Caitlyn's time away from Vi
Mr. Kiramman runs to his daughter after having Vi call him using the hospital phone. He sees her screaming for Vi but she's no where to be seen. Embracing his daughter he feels her cling on sobbing. He releases calming hormones to try to help her breathe. "It's going to be okay. Breathe Caitlyn please. You're safe. Vi will be alright and she'll come back. Trust her."
Over the next few days Caitlyn refuses to eat so she was put on an IV. He tried to cheer her up with putting her favorite movies on to bringing her favorite foods but nothing worked. Then 2 more days later he goes to her and tells her. "It's been a week since I was told we could see your mother, we can go today. I know a lot has happened but I'm sure she'd love to see you." Caitlyn looks up at him and takes a deep breath before speaking. "I want to see her but I thought Vi would be with me when you told us. I had hoped that she'd come back by now..." He comforts her and takes a seat on the bed. "I know it's hard but you need to keep going without her. You are the sheriff now, get back up. You need to eat to let them take you off the IV, you need to get up so you can make the changes that you promised everyone, you need to stand tall so everyone knows that you are the right person for the job, and you have to face your mother to see what happened to her over a year ago. She's awake and has been waiting for you I'm sure. Probably screamed at the doctors to have visitors already the moment she woke up last week. Be proud when you face her since well... she doesn't know you are marked yet..." The two laugh at that and Caitlyn lifts her head. She nods to him and he grabs a nurse to remove the IV. They grab food and head home. Once home, Caitlyn in a low voice turns to her father. "Can we go tomorrow to see mother? Today I just want time to prepare myself." "Of course sweetheart." And with that he heads to his room while Caitlyn goes to hers. She stares at the bed that she's been so use to sharing with Vi that it feels lonely. She curls up on the bed trying not to miss her.
Next day, Caitlyn wakes up and gets dressed. As she looks into the mirror she sees her mark, she runs her fingers over it and holds back tears. Today is not the day to cry. After getting ready she heads out to her father and together they walk into the hospital. Once at the door the two take a deep breath and walk in.
Caitlyn's mom sits up as Caitlyn runs into her arms. She pulls back from her daughter and just stares... "What?... you smell different... are you marked?" She asks while growling at her. "I am, I chose an alpha that I wish to remain with and she chose the same." Caitlyn states with her head held high. Her father smiles as he puts an arm around his daughter. "She chose well! I met this wonderful alpha, she truly cares for our daughter. She is trustworthy, respectful and loving. I have grown to like her and I believe that you in time will too, my love." She snarls at both of them. "I'm out of commission for what? A year? And that was enough time to pick a lifelong partner? No waiting till I meet her first?!" Caitlyn respond glaring at her. "You did meet her, you called her a stray..." Her mother growls. "Are you serious Caitlyn?! Her?!" "Yes mother, I care for you and you are just going to have to accept that." Her mother sighs. "What else changed? Will I get to meet her officially as your... mate...?" Caitlyn hesitates. "Good news, I'm the new sheriff of Piltover. As far as seeing Vi... she is dealing with Jinx so will be away for I don't know how long... Jinx is Vi's sister..." Her mother stares dagger before screaming. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Her father jumps in. "It's amazing right honey? Our daughter the sheriff!" He knows she made about the whole Vi & Jinx thing but distraction... please focus on the good... The mother sighs seeing what he's trying to do. "Yes the promotion is fantastic and I'm sure you worked extremely hard for it but-" He cuts her off. "There is no buts. When all hell broke loose she gave the order to get people to safety even the alphas listened, her alpha listened. She is in charge of her own destiny, rank doesn't matter when she's the hardest worker who earned that position." The mother glares at him for doing that, he isn't the same quite omega she married... he is speaking out against her. "Fine, we'll see." The three tried to change topics to a more relaxing one.
Over the next few weeks her mother came home and things went on as normal. All of them went to work to change Piltover. Caitlyn hired new recruits to train, fired all lazy or cruel enforcers, and kept her vow to herself to change Stillwater Prison. This was the time of change.
After 3 months of constant work, crime went down exponentially. She began to find herself lonely with less work to keep herself occupied.
Soon, other alphas started speaking to her. Asking if her alpha is dead since she's nowhere to be seen. Caitlyn arrested countless after they got too pushy when told that hers is still alive and to back off. Getting annoyed she just started to stay home during her weekend and after work, only going out with her parents where her mother threatens to rip out any of their throats if they come within 5 feet of her child. In this moment she's glad to have an over protective mother as she doesn't have the energy to deal with alphas trying to mate.
Once things started to become normal again she gets a familiar smell coming from the door. Could it be?
