly.

"Sam, honey don't you recognize me, it's me Kane," the man said gently. He was holding a plastic bag, warm smells lingered from it. Her stomach began to rumble realizing she needed to eat.

"Kane?" Sam asked looking at him with confusion. "Um, babe why are you wearing that uniform, I mean it looks cool, but you weren't wearing it the last time I saw you," Sam stated, beyond confused.

"Oh honey, you really must have hurt yourself, but don't worry I will take good care of you," Kane said as he walked over to her. "Here, I got you some food, let me feed you," he said gently. Sam's body stiffened as the man sat beside her. She looked into his eyes, but the mask made it a bit difficult to see. "What is wrong honey, aren't you hungry?" the man asked.

"Um yeah, but I am confused," Sam said, trying not to look scared but something was telling her this man wasn't Kane.

For starters when Kane was worried, he called her Darlin, not honey, he only called her honey when he was playing around. When he was seriously concerned with her, yeah, he called her Darlin. Plus, her memory was fuzzy, but she knew Kane didn't wear that outfit the last time she saw him. That she was a hundred percent sure of.

"Shhh, it's okay I am here now," the man claiming to be Kane said gently stroking her hair. He smiled at her as he pulled out of the bag a Styrofoam container, inside a burger and fries were inside. "Eat up honey, you look hungry," he said gently. He took a fry and slowly brought it to her mouth. Sam opened her mouth and ate the hot, yet stale fry.

"Thanks sweetie," Sam said still feeling like she was in danger. "Um, can you tell me what happened, after your match with Seth?" she asked.

"I lost the match, then to make things worse, you collapsed after the match. I brought you here to take care of you," he explained.

"Why didn't you take me to the hospital?" Sam questioned.

"I um, well, I wanted to take care of you, I know you better then any doctor," the fake Kane told her.

"Okay, but why are you wearing this wrestling uniform and not your street clothes?" Sam asked him.

"I wanted to show you my new wrestling uniform," the fake Kane told her.

"Why did I collapse?" Sam questioned.

"You were stressed, this is my way of helping you relax," he explained.

"Right, okay well, I'm relaxed so let's go back to our trailer," Sam said trying to get up.

"Sam, honey you need to rest, now please eat some more," the fake Kane told her.

"Okay, but can you take off your mask?" Sam asked him.

His smile faded as a stern look now on his face. "Why should I take it off?" he asked her.

"Why do you need it on?" Sam asked him.

"I like my mask," the imposter told her.

"Well, I like to see my husband's face, that shouldn't be a problem if you are Kane, right?" Sam questioned.

"Honey let's not fight okay. Here eat some food, just relax, I'll take care of you," the imposter said reaching to stroke her hair again. Sam swatted his hand away trying to back away slowly.

"Don't touch me," she growled. "Who the hell are you? What do you want?" she demanded.

"Sam, you're being difficult, you need to relax, don't need you to feel worse," the imposter said gently, yet it was getting firmer.

"You are not Kane, stay away from me," Sam barked looking for a way out.

"Maybe a kiss we'll calm you down," fake Kane said with a smirk. He placed the food on the nightstand, Then he leaned forward ready to kiss her, as Sam punched him hard in the jaw.

"OWW!" he yelled as Sam scrambled off the bed towards the door.

"NO!" the imposter roared getting up to grab her. He wrapped his arms around her trying to restrain her. Sam managed to elbow him in the face, while kicking him in the shins. The imposter fell to his knees as Sam grabbed the lamp and threw it at his head.

CRASH

The lamp fell as the man moaned out in pain falling on his stomach. Sam took her chance and ran for it outside. It was pitch black as an empty parking lot greeted her. She began to run, trying to find anyone or anything that could help her.

"SAM!" the imposter roared from behind her. Fear and adrenaline took her as she ran faster yelling out into the night.

"HELP! SOMEONE!" she shouted. Only the darkness answered her cries as the roads greeted her.

"SAM COME BACK!" the fake Kane roared searching for her. Blood dripped from his mask clearly from the punch she had given him earlier. The clouds formed as a loud boom was heard. Cold rain poured from above as lightening crackled in the sky.

Of course, it must rain, Sam thought as she continued running. Yet, now the ground was getting slick as she had to be careful. Not only was she in danger but one wrong move and her baby would be in danger as well. Off in the distance a pair of headlights could be seen. "HELP!" Sam yelled heading towards the lights.

Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns were parked near the local bar. "Man, it is pouring," Roman stated.

"I can't believe the bar closes at ten, what bar closes that early?" Dean asked clearly not happy.

"Hey, man we'll just head back to the hotel and get some beers," Roman told him.

"Whatever," Dean mumbled.

Suddenly a figure was pounding on their door. "HELP ME!" cried the figure.

"What the hell?" asked Dean as he rolled down the window. He saw a woman in a white tank top, blue jeans, wearing white boots. Her brown hair in a ponytail, dripping wet as scared chocolate brown eyes greeted him. "Sam?" he questioned looking confused.

"What, Sam?" Roman questioned getting out of the car. Sure, enough there was Sam, shivering from the cold.

"Dean, Roman help me," she cried as she ran into Roman. Tears as well as rainwater, fell from her face.

"Whoa, Sam, easy get in the car, what happened?" Roman asked trying to calm her down.

"SAM!" roared the fake Kane. He glared at the two men as Roman gave Sam to Dean stepping in front of them shielding them from the man. "That is my wife, give her to me," he barked at Roman.

"Kane is that you? What is going on?" Roman asked.

"None of your business, Sam and I are having a lover's spat, now give her to me," the imposter growled.

"No, he's not Kane," Sam panted out to Dean and Roman.

"Shhh, Sam, it's okay stay in the car, Dean said wrapping his jacket around her shivering body. "The lady doesn't want to go with you, we're taking her to the hospital," Dean said.

"Give her back," hissed the fake Kane.

"No way in hell," Roman said firmly. The imposter lunged at Roman, who punched him hard in the jaw. He fell to the ground as Roman stood firmly. "Leave now," Roman told him. Sadly, the guy got back up and tried to pounce on Roman, yet Roman saw this and superman punched the man, straight in his already bloody jaw. Now the man lay there unconscious as Roman turned to Dean. "Call an ambulance, and I'll call the cops". Dean nodded as he grabbed his phone dialing 911.

"Don't…let…him…take…me," Sam begged her energy fading as her body was shivering.

"It's okay Sam, we won't your safe now," Dean assured her. Soon the cops and an ambulance pulled into the area where the trio and the imposter were. Sam was placed in an ambulance heading towards the hospital.

Meanwhile

Kane left the trailer to grab some food. "I bet Sam just left him," a voice said. He froze at the words as his attention went towards Miz talking to Big Show.

"Don't say stuff like that man not cool," Show told him frowning.

"Oh, come on, we are all thinking it. Everyone knows what a monster Kane is, Sam probably smartened up and took off. I wouldn't blame her one bit," Miz told him.

"What did you say?" Kane growled eyeing Miz and Show. Miz's face paled upon seeing the Big Red Machine before him.

"Easy Kane, Miz is just running his mouth. Don't pay him any mind, we are sorry about Sam. I'm sure someone will find her," Show said trying to calm the demon down.

"You think Sam would leave me?" Kane asked ignoring Show's words, walking closer to Miz.

"Duh Kane, can you blame her. Everyone knows what a monster you are, Sam was smart enough to "abduct" herself just to get away from you," Miz stated.

"Did you take her Miz?" Kane growled. "You wanted Sam for yourself, she even beat you in a match, maybe you decided to steal her for yourself," Kane stated as he was now in Miz's face.

"Hey, I never touched her, you can't pin this one on me!" Miz exclaimed.

"Where is she? Give her back, and I won't rearrange your face," Kane hissed.

"I didn't do anything," Miz argued.

"Kane calm down," Show said trying to place a hand on his shoulder.

"Get off me!" Kane yelled pulling away from him. "Sam would never leave me, she loves me, she married me, she's…. she's pregnant with my child," Kane said his voice breaking.

"More reason for why she left you. Can you imagine playing the role of father? You threw Sam away when you were the reason she was being targeted. She was nothing but loyal and loving to you, yet you threw her away. Maybe, she was scared you would throw her away if you learned she was pregnant. I mean we all know what happened the last time, you were going to be a daddy," Miz said with a sneer.

Kane let out a yell as he began to punch Miz. "You, bastard! How dare you say that about my Sam!" he growled.

"Kane, stop!" Show said prying the demon off of Miz.

"Let me go!" Kane demanded. He fell to his knees as the tears fell. "She wouldn't leave me, she wouldn't," he cried.

"Of course, she wouldn't," Show assured him.

"Bet ten bucks she did," Miz muttered as he backed away from Kane.

"Shut up Miz, or I'll break your jaw," Show hissed. Miz took that and decided to leave the two giants alone.

"Kane, Sam wouldn't leave you," Mickie James appearing before him. Hearing the ruckus, she saw Kane's condition and had to set the record straight.

"What do you know Mickie? Do you know who took her from me?" Kane demanded getting to his feet.

"Sam found out she was pregnant only a few minutes before your match. There is no way she had time to plan an abduction unless she has magical powers. She was a bit scared though," Mickie admitted.

"What…what do you mean?" Kane asked his heart breaking.

"She wasn't sure how you would react. Sam is fully aware of how your past relationships went. How hurt you were when Lita lost her and your baby. Given all this information she feared how you would react, but she was planning on telling you," Mickie told him. Kane eyed her saddened to hear this, Sam was afraid to tell him that she was pregnant. Scared enough to plan an abduction yet given the time Sam couldn't have planned an abduction. He didn't know what to think anymore.

A camera man was near by as Kane saw his camera. He grabbed the man as the man looked beyond scared. "Turn on your camera now," Kane barked. The man nodded turning his camera on as Kane looked into the camera. "Sam, if you are seeing this, please come back to me. I know you are pregnant, I…I am okay with it. I'll be a father to our child. I won't throw you away, you don't have to be afraid of me. If you planned this abduction, I won't be mad, I swear. Just…. please…. come back so…we can talk, okay? We can work this out. Just come home Darlin, come back to me," he begged tears down his face.

Show and Mickie gave Kane sympathetic looks, not even sure if Sam heard Kane's pleas. Kane dropped to his knees as the tears fell. He was no longer a demon, just a man who wanted his wife and child back.

"Kane, Kane!" Daniel called running up to him.

"Go away Daniel, I don't want to talk," Kane cried trying to hide his tears.

"No man look, we may have found Sam," Daniel said. Upon hearing this Kane's face hardened as he towered over Daniel.

"Don't mess with me Daniel, I am not in the mood," Kane growled.

"I'm serious man, Dean and Roman, were going out for a drink, when they found a woman matching Sam's description, she is at the hospital nearby. We can go check, and see if it is Sam or not," Daniel told him.

Kane looked relieved yet worried. What if wasn't Sam? Then again what if it was? "Take me there," Kane said.

"Of course, come on," Daniel said as he and Kane headed towards the parking lot.

Please be her, please be her, Kane's mind begged as they drove out into the rainy night.

To be continued….
