Chapter 1
I woke up. Once again a cold rush of wind burst its way into my room, making the window swing vigorously on its hinges. I remembered distinctly closing the window before falling to sleep, so I looked outside to see if anyone, or anything was on the roof. Though I failed to see anything.
As I turned to close the window a bright star caught my eye, not only catching my eye but my full attention too. Although it was not the only star shinning that night. I stood up and walked out onto the windowsill, clinging tight onto my blanket. I was being drawn towards this star, but I could not stop myself, but I couldn't go any further either.
I was on the edge of the windowsill. I wanted to jump; well part of me did anyway. My body was pulling me back but my mind wanted to venture further. Before I knew it I had jumped, but I did not hurl down to my death on the cold concrete floor. Instead I floated, almost hovering outside my open window. I could fly!
A rush of exhilaration filled me from head to toe like the blood in my body that runs through my veins. I flipped and somersaulted, flying through the air. I flew with the birds, soaring and gliding above the chimney tops.
I stopped to catch my breath and stared at the star. It was growing, and getting brighter by the minute. Once again I suddenly felt myself being drawn to the star, but I was not afraid. As we drew closer I was deprived of oxygen. My eyelids fluttered and the world became a blur and then I must have blacked out. I can't remember what happened or how I reached the place⦠I mean Neverland.
