bopdog111: Well it's time to check in on the Inner Circle.
Ulrich362: True, it's been a while since we've seen what they've been doing and I have a feeling they weren't just sitting around while the Lancers fought Roget.
bopdog111: If the last chapter was anything to worry about there getting all the Inner Circle back together. Including that Rook has a brother, and Queen has a World Legacy herself.
Ulrich362: True, so let's see what's going on with them, enjoy the chapter.

Right now in the office of the complete Inner Circle there sits Bishop, Alexander, Lancelot, and Rook together while they wait for the last members. King at the moment is in his office working on something while Queen is busy on business ventures, and the last member Rook's brother is on his way to the meeting there all having. While there all waiting several cards we're in front of the Inner Circle members.
World Shield for Lancelot.
World Ark for Alexander.
World Chalice for Bishop.
And World Lance for Rook.
They been discussing some things to figure out about the details before the door opened where someone walked in, "Am I late?" He was a short white haired man that resembles Rook except he isn't as obese as he is along with wearing a gray business suit, and red tie with a nametag that says Rook on it. It doesn't take a genius to figure out he is Rook's brother, a brother he despises.
"No, we're still waiting on King and Queen." Alexander answered. "Have you been informed of our situation?"
"Yes, Zeke informed me that all the World Legacies need to be reunited together to deal with the situation with Playmaker." the man walked over sitting down at the chair opposite to Rook. Rook growled at him from the name which the man cleared his throat, "Sorry... I mean Black Rook."
Rook glared at him before turning away, "For all I care, we would be doing fine without you."
"Oh please, if you really are doing well without me then why did you ring for me, and haven't gotten it taken care of yet?" the man asked him with a challenging grin which made Rook stood up at a snap glaring intently at him which the man didn't flinch crossing his arms staring at him with a grin.
"That's enough out of you both." Bishop told them. "Your petty squabbles aren't important right now, we have more serious matters to deal with."
Rook glared before turning away sitting down while the man looked triumphant with a grin before he gave a bow in his seat before looking into his Deck, and placed a card; World Legacy - World Crown, "So, what's happening around here clearly while I was gone? Zeke-" Glare. "*ahem* Black Rook informed me that Playmaker had taken some info, and the Knights of Hanoi had damaged Link VRAINS severely before something took over the servers."
"That's unfortunately correct." mentioned a voice as they turned to see King and Queen had arrived.
The man stood up bowing with a smile, "King, Queen. It's good to see you two again."
"The pleasure is all ours, White." King stated simply walking over to his seat with Queen beside him, "Sit." The man, White, sat back down before he informed him. "What you had been told is correct. In our attempts to capture the Ignis, we bumped heads with Playmaker, and the Knights of Hanoi. In the end Emperor failed, and was demoted as a result now as Prince-"
"Cause the high and mighty bitch slapped him." Lancelot interjected to White which made Queen gave a glare at him.
"-, and now that something that took over the servers is none other then Jean-Michel Roget an envoy to the Fusion Dimension during the Interdimensional War." King continued like he wasn't interrupted. "And right now from all the events happening here we are moving forward with our plans earlier then scheduled, and we are also believing Prince is doing something behind our backs."
"So all the World Legacies are reuniting cause of circumstances that can be problematic in the future if we continue waiting." White said hearing that nodding before asking, "But how come Alexander, and Lancelot haven't took care of him yet? It's there job to stop attacks like these isn't it?"
"That's where another issue comes in, Roget was somehow able to prevent anyone without a direct connection to the Dimensional War from entering Link Vrains." Lancelot admitted. "We've been trying but as of yet we're unable to deal with him. Though it seems the Lancers are handling that issue for us."
"I see that does sound rather problematic." White said cupping his chin in thought. "How are they doing on it so far?"
"He's been using the Decks we had from that contest on your suggestion." Queen gave her own verdict on that. "The Decks we're powerful but both the Hell, and Runick Decks had fallen. And now we detected readings of the Deck below Tentacluster is being used."
"So the Chameleon's are gonna be coming out." White nodded hearing that. "Well it'll be interesting to see how it will fair against the Lancers. This is all most exciting that we get to see how the Pawn Drones will fare by how the Decks work right?"
"Yes indeed." King agreed before shaking his head. "But whatever the case, the details aren't important. Now we are here to discuss our reason we're all gathered here, and we are getting off topic."
"Of course, I apologize." White bowed to him before saying, "Now let's get this on the road shall we?"
"That's the first smart thing you ever said." Black spat at his brother while glaring daggers at him with crossed arms.
"Actually, there is one other small detail I've learned. We have a leak in our own data and files." Queen mentioned suddenly.
"A leak?" Bishop asked hearing that.
Lancelot glared at her. "And you just NOW thought to share that important detail with us?"
"I was only now able to confirm it." Queen told him simply. "Someone is illegally using Inner Council access to send files outside of SOL Technologies to someone else, and if the records are right... they've been doing this for close to a year at this point."
"In other words we have a spy in our ranks with us." Alexander said hearing that crossing his arms. "But who in there right mind would do this to us?"
"No one in their right mind." Lancelot frowned. "Though, the only way to get Inner Council access is to be part of the Inner Council or to be in a high position and... wait could it be Zaizen?"
"Out of the question." Black stated to them as he said, "Sure his methods, and the way he takes things are questionable but like Prince stated before his work ethic, and loyalty is unquestionable."
"Loyalty aside he's one of the only people who would have access... well, him and what's his name with the worthless robots." White pointed out. "Could it have been him trying to make himself look good?"
"Kitamura?" Bishop asked giving some thoughts, "Prince fired him recently so he shouldn't have access anymore."
"Well that leaves us and Zaizen, unless someone else was given access for some reason but who? Should we start interrogating every single SOL Tech employee?" Alexander questioned.
King shook his head. "No let's not bother with it."
"Right." Bishop nodded.
"What? But sir-"
"It's of no concern for the moment." King stated simply to Black. "The Spy would try to fight, and we would lose so much data. Besides this is an interesting game there playing. There more likely to reveal themselves the more this goes on, and at the end when we win we will apprehend the spy, and take the Ignis. It's win-win, they live in false hope they stay in safety, and we manage to kill two birds with one stone."
"Of course." Black nodded hearing that.
"Now is there anything else to share?" King asked looking over everyone.
"Nothing of note, though we should figure out what we're going to do following the Lancers inevitable success. Link VRAINS is in ruins thanks to the Hanoi." Alexander frowned.
"We will update Link VRAINS." King stated to them saying, "Link VRAINS is now too delicate at this point so now we need to create an upgraded version of it."
"After all the trouble we went through to get it ready, we are giving up on it?" Queen asked him staring at him like he's crazy.
"It's condition cannot be repaired due to the damage the Tower of Hanoi placed it through." King explained over to her looking at her. "Most of it can be salvaged, and repaired, however it cannot be fixed completely. It's too damaged, so we should worry about creating a newly updated platform. Of course we need to make it better then ever before. And that also includes one thing that we didn't think of including in the old Link VRAINS."
"Something new?" Bishop questioned. "Ah, something connected to the World Legacy perhaps?"
"Indeed." King confirmed with a nod. "To do this we need to get personally involved." He reached placing World Wand on the table in front of him before turning to Queen. "Maria, your World Legacy." He said his first name which informed her to do what he says.
Frowning she took out a sealed deck box before opening it and taking out a card, World Legacy - World Armor.
White whistled at that. "I thought you abandoned the Krawlers for that cheap knock-off of Queens."
Queen glared at him hatefully. "I keep it reserved to show my ugliness when I'm pissed off. And now I'm close to unleash it on you if you don't shut up."
"Okay, okay, can't take a joke?" White raise his hands in surrender at her while Black face-palmed.
"Enough." King announced before he stated to them. "As I was saying before what we lacked in the Old Link VRAINS is something that we need to get personally involved in. A creator, a originator, a destroyer... A God."
Hearing that the rest of the inner circle turned to him.
"All our World Legacies have unique codes, and access points that no other cards can access effectively allowing us to shape Link VRAINS as we see fit." King explained over to everyone. "The Inner Circle is formed from who I trust to give a World Legacy too cause these cards are the very pinnacle of Link VRAINS itself where in the wrong hands, they will shape Link VRAINS to make it as there own image. The risk is too great to give it to random people."
He then looked over to everyone, "With me wielding the World Wand, I control the space, and sky. With the World Armor, Queen controls the ground down. With the World Chalice, Bishop controls the life of virtual animals, and NPCs, with the World Shield, and World Ark, the Knight Brothers control the monuments, and relics that make up many events Link VRAINS has to offer. And with the World Crown, and World Lance both, Black, and White Rooks control the enforcers of Link VRAINS, the Pawn Drones. Every card has a risk that in the wrong hands it will result in disastrous consequences."
He then looked over to everyone, "And of course, the main progenitor of the codes, and the core of Link VRAINS itself that allows it to become stable is the very example of a God. A God that must be channeled, and used right. Cause now all our World Legacies must be united together for the candidate selected to become the God of Link VRAINS allowing them to shape it into our views without question, and use the Power of the Core of Link VRAINS to it's full extent."
"Well then it should clearly be you, no one else deserves to be the God of Link VRAINS." Bishop stated calmly.
"Agreed, you're the one who brought us all together, led SOL Technologies to prosper, and helped create Link VRAINS itself." Alexander nodded.
"While I am honored to be agreed as the candidate... I'm afraid this task isn't for me." King said to them.
"Then who could serve that role?" White Rook asked curiously.
Before King can answer Black Rook intervened, "A more better important question is why exactly would you refuse this? Your the one who done everything for us to get where we are now!"
"He isn't refusing the position brother, if you would pay attention you'd have understood this isn't his role." White Rook stated calmly. "While I can't understand why any would be better we should both be quiet and allow King to tell us himself."
He then turned to King.
"Please forgive my brother's unprofessional behavior, you were saying King?"
"No-one was talking to you!"
"Stow it both of you!" Bishop snapped at the two Rooks.
King stared as they quieted before he then said, "To make it clear Black is right, I am refusing the position as the God of Link VRAINS. The reason why is because the amount of coding requires making the Power of the Cyberse able to augment with World Lance, and the Core itself as we know the Cyberse are the very Data, and Coding of the Ignis able to shape anything to there views. But under my abilities it's too unstable for me to harness which can potentially destroy my conscious data. Even if we could develop the needed equipment for me to handle it, and we can't, it would take years for me to master, and harness completely."
He closed his eyes shaking his head before then opening his eyes looking at the Inner Circle. "But luckily... there's an alternative."
"What alternative?" Queen asked him curiously while sealing her Krawler deck tightly and placing it away and out of sight.
King turned over to Queen before saying, "We have someone here in SOL Technologies that has experience with the Cyberse as one of the origins of the Ignis itself. An employee that is still young, and can be trained right. An employee that is destined to be the next CEO of SOL Technologies. And lastly an employee we both are training right to prepare for the role."
Her eyes widened. "You mean... but Aku! He's a failure!"
"Indeed... However it doesn't mean he's a COMPLETE failure." King stated to her simply while turning back, "He might've failed to stop the Knights of Hanoi before but failure allows growth. There is a price to pay for everything we gain, or lose. And we need to advance with our plans now rather then later, and at the moment he's the only available candidate as he is with Ignis, he is ideal for us to shape as the God of Link VRAINS."
He then told the rest of the Inner Circle, "But of course he lacks a World Legacy of his own. That is what we are all gathered for. We are creating one with one part of our World Legacies together while also bringing the Core of Link VRAINS itself onto a card for him to master."
"Is that even possible?" Lancelot questioned. "Creating a new World Legacy?"
"We done it before that took us a lot of work. Now we all must unite the World Legacies together for us to make it reality." King said to them. "In addition as the Ignis control a new amount of data, and all the Attributes when there augmented when we capture them, they will give him new special abilities effectively allowing him to reach perfection. What I'm asking is much out of you all, but I ask you all to lend us your power for us to allow him to ascend Godhood in Link VRAINS."
"Of course." Bishop nodded hearing that.
"But sir are you sure you can't take it?" Lancelot asked him concerned.
"Even if I could, I can't be around forever. My time is shorter then his, so even if I can, my reign is not forever." King answered that question. "That is why we must have him train, and understand how much is at stake at this point."
He then pointed to Bishop, "Bishop."
"Sir?" Bishop asked hearing that.
"Call Prince. And inform him to come immediately." King ordered him.
"Sir." Bishop nodded stepping outside of the room before making the call.
"Well this is quite a predicament. Isn't it Zeke?"
Black growled at White who corrected himself, "Black! Black Rook!"
"Would you just shut up?" Black growled at him.
Everyone else sighed at this.
Meanwhile...
Sota was with the others talking about the new deal before his phone rang, "Huh?" He pulled it out looking at the contact, "It's Bishop."
"What does he want?" Yugo questioned.
Sota answered the call, "Yes, Bishop?"
"Prince, where are you? Your father is summoning you immediately." Bishop told him.
"Sorry, I was in the middle of some discussion with Emma, Akira, Kenneth, and Misaki." Sota calculatedly lied with some truth added to make it believable. "Can I ask what father is calling me for?"
"He's giving you a chance to make up for your failure, we're all waiting so get here as soon as possible." Bishop told him only to pause. "Come alone, those four aren't going to babysit you forever."
"Understood be there in 10." Sota said before hanging up, and turned over, "Sorry, I got to get going. Kenneth, Misaki, Emma, Akira, they asked me to come alone so you four need to stay here with them."
"I understand." Akira nodded as Emma and Misaki knelt and hugged him.
He hugged them back before Kenneth looked at him saying, "Sota." Sota looked over to Kenneth as he stared before turning away, "Don't let him do anything." Yup bad at feelings.
Sota only chuckled though, "I will." Despite what Kenneth looks like he's really a big softie for Sota as he waved before walking off. Misaki only sighed seeing that before smiling at him.
Back at SOL Technologies...
When Bishop walked in King brings out a device that has slots on them before he inserted World Wand into it while Queen inserts World Armor. One by one the rest of the Inner Circle inserted their World Legacies into the device. King pressed a button as the device powers up. Just then King brings out a template card placing it on the top of the device as it generated some codes extracting some from each World Legacy being augmented together. Soon the template card which is a random Cyberse Monster starts to change from the augmented codes together transforming in front of there eyes.
"The birth of a new World Legacy." Queen whispered.
After a minute the process is complete as King takes the new card raising it up, "We done it... the Power of all the World Legacies... and the Power of the Cyberse... in a single card." He raised it up. "Rejoice for the birth of the new World Legacy! The "World Key"!"
They see the new card is a sword shaped key with a gold handle, and a emerald gem at the base over space as they examined what are it's abilities.

"World Key, but it seems rather weak." Bishop frowned.
"Well despite how it looks, I'm curious to see what it can do." White said cupping his chin.
A beeping is heard as a worker widen his eyes looking over, "King sir!" They looked over as he said, "The Core of Link VRAINS is being unstable as a card!"
King looked at the new card before saying, "Well let's see if this can stabilize it." He walked over to the machine generating the Core.
"Will this work?" Alexander inquired.
"Let's find out." Queen stated as they walked over.
Arriving King looked seeing some unstable ground on the template card before King looked, and inserted World Key into a card slot. A screen above stated loading as it takes the code from World Key into the databanks before the computer said, "Successful."
At that the unstable ground in the machine stopped stabilizing as it continued working as normal on the template card where the Core of LINK VRAINS will take it's place on.
"Fascinating, Link VRAINS will evolve." Black Rook smirked.
The card finished downloading as the lid pulled out letting out the large steam cloud as King reached his hand grabbing the card, and pulled it out raising it.
They see the Core of Link VRAINS is now a card as a large orb with several machine like configurations around the smaller brighter orb.

"Incredible." Bishop whispered as the door opened.
"Father, you called for me?"
They looked over seeing Prince just arrived bowing as King smirked saying, "Ah Prince, you came in at just the right time. I'm sure that Bishop already informed you, I have a task for you to make up for your failure regarding the Tower of Hanoi?"
"Yes, what do you need me to do?" Prince inquired only King noticed he flinched ever so slightly seeing Queen.
"We have a important task for you. Regarding the amount of damage that happened during the battle we all decided it be better to salvage what we can, and create a newly upgraded Link VRAINS." King stated to his son. "However there is one difference that must be implemented to prevent another war with the Hanoi from destroying it as before."
Prince's eyes widened before he nodded. "I'll do whatever I can to help the future of Link Vrains."
"Then you should know that to make sure it's protected, it would require someone who can create, destroy, and cast judgement. What it needs... is a God." King revealed over to Prince, "And Prince despite your failure, we all decided it be best for you to become the God of Link VRAINS to create new data, make it grow, and eliminate all threats."
Prince's eyes widened in shock. "I... father I'm honored but, do I deserve a role that even outranks you?"
"If I ever attempt to manage it which I can't, the data would be too unstable for me to take due to the immense coding, and Power of the Cyberse together." King stated to him before saying, "However for your case as you have experience with the Cyberse before your suited for the role yourself. Including the use of Mastering these two."
He shows Prince the two cards that were just created. His eyes widened more. "I... I see, then it's time I evolve past my Simorgh cards?"
"Indeed. You can still use the Deck however now you must work to manage the Power of the World Key, and the Power of the Core of Link VRAINS to master your new role. Once the situation with Roget ends we will begin your training immediately." King offered the cards which Prince reaches only for King to pull them away, "However Prince... there is one grave detail you must understand."
"Father?" Prince asked hearing that.
"The codes that were given to the World Key along with the World Gears as the Core of Link VRAINS together already allow you to control most of Link VRAINS. But for your abilities to truly achieve perfection, and mastery you need all six of the Ignis augmented into your role." King stated seriously to Prince. "And this power is also dangerous in the wrong hands, so do not inform anyone else of your role as the God of Link VRAINS. We are depending a lot on you, and now you have to deliver your best."
"I understand." he nodded.
With that King re-offered the World Key, and World Gears to Prince. He slowly took the cards before nodding.
"Well little guy we're giving you a lot of hope." White stated to him with crossed arms, "Be sure not to waste it."
"I won't." Prince reassured him.
"So now, we simply wait?" Lancelot inquired.
"Roget is still keeping us locked out." Bishop said before telling Prince, "Until Roget is defeated your free as your pleased. But remember the dire conditions your father placed on you."
"I understand." Prince nodded.
"What about that other matter Queen brought to our attention, we should nip that in the bud sooner rather than later." Black Rook pointed out.
"I said it's none of our concern." King reminded at him, "For now we wait, it'll show up sooner, and we kill it, and take the Ignis with one stone."
They all nodded at that though Queen frowned.
"Prince your excused for now."
Prince nodded at King's order, and headed out just as King crossed his arms, "Well all that's left is to construct a Deck for him to use the abilities all together. This would mean duplicating the World Legacies for him to use."
"Well, we don't have anything else to do at this point." Alexander sighed.
"White, Black you two get to work on getting the SOLtiS Androids developed for the Pawn Drones while we work more." King instructed the two.
"Sir." they nodded walking off together.
Back with Sota...
Sota walked back in with the others.
"Is everything alright, what did they want?" Zuzu asked him.
"Well... father just gave me a large task." Sota admitted to them, "Due to the heavy damage Link VRAINS sustained from the battle with the Knights of Hanoi, the Inner Circle decided to pick up the pieces, and start over again."
"Start over?" Yuya asked hearing that.
"There taking what's left of it, and reconstruct it into a new fully updated, and better version of itself." Sota explained it to them. "But they included a major difference onto the new version."
"I take it the difference is related to why they called you?" Declan inquired calmly.
"Yes. Father told me it's needs something that can operate it to make it better, make it grow, destroy the pieces to form new possibilities, and take care of any threats. In short this new version of Link VRAINS is going to have a God." Sota revealed to them.
"A God?" Yuri questioned in shock.
"The Inner Circle can control Link VRAINS from the power of there cards the World Legacy archetype." Sota explained over to them. "That along with the Core of Link VRAINS, it allows them complete control allowing them to do what they want."
He then pulled out the two cards King gave him showing them.
"And now they all created a new World Legacy for me to use that has the Power of all 7 of the other World Legacies for me to use. The World Legacy - "World Key"." Sota explained the Level 1 monster first, "And then the Link Monster, it is the Core of Link VRAINS itself into a card form for me to use with the World Key to master my new role as the God of Link VRAINS. But for me to truly master my power, and become perfect is to acquire the six Ignis."
"Ai, the Water Ignis, and the four others." Celina noted hearing that.
"But why pick you of all people?" Emma asked Sota confused. "Wouldn't King be a better person to choose?"
"He said the coding, and power with this, and the Cyberse together will be too much for him to control. But from my experience at the Lost Incident, it allows me to manage the power without any repercussions." Sota explained why to them.
Declan nodded hearing that. "We should inform the others about what's going on, and that Roget is nearly defeated."
"If my guess is right, I know what the second best Deck is." Sota informed to them.
"What kind of strategy is he going to try?" Riley asked.
"Rapid depletion of Life Points, and Deck for devastating strategies." Sota answered.
Declan frowned hearing that but calmly nodded. "I see, it sounds simple but knowing Roget it's anything but."
With that he activated his Duel Disk.
"Into the VRAINS!"
Ulrich362: Sota… the god of Link VRAINS.
bopdog111: Well the Inner Circle's goal is still the same but unlike before Sota didn't get any cybernetic enhancements.
Ulrich362: True, that said Roget shouldn't be an issue for Declan.
bopdog111: I don't know from how Sota sounds Declan would be in a difficult battle.
Ulrich362: The same could be said for Roget. Oh and of course two couples should meet, and a certain man should learn about the third.
bopdog111: Who are they?
Ulrich362: Lilly and Ryoken meeting up with Sachiko and Steve... and of course Akira should learn about his younger sister's new relationship with Yusaku. See you in the next chapter.
