I know some of you wanted their first kiss to be a fragment, but the muse took me in another direction. Don't worry though, I'll make up for it with their first sexytime!

Dempsey woke up in a ridiculously good mood. Giddy, he thought. He had never been the type of man to ever do giddy, but here he was. The evidence was undeniable. Everything just seemed more. The sun was brighter, the air was crisper, and he felt amazing; full of energy, like he could run a marathon. He felt light hearted and joyful and hopeful and damn, he really was giddy, and all from a date with a goddess and two kisses. He thought about calling her, just to see if she was in the same mood he was, but hesitated. It was early, and he knew from prior experience that Harry was a grumpy goddess in the mornings if she was woken up. He didn't want to poke that bear just yet, so he got up and showered instead.
After shaving and getting dressed he again thought about calling her. Then he had a better idea; he would take her breakfast instead. It was a good excuse to see her; it would hopefully earn him some points towards a few more kisses, and if by chance he happened to wake her he could appease her with some fresh baked goods. Decision made, he grabbed his wallet and keys and made for the door. He was going to take great delight in clearing up the small matter of a ten pound debt that lay between them. He had experienced a sudden shift of blood that left him barely able to start his car, let alone make it home, but he'd bet dollars to donuts that her knees had buckled. Maybe they could call it a wash and he could convince her to let it ride until their next kiss.

Harry woke up in a deliciously dreamy mood. Her whole body felt super relaxed, like she was floating on a fluffy cloud of sensation, with the odd tingle thrown in here and there for good measure. She smiled at the memory of the previous night, and thought about calling Dempsey, just to see if he was in the same kind of mood that she was, but hesitated. It was early, and maybe he was still sleeping. She didn't want to wake him, so she got up and showered instead.
After daydreaming about Dempsey and his pouty bottom lip for entirely too long, she forced herself to get out of the shower and get ready for the day. She applied her makeup, dried her hair and got dressed, and decided that if he wasn't up by now then she would just wake him up. She sat on the edge of her bed and dialled, and quietly laughed at the butterflies in her stomach as she waited for him to pick up. She had, among other things, a bet to settle.

He was just about out the door when the phone rang. He was going to ignore it, but on the off chance that it was Harry he decided to answer.
"Speak."
"Morning, James."
"Lady Harriet, what a lovely surprise."
She smiled into the phone. "Lady Harriet?"
"Yeah, well, you called me James. You never call me James."
She blushed as she remembered how his lips felt as they slowly but meticulously kissed her. "It feels a little redundant calling you Dempsey after last night, don't you think?"
He grinned as he remembered how soft and warm she felt in his arms, her hands coiled around his neck. "Baby, you can call me whatever you like, as long as you call me."
Harry laughed. "You're in an awfully good mood this morning."
"Yes I am. How are you?"
"I'm just wonderful."
"Yeah? Any particular reason?"
"I had a date last night," she confided, absurdly giddy to be playing this game with him.
"Must have been a good one."
"It started out a little shaky, but ended rather splendidly."
A huge shit-eating grin plastered his face. "Splendidly, huh? I also had a pretty splendid date myself last night."
"Well, what are the odds of that, do you think?"
"About ten to one, I'd say," he joked. "Hey, you have any plans right now?"
"No, my day is free, why?"
"I was just on my way out, thought I'd bring you some breakfast."
"That sounds lovely."
"There's also the little matter of ten pounds that we need to clear up."
"Ah yes, of course."
"I'll see you soon?"
"I'll put some tea on."
Harry reached for her purse. Her knees absolutely had buckled, but she was also pretty sure he'd made it home on instinct alone. Maybe they could go double or nothing for their next kiss.
