Vi wakes up early and sneaks out of bed. She grabs eggs and starts to make breakfast. Setting the table to places a large bowl of scrambled eggs, rolls, sausage, bacon and muffins down in the center. Once all set up she gets ready and puts on a new suit. This one if fully black with bits of gold to match she dress she bought for Caitlyn, this is an important day and Vi wants to make it the best she can.
She walks into the bedroom and sees her beautiful partner peacefully sleeping. Vi smiles as she walks over and wakes her up with a gentle nudge. Caitlyn looks up at Vi and leaps out of bed into her arms. "Get ready Cupcake! Breakfast is ready!" With that Vi leaves the room to wait for her. The two eat breakfast then head over to the center where Caitlyn takes her new position. On there way over, Vi stop Caitlyn. "Cupcake... What is that faint smell... heat? I just noticed it. Are you alright going to this?" "I'm not missing it, they never offer sheriff positions to omegas. It's probably just pre-heat and it's come a bit early, I'll be alright. The department, we are very desperate, I've been covering multiple spots due to many quitting. Just stay nearby, don't worry." Caitlyn gives her a kiss as they arrive. Both sit in the front row together and await for it to start.
Vi holds her hands and looks up at a nervous Caitlyn. She begins to release calm hormones to help her relax. "You'll do great, cupcake! When they call you up, keep your head raised. This is all you, you are the eighth person for the job. You'll make an amazing sheriff." Caitlyn hugs Vi tightly. "Thank you brawler, I love you." She nuzzles into Vi's neck and remains till it starts.
The announcements start with the initial speeches. Vi holds Caitlin's hand and kisses it. The announcer introduces Caitlyn as she walks to come up the steps of the stage. She stands tall in front of everyone and proudly speaks. "I am honored to be your new sheriff. We have a long way to go but I know that as long as we stay unified then there is nothing that can stop progress. Progress comes in many forms, lately it has been in technology but with me as sheriff it's time for the citizens to have progress as well. More resources put into helping those harmed in recent attacks, the innocent parties in Stillwater Prison and rooting out all corruption. We will become better, you have my word for a better future!" The crowd cheers and Vi stands up clapping shouting. "Sheriff Cupcake!"
Vi's side of what happened:
Caitlyn smiles only for a moment then she screams "Run!" Jinx's bombs were above them and started going off. Vi runs to go after Caitlyn but too many people were between them. In the mist of chaos she spots a child fall and getting trampled by panicked people in that moment she jumps for the child to get him out of there. She puts the child off to the side and tells him to run far and fast before more bombs go off. Vi runs back into the crowd and after Caitlyn. She sees her with her rifle out shooting at something. Caitlyn yells to Vi "Don't worry about me! Help the injured!" Vi hesitates "That's an order! Go now!" Vi nods and carries the injured to safety. Grabbing all the children, moving all out of the way. She spots Jinx in the corner of one of the tents and runs after her not knowing it was a trap. The moment Vi entered the tent a bomb went off pinning her to the ground while a toxic gas spreads with the source being a machine made by Jinx. Next thing she knows she's being helped out by paramedics when Mr. Kiramman runs towards her. He's held back by the other paramedics but yells "That's my daughter move out of my way!" He pushes them and embraces Vi. "Are you already?" Vi nods and tries to lift her head. "Miss, keep the oxygen mask on. You need clean air, you must keep breathing it in till you feel more lucid." "Please listen to them Vi." He pleads to her. Vi lays down and they bring her to the hospital. Vi falls asleep on the way there.
When Vi wakes up she sees Mr. Kiramman sitting there at her bedside but doesn't see Caitlyn. "Is she alright? Is she in another room? Where is she?" He slowly looks up at her. "She... she was taken... You were found with a note on you but I need you to not act impulsively" He hands her a note that reads "Your precious omega took you from me and now she will pay the price." Vi jolts up growling and he tries to hold her down. "Stop, stay put! Please, you are injured! Let the enforcers do their job, I can't lose you too. I know we had a rough start but Vi, you are like a daughter to me. I want Caitlyn in my arms as badly as you do but you need to let the enforcers go after her so you can heal. Please... I can't lose both of my daughters... you almost died... I'm pretty sure the only reason why you are still alive is because you are a primal..." Vi looks at him distressed. They held each other but Vi couldn't just sit there. The moment he fell asleep she ripped out the IV and out of the hospital gown. She's getting her omega back.
Caitlyn's side of what happened:
Smiling out to the crowd till a light catches her eye she notices that it's the small firefly bombs that Jinx makes... oh no... She screams "Run!" And watches the bombs go off. She moves to higher ground and sees more incoming. Looking around she sees these boxes that are acting as a border that activates the bomb once crossed. Grabbing her Rifle she begins to shoot each box. She notices Vi in the crowd and calls out to her. "Don't worry about me! Help the injured!" She sees her hesitate and yells at her. "That's an order! Go now!" Caitlyn goes back to it till she hears Jinx laughing. "So, they made you sheriff... of course they did, why does everyone like you?" Caitlyn moves to shoot her but Jinx is too fast. She grabs the barrel of the gun and points it to the side as it goes off then rips it out of her hand. Caitlyn grabs her hunting knife on her belt and prepares to fight. Jinx runs at her but she jumps to the side getting Jinx stabbed cleanly in the side. Jinx grabs tiny bead bomb and throws them at her then gets out of the way. Caitlyn gets knocked to the ground she tries to get up but Jinx tosses her leaving her disoriented. She watches as Jinx walks towards one of the tent but before seeing what happens next she passes out from the pain.
