A shadowy figure bounded in the distance as Sesshoumaru drew his sword and slashed the large fiend that lurked in the shadowed woods behind him. I ran his finger across the blood covered blade, accidentally slicing a small cut on his finger in the process. He sheathed his sword and continued walking, watching as terrified demons sank into the darkness at his presence. He truly didn't understand their fear, he may be short tempered,evil, cold hearted, and just plain mean sometimes, but under the tough exterior lies more secrets than you could ever even begin to fathom. But most of all, there was lonliness. Sure he had Rin, Jaken and AhUm.... but he could never call them real friends, they were just mindlessly following him, never once questioning a word he said....out of fear. He continued walking the well worn path cutting through the middle of the forest...all alone.

It was dark out by the time he reached the small clearing where the bone eaters well stood. He was instantly reminded of his brother and the girl that traveled with him. He cocked his head to the side, deep in thought, before he let a wave of emotion wash over his face for the first time since he was young. He realized he never really hated Inuyasha, but hate was all he ever knew. Lonliness was his only friend and coldness was his only response. He continued walking down the path, mindlessly wandering to an unknown destination.
I walk this empty street

By the time he reached the river, dawn was calling. He decided to sit by the river for a while and rest. He looked at his reflection in the water, and frowned, a mere shadow of his dissapointment.
"I'm all I have," he said to his reflection and pain hit his heart. He winced and stood to leave. He looked back at his reflection in the water, pushed back tears, shook his head, and left, back into the darkness that the forest brought him.

He traveled down the path once more, mentally scolding himself for pushing everyone away. He wished someone could look at him and see through all the hate and toughness and see into his heart, and see how much he needed a companion, a friend.
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone
"Why must I be so cold all the time?" he asked himself. He had turned cold over the years, cold and black. All he radiated was darkness, and he was tired of it. His heart, his soul, the very blood that ran through his veins, ran cold and dark.
Check my vital signs to know I'm still alive
Sesshoumaru eventually reached the clearing with the bone eaters well to see Rin sitting, waiting patiently. He smiled at her until she turned around, his smile reaplced with the emotionless mask he forced himself to wear around people. She smiled and ran to his, yelling his name with delight.
'Someday she will grow up,' he though to himself, 'and then she will see how much love she gives me that I don't return. Soon she will see how cold I was and how I distanced myself from her and everyone else. Soon she will know better, and hopefully then she will see my pain, and help me.....but until then, I walk alone.'
