The sun was beginning to rise over the mountains behind the Valley of Peace, this gave the sky a beautiful purple and orange color. The voices from the crowd in town began to be heard, waking up and preparing for a new day.
The furious five, as they used to, woke up just as the the sun appeared, so at this time the bedrooms were already empty. If you looked at one of them you would see a spectacular order, everything was in place and perfectly cleaned, they had a routine before waking up that helped them to have a discipline that differentiated them from the others.
Mantis made breakfast for the team, he was the earliest riser ever, so he was given this daily task.
Monkey and Crane always had a few minutes of meditation before starting the day, so they were on reflection hill.
Viper at this time used to go out to town to buy what was necessary for the day, such as food or necessary objects that could be used as medicine or emergency kits.
Tigress used to train very early, which helped her stay active from the morning on.
Three bells rang in the distance, at the top of the jade palace, these were played by Mantis to notify that breakfast was ready, it was the signal for the five of them to meet before starting the day.
The first to arrive were Monkey and Crane who, being closer, were able to get to the kitchen quickly, plus they were always the ones who woke up hungrier.
Shortly after Tigress arrived, and followed by her friend, Viper, entered the table.
The five of them sat down in their usual places and began to eat breakfast.
"I can't believe it, I think it's the best breakfast you've ever made! Where did you get this recipe from because you have to make it more often" said Monkey as he happily ate the food.
"The truth is that I made it up this morning, but I didn't know if you were going to like it or not. The truth is that it was a little bit nervous that you wouldn't like it, so I kind of hid it in noodles, that we eat everyday, so I just made a few changes, but anyways, I'm glad you liked it ." Mantis said happily.
The five of them continued to eat happily, enjoying every bite they took from the plate they had, as if it were a recipe worth gold.
Tigress finished, got up and put her empty dish in the sink.
As she headed towards the exit she just turned to Mantis and said softly "Thanks for the food Mantis, you know how to always cheer us up" after which she turned and walked out the door.
Tigress at this time went for a walk through the gardens of the Jade Palace, she was used to do this whenever she felt overwhelmed.
Right now what she felt was something strange. Since she woke up, she began to feel a presence near the palace that she had not felt for almost two years. She didn't feel this kind of need to be alert for a while now, so she decided to go out towards the stairs of the Jade Palace to investigate what was calling her.
She stood in front of the stairs and looking down she could see a shadow approaching towards the palace.
Tigress seeing this felt a shiver run through her entire body, her senses told her to prepare to fight, she was preparing for a fight that had happened long ago, she started feeling in a dream, as if it was a memory of some sort.
But before she could continue she saw that this shadow remained static, looking at Tigress directly, without making any movement.
At this moment, Tigress decided to slowly approach the shadow. She started descending step by step, one step at a time, as slowly as he could in order to avoid any signs of aggression against the shadow, getting closer and closer by second.
"Who are you!?" Tigress yelled as she approached the shadow, but it didn't answer anything, it didn't make any noise, nor did it move.
"What do you want!?" She tried again, getting closer to this weird ghost, this shadow, but it didn't answer.
Tigress gave up on communicating with it, but being almost ten steps away from this being, she realized that it was just someone with a cape and a hood.
This person turned to see Tigress, and slowly reached his hands towards the hood, and then slowly continued to lift this hood, thus revealing his face.
Tigress, seeing this, froze, her eyes narrowed and her fangs clenched. Her whole body tensed and she put her arms up in defense.
Slowly and in an aggressive voice she whispered "Tai Lung!"
The presumably deceased snow leopard stood in front of Tigress, but something was strange in his face, he had a scar that ran from forehead to mouth, and crossed over a blind eye, this eye was white, but yet he could see perfectly.
"Yeah, well, at least I'm what's left of him" said a Tai Lung who sounded tired and exhausted.
"I think you can tell... *cough*, but I need a place to rest." Tai Lung said to Tigress as he slowly approached looking for help.
"One more step and you will rest in a grave." Tigress said as she looked at him in surprise "Again."
"I don't think I'd like that, I've been there almost two years, and I just escaped, so don't do anything that..."
Before he could finish, Tai Lung was knocked out by a blow to the back of the head from Crane.
"Is that?..." Crane said before Tigress stole the word from him. "Yes, the deceased Tai Lung"
"We better get him inside and chain him up before he wakes up," Crane said confused at what was going on.
A few hours later Tai Lung slowly began to wake up. The five of them had him held in a cell inside the palace strong enough to prevent him from moving for at least a month, before being transported to a more secure prison.
At this moment he began to open his eyes, you could hear his grunts and moans of pain, he felt tired and in addition to this, not having one eye made it difficult for him to fixate with one.
"Well, you're awake, I feel like it's time for you to tell us what the hell you're doing here" said Tigress who was sitting opposite Tai Lung on the other side of the cell.
Tai Lung glared at her from his one good eye, looking her up and down as he tried to focus slowly. "I would tell you if you let go of these chains" said Tai
Lung as he shaked his hands, showing the handcuffs he had. "I have nointention of harming any of you, I learned that a long time ago."
"And you think I'm going to trust simple words" Tigress said as she looked at Tai Lung seriously.
"Better let me tell you why, and you will judge from that if I am trustworthy or not, I ask you to at least give me the benefit of the doubt at this time." Said Tai Lung now staring into Tigress's eyes.
"Okay, but I hope you don't waste my time!, if you do I promise, you will be death after tonight" Tigress said as she sat down to listen to her enemy's story.
To be continued...
