After finishing their surgery, which was only supposed to take two hours and ended up taking four because mom coded on the table three times and they almost lost the baby twice, Arizona and Addison were both spent. As they walked down the hall, Addison kept glancing in the blonde's direction causing her to huff and declare, "You know, you'd make a terrible spy, you aren't discreet at all. I am fine Addison. I was a little tense and stressed, but if it will put you at ease, you can check my blood pressure." The other surgeon sighed in relief, smiled ruefully and replied, "It would actually." Arizona hung her head, she knew the next several months were going to be rough, but she figured the tiny humans growing inside of her would be the ones to give her the problems, not the grown ass adults who wanted to run a test every time she hiccupped. Arizona tossed her hands up and muttered, "Fine," then walked into the nearest empty patient room.

Addison nodded toward the bed and just to be arbitrary, Arizona sat on the stool and rolled herself over to the sphygmomanometer. Addie clucked her tongue, put the blood pressure cuff on the fetal surgeon's arm and pushed the button to start inflating the cuff. As the two waited for the results, Addison offered, "Arizona, I know it's a pain in the ass, we are just concerned." Arizona sighed heavily and replied, "I know and I appreciate that. It's just…" She was interrupted by the beeping machine, looked at the numbers and proclaimed, "See, I'm fine." Addison smiled and nodded for her friend to continue. Arizona took off the cuff, stood up, and started walking toward the door and admitted, "It's just the bigger fuss people make, the more I am reminded of how much can go wrong. I mean, I'll be 40 in a month, I have a history of miscarriage, I am an amputee, and I have a high stress job that requires me to be on my feet upwards of 60 hours a week. That's a lot against me for one baby and I have three in here." She unconsciously lifted her hands to rub at her baby bump and laughed at herself when she realized what she had done. Addie slipped her arm through the crook of her friend's elbow and offered, "I get it, I'll try to do better." Arizona smiled, bumped their hips together and asked, "How about we go find a little joy?"

Addison sat in the NICU holding the baby she helped deliver last night and commented, "When you said we should find a little joy, I didn't realize you meant literally." She cooed at the little baby she was holding, the largest of the three babies, then asked, "How is Faith doing?" Arizona looked down at the little girl with a tuft of brown hair and newborn blue eyes she was sure would be turning green like her mother's and replied proudly, "Faith Robbin is doing well. Her breathing is normal, no signs of a murmur, her skin color is pinking up and other than her size, she seems to be holding her own. She's eating just as much as the others and holding it down, so I'm sure she will gain weight in no time." A voice from behind her commanded, "Those are mine, get your own…Oh wait!" Arizona turned to see Larry pushing Erin in her wheelchair and replied, "Funny. I'm just checking in on my favorite patients." Erin crossed her arms in front of her, gave a faux pout and whined, "I thought I was your favorite patient." Arizona passed the tiny baby off to her mother and retorted, "Nah, you were just the vehicle, I was using you to get to them." Addison laughed at the banter and hoped this relationship turned into a friendship, both women would need someone who could relate to their experiences.

Standing up, she passed Joy off to her father who asked, "Where's Hope?" Dr. Yost came up behind him with an incubator and replied, "She's right here, we took her in the other room for her daily tests. When we started on Faith, she started crying, then the other two started screaming right along with her. We figured this would be the better route." Erin shook her head and asked, "So that's a real thing? Feeling each other's pain?" Arizona stuck her hands in her pockets and informed them, "There's been enough research to confirm it, but I think this was just a case of one of them being upset so the others joined in." Both parents nodded then turned their attention to their new family and everyone else disappeared.

While walking down the stairs into the lobby, Arizona decided she should get something on her stomach, if for no other reason than to keep people off her back, and suggested, "I think I am going to order lunch, do you want anything?" Addison nodded toward the lobby and replied, "I think your lunch just arrived." Arizona scrunched up her face in confusion then looked down to see her wife carrying in two large bags of food. Smiling brightly, she skipped the rest of the way down the steps, took the bags from Callie's hands, passed them to Addie, then wrapped her arms around her neck and gave her a searing kiss. It only took the ortho surgeon half a second to respond and she placed her hands on the small of Arizona's back and returned the kiss with fervor. Addison blinked at the bags in her hands and snarled, "Sure, I'll hold these while you inappropriately make out with your wife where everyone can see." Both women started laughing, broke the kiss and while Arizona was wiping the lipstick from Callie's lips, the brunette retorted, "At least I brought you lunch too." Addison looked in the bags, saw all the food and offered, "You know she's not really eating for four right?" Callie chuckled and replied, "I know, we just had a big board meeting and I packed up all the leftovers and brought them over here for you and Arizona and figured you could share with Nicole."

Arizona peeked into the bags and said, "Yum. Can you stay while we eat or do you need to get back over there?" Callie looked at her watch and answered, "I have about an hour before my next appointment. I can stay." Arizona looked to Addie and asked, "Would you mind asking Nicole if she wants to join us?" Addison handed the bags back to Callie and replied, "I'll go get her and meet you in the conference room." Arizona nodded then led the way down the hall. After putting the bags down, Callie pulled Arizona into her arms again and asked, "How was the surgery?" Arizona sighed, put her head on Callie's chest and replied, "It was touch and go for a while, we almost lost them both a couple of times. They are out of the woods for now, but it's hard to know for sure." Arizona closed her eyes feeling the last bit of stress leave her body now that she was in Callie's arms.

Callie rubbed Arizona's back and asked, "How is my beautiful wife? I missed you this morning." Arizona lifted her head and narrowed her eyes at her wife then accused, "No you missed your conversation with the trips." Callie smiled brightly and replied, "I might have missed that a little bit too, but I love waking up and seeing those gorgeous eyes and that sexy smile first thing in the morning." Arizona lifted her hands to hang loosely over Callie's shoulders and asked, "Do you know what I missed?" Callie pulled her closer and shook her head. Arizona stood on her tip toes, brushed their lips together, sucked on Callie's bottom lip, tilted her head and sighed when Callie's tongue slipped into her mouth gliding against hers in a slow sensual dance. When the kiss came to its natural end, Arizona murmured, "I missed my good morning kiss." Callie smiled, bent forward and whispered, "There's more where that came from." Just as their lips touched again, Arizona's stomach rumbled making both women giggle. Callie stepped back, knelt down, put her hand over Arizona's abdomen and asked, "Is mommy starving you? It's okay babies, mama brought you some food." Arizona slapped her wife's shoulder and proclaimed, "I'll have you know I was just about to order lunch when you came in." Callie kissed her nose and said, "Well now you don't have to."

She went to the table, unpacked the containers of food making sure she took out all of Arizona's favorite's first, placed them on the table and ordered, "Come eat woman." Arizona shook her head but did as her wife said. Sitting down, she stated, "I'm only doing what you say because I'm starving." Callie leaned down, licked the shell of her ear and asked, "What was your excuse last night?" Arizona opened the soup container, looked at her wife, arched her brow and purred, "Different kind of hunger." Callie bent her knees pretending to go weak in the knees then sat next to Arizona while she ate.

Arizona was halfway through her bowl of soup when the door opened and Callie and Arizona both turned to greet their friends when they saw Addison enter followed by Shep who was leading Nicole who had one hand over her eyes. Arizona blinked and asked, "Nicole, why the hell are you covering your eyes?" The older woman replied, "I didn't want to see anything I shouldn't, you know in case you two were using the table for something other than lunch…wait, would that still be considered lunch?" Addison and Callie both snorted and broke into a fit of giggles while Arizona stared at her mentor incredulously and proclaimed, "You're blind Nicole." Walking further into the room, the former fetal surgeon shrugged and retorted, "You never know, I've heard of people just miraculously getting their sight back and I didn't want your naked ass being the first thing I saw." Arizona huffed and muttered, "You're ridiculous." Callie leaned over and whispered, "For what it's worth, I think your ass is cute and would definitely want it to be the first thing I saw." Arizona tried not to smile but couldn't resist her wife's charm and started giggling at the whole interaction.

After filling Nicole in on the birth of the triplets, the older fetal surgeon asked, "Speaking of triplets, what is our time frame here?" Callie couldn't help but smile and protectively rest her hand over Arizona's little baby bump making Arizona smile as well. Just talking about them made her so happy. Arizona took a drink of her juice and replied, "Addie figured 32 weeks would put me at around mid-February, so I…" "Will be as big as a house by the beginning of December," Nicole finished for her. Arizona growled and continued, "Given the projected weight gain of someone of my stature carrying multiples, we figured I would probably need to start working on a part time basis doing consults, observing Dr. Yost, and working in my office, off my feet at 22 weeks." Nicole nodded, tilted her head and asked, "Speaking of feet…" Callie could feel her body stiffen and her hand involuntarily clenched into a fist, waiting for the snide remark about Arizona's leg. She would allow the other woman to belittle herself, but she wouldn't tolerate her demeaning Arizona. "Um, is that…do you…hmmm…hell I don't know how that works, will you need to make adjustments? Are you on that Torres? You won't have to be in a…" Callie's body relaxed when she heard the genuine interest and care in the other woman's tone. Arizona looked to Callie and nodded for her to answer.

Callie replied, "I don't know if Arizona told you, but I've made her a robotic leg and we have done some research and are working on another model to withstand the weight gain as well as the shift in weight so her right leg and back don't take all the stress. Our goal is to keep her on her feet throughout her pregnancy." Nicole looked in the direction of the ortho surgeon and asked, "You'll do it? You can do it right? Because you know I added funds to her contract for the upkeep of her prosthetics. If you need to use that, you use it." All three women looked at one another, surprised by the concern they heard in the former fetal surgeon's tone. Nicole knew she was acting out of character and they were all probably staring at her like she was crazy and snapped, "Stop looking at me like that! Look, I have a disability okay? I know what it's like to learn to function with it then to have something happen and set you back. In this case it is a good thing, but it's still a thing. So yes, I am concerned." She stood up then, took Shep's lead and muttered, "I need my fetal surgeon on her damn feet. Can't have her operating from a wheelchair, though I guess she'd get a better view." Addison smirked and quipped, "There she is. Good, for a minute there I thought we would have to call Amelia in." Nicole was halfway out the door when she heard the comment and retorted, "Nah, she'd probably kill me now that she doesn't have a tumor." Arizona snorted and rubbed at her forehead.

When Arizona looked up, she saw her wife and friend both looking at her in concern and huffed, "I'm fine! She's irritating!" Both women looked at her sheepishly and Callie started to say something when Arizona cut her off and asked Addison, "Have you had a chance to talk to Jake about what we talked about?" Addie finished chewing, took a drink of her coffee, sat back and replied, "I guess we haven't had much of a chance to have a real conversation have we?" Both women shook their heads and Addie smiled then revealed, "He loves the idea. He doesn't want to work though, well not really, he just got a research grant and can do it from anywhere and said as long as you have some space for him at one of the centers, he's in." Callie and Arizona squealed and both got up to hug their friend who was also clearly excited. When they settled down, Addison explained, "He's been experiencing a little burnout and was just going to take a hiatus when he came across something that really interested him, submitted the idea to HHS and got funding to research it. When I told him about you being pregnant and asking me to fill in for you here and that I wanted to be able to help the two of you out before and after the babies come, he was actually excited about the idea. He grew up in Boston, went to Hopkins, and we were both kind of missing the area. It will give us a good break from everything back home and a chance to show Henry where we both spent our childhoods."

Callie was giddy with excitement and asked, "So when can we expect you?" Addie looked at her calendar and answered, "I have appointments up until the week before Thanksgiving, so that weekend before?" Arizona clapped her hands and exclaimed, "Yay! We get to have a big Thanksgiving. Oh Callie, we should invite both of our families, Nicole and Lorraine, and the girls and Dee and…" Callie and Addison stared at the excited blonde and Callie asked, "Honey you do realize you are going to be 20 weeks pregnant with triplets right?" Arizona nodded, bit into a chip and quipped, "I didn't say I would cook." Callie laughed, kissed her wife on the nose, and replied, "Let's see how you feel." Arizona pouted, "I'll feel 20 weeks pregnant with triplets and like a prisoner in my own home." Addison shook her head at her friend, rubbed her hands together and proclaimed, "Oh this is going to be fun!" Callie smiled and asked, "He's okay with the pool house?" Addie nodded and replied, "He said as long as you don't mind, it's perfect, he insists on paying you something of course, as would I, but this way we all have our privacy, the kids can play together, he can help build furniture and get the nursery ready, and Arizona will have three surgeons around the clock." The blonde let out a far less exuberant, "Yay," making both of her companions laugh.

Callie's phone chimed and she pouted, "I have to go get ready for my next appointment." She bent down to kiss Arizona then started collecting the trash, looked to Addie and asked, "How much longer are you in town?" The redhead stood up to help her and answered, "I am going to head back tomorrow since we finished the surgery early. I guess I need to start getting things in order at home." Callie pouted, "I'm sorry we didn't get to spend much time with you this week." Arizona spoke up, "Why don't you two go out for dinner and drinks tonight and I'll pick Sof up from dance and we can have our own girls' night. We haven't spent any time together since we told her about the babies and I don't want her to start feeling left out or anything." Callie looked at Addie who nodded and shrugged, "I'm game if you really don't mind." Arizona smirked and replied, "I don't mind as long as you two don't go through two bottles of wine and come crashing through the door." She stood up, kissed her wife, took the garbage from her and finished, "But if you do, call for a ride please." Callie kissed her back and promised, "We will be good."

Callie and Addison were seated at their table at an upscale Italian restaurant waiting for their drinks when Addie smiled and admitted, "I'm really looking forward to this. Even if it is short term, I've really missed you." Callie returned the smile and agreed, "I've missed you too. I'm happy Jake agreed. Are you sure we won't be putting you out?" Addison shook her head and replied, "My biggest concern is Henry's schooling, but he's bright and will catch on quickly and he already has three friends even if they are yucky girls." Callie laughed, waited for the waitress to put their drinks in front of them and they both gave their orders, then she picked up her glass and declared, "This deserves a toast." Addison raised her glass and teased, "To getting the band back together…plus all the new members." Callie chuckled and clinked her glass with her friend's.

After a few sips, the brunette started laughing and asked, "Do you remember the last time I talked to you before Arizona moved out here?" Addison thought for a minute and broke into peals of laughter then replied, "Oh my God, I wanted to kill you. It was Valentine's Day and you went back and forth for an hour over whether or not you should call Arizona and try to reconcile with her then spent another hour talking about how much you loved and missed her. I swear I was about to buy you a damn plane ticket or put her on a three way call just so Jake and I could be alone." Callie blushed and muttered, "Sorry about that." Addison took her friend's left hand and replied, "Well it all worked out in the end didn't it?" The ortho surgeon looked down at her own hand, saw the rings sparkling in the dim light of the restaurant and reflected, "I can't believe how quickly things changed. Now here we are married and expecting triplets fathered by none other than Mark Sloan." Addison laughed again, took a drink of her wine and proclaimed, "The rest wasn't a surprise, but that one threw me."

The two continued to talk until their meal arrived and while they ate, Addison admitted, "You should have seen my face when you called me right after I made arrangements with Arizona to come visit the center. When you invited me to stay with you and kept saying 'we' and 'us', I was thinking, 'fuck this is my life now, caught between the two ex-wives'." Callie laughed and replied, I was so confused, wondering why you were acting so strange. Addison took a sip of her wine and declared, "For two years all I heard was "Arizona this, Arizona that, then all the sudden you have a girlfriend and it's we this and we that. My brain didn't make the connection that you're chickenshit ass would jump her bones the week she got there!" Callie laughed and muttered, "It was the second week." Addison laughed and waved her hand in front of her, saying, "Whatever, you were freaking out with her on the other side of the country, I thought for certain you'd run and hide when she got here." Callie lifted her hand in the air, admired her rings again and replied, "Fortunately, she felt the same way."

"Well, you certainly didn't waste any time did you?" Callie looked up when she heard the bitter voice coming from beside her and looked up into angry green eyes. She was slightly startled at both the tone and the anger, given she thought they'd worked this out. Looking over at her friend's confused face, Callie answered the unasked question when she greeted, "Hello Penny." Addison wiped her face with a napkin, sat back and studied the woman she had only heard about but never met. By just one glance she could see that Callie was grasping at straws with this one and wondered what took her friend so long to figure it out.

Callie sat at the table, unsure exactly what to do. She couldn't help but notice that her ex-girlfriend kept her gaze on her rings very much like she did on the objects that were lying on the ground when they literally ran into one another right after Arizona arrived. She had to push that memory out of her mind for now or she would start laughing and didn't think that would be a good idea given the look on the other woman's face. Putting her hand in her lap, she calmly stated, "We spoke about this and you seemed to be okay with it. You even wished us well when you ran into us a couple of months ago." Penny's nostrils flared and she hissed, "How did you give me any other choice but to be okay with it? You invited me to a therapy session and told me you were still in love with your ex-wife. Oh, and what was I supposed to do when I saw you together for the first time after that? We were standing on the sidewalk outside of a sex shop with dildos all over the ground?" Addison spit out her wine and interrupted, "Excuse me?" Callie glared at her friend then turned back to her ex and asked quietly, "So instead you choose to blindside me in a fancy restaurant?" Penny looked around and realized she was making a spectacle of herself and even the people she was with were staring at her.

She had no idea what had gotten into her, she thought she was truly over Callie but when she looked up and saw her with this other woman, she truly thought she might have another chance. She knew things wouldn't work out with Arizona. She excused herself from her table and came over to say hello, then saw the wedding rings and something inside her just snapped. Shaking her head she opened her mouth to say something when Callie spoke softly, "Look Penny, I know I handled things wrong and I apologized for that. I am not sure what else I am supposed to say. When you told me you knew I was still in love with Arizona and wished me the best, I believed you. But even without your blessing, it just…it wouldn't have worked between us, it wasn't working between us. Yes, to some we moved fast. To others, there's ten years' worth of history there and once we worked out our biggest problems without all of the anger and pain, we discovered what we both already knew deep down and that was the fact that our love never died. I'm sorry you found out this way and it upset you. But please, let me enjoy my dinner with my friend and go back to your friends." The younger woman looked at her ex-girlfriend and realized she was barely recognizable to her now, both inside and out. Without saying a word, she turned and walked toward the restroom trying to fight back the tears she knew were going to fall.

When she left, Callie picked up her fork and continued eating as if nothing happened then stopped mid-chew when she heard the incredulous, "Seriously? You're not going to say a word about what just happened?" Addison couldn't believe Callie was being so calm about all of this. She was even more surprised when she looked up, dropped her fork and whipped out her phone and replied, "Oh, yeah, crap, hold on." The redhead looked on as her friend frantically typed out a long message on her phone, no doubt to her wife, then sat it right next to her and watched it nervously. Finally looking up, Callie let out a sigh and explained, "I really don't know what else to say Ads. I mean I told you the whole story." Her friend smirked and quipped, "It seems you left out one little part." Callie tilted her head in question and Addie commented, "When she ran into you and Arizona."

Callie chuckled, looked around the restaurant and saw that Penny and her friends were walking out the door then leaned in and spoke quietly as she said, "Okay, so you remember when Arizona told you we had a drawer full of…um…you know." Addison made a face and replied, "Hard to forget." Callie nodded and continued, "Well, we had to replenish our stock you know. So we were on a day date and came across this shop and decided to do just that." Addison held up her hand and asked, "Wait…you have more than one?" Callie nodded and answered, "What about a whole drawer full did you not understand? It's not just those though, we have nipple clamps, vibrators, flavored…" "Okay…TMI, back to the story," Addison interjected as she tried to get those images out of her mind. Callie nodded, took a bite of her food, thought about that day and went on, "So we are walking out of the store and I'm teasing Arizona about the chocolate boobies and vagina sucker she bought and she turned around to say something to me and nearly runs right into someone. so I grab her but my bag catches on the door and rips and the Lesbian Kama Sutra, a double headed dildo, and a remote vibrator…" "Wait, that's really a thing?" Addison asked. "Callie furrowed her brow and asked, "Which one?" Addison thought for a minute and answered, "Uh…all of it." Callie got a lascivious grin on her face and answered, "Ohhhh yeah, In fact, in Mexico..." Addison shook her head and declared, "I don't need details, just keep going."

Callie took a sip of her wine, noticed Arizona texted her back, tensed up while she picked up her phone to read the message then smiled when she saw the response, looked at her friend and breathed a sigh of relief. She then finished, "So we hear this familiar voice start to apologize and our heads snap up and we see it's Penny and look down and finally realize all this sex shit is all over the ground. We're all just staring at it when the store lady comes out with another bag, then says, 'Oh dear, you've broken your vagina'…" At that point both women are laughing so loud they are drawing attention to themselves and Callie fights through her laughter and adds, "So that gets me and Arizona going and we clean up our stuff then Penny says we look happy and she's happy for us and walks away, then she does this tonight." Addison had tears in her eyes by the time Callie was done, poured herself another glass of wine and said, "God, I forgot how fun your life was." The brunette laughed and answered, "That was Arizona's only response…I'm sure Addie got a good laugh." Addison nodded and replied, "Oh, I really did, but I've got to hand it to you, the Cal I used to know wouldn't have handled that as well as you did." Callie sighed and answered, "The Cal you used to know made a lot of mistakes Ads."

Sofia was almost finished with her cool down stretches when she looked into the big glass mirrors and saw her mommy walk through the door. Her mama was supposed to pick her up today, but when she got to dance class, her teacher told her that mommy was coming instead. She stretched to touch her toes with one hand while waving at her mommy in the mirror with the other. She giggled when her mommy waved back and her jacket opened a little and she could see the bump in her belly. She didn't even realize she stopped doing her stretches altogether when she got so distracted by watching her mommy and Jordyn. They must not have told a lot of people yet because Jordyn looked surprised when she saw the bump and they hugged each other and mommy looked so happy. At first she was worried when she found out there were going to be three babies, she didn't say anything to anyone about it, but she was afraid there wouldn't be enough love for everyone. That didn't last long though because her mommies still gave her the same attention they always did and while she knew that would change with three crying babies, she also knew that would mean she would get extra 'sponsibilities. She also felt better because that look she was seeing right now, when her mommy was watching her, it never went away. Both mommies still looked at her like she was the most important person in the whole world.

When the teacher said class was over, Arizona said goodbye to Jordyn and waited for Sofia to gather her things. She smiled at her daughter and held out her arms for a hug, her heart nearly melted when small arms wrapped around her waist and she heard a whispered, "Hi babies," before big brown eyes looked up at her and chirped "Hi mommy! How was your day?" Arizona hugged her tightly, ran her hands through her hair and replied, "My day was very long but it is sooooo much better now that I got to see you." Sofia smiled; it was those things that made her know it would be okay to share her mommies. She took the offered hand and asked, "Where's mama? Did she have a surgery?" Arizona shook her head and answered, "Nope, I kicked mama and Aunt Addie out and made them go have dinner together so we could have a girls' night. What do you say to some dinner, ice cream and an early movie before bedtime?" Sofia jumped up and down and exclaimed, "Yay! Ooh can we get Chinese? I really want some sweet and sour…Oh, never mind." Arizona furrowed her brow, bent down to see her daughter's disappointed face and asked, "What's wrong big girl?" Sofia bit her bottom lip then answered, "You got sick last time we ate Chinese, was it cuz of the babies? Do they not like Chinese? I want to get something we all like." Arizona couldn't believe her daughter's heart.

Standing up, she pulled Sofia over to the row of chairs so they could sit down and explained, "Sometimes when a woman is pregnant, her belly getting bigger isn't the only thing that changes. All kinds of things are happening inside my body right now. My tastes are changing and I like things I didn't used to, like pickles and peppers and my tummy can't handle some things I love, like coffee and tomatoes. I can still eat a lot of things; I just have to be careful how much of it I eat and what I have. Right now, the babies are only getting the vitamins from what I eat, so they don't really know if they like Chinese, but I still LOVE Chinese, I just have to order something different than what I usually get and right now, I really, really want some egg drop soup and won-ton crackers with some fried rice." Sofia's face perked up and she asked, "Really?" Arizona stood up and replied, "Really. Oh, and I think I also want some ice cream from the shop down the street from the Chinese place." Sofia skipped along beside her mom and asked, "Do you think the babies will like ice cream?" Arizona laughed and answered, "I don't think they will have a choice, "You love ice cream, mama loves ice cream, I love ice cream, and daddy LOVED ice cream. It's in our genes." Sofia giggled at that and said, "We aren't wearing jeans." Arizona hung her head and decided she wasn't going to even try to explain that one without Callie.

As soon as they walked in the door with all of their food and treats, Arizona realized the cravings must have hit. She felt her phone vibrate in her pocket and asked, "Sof, can you let Tobin outside then put the ice cream and other treats away while I get dinner served?" At her daughter's nod, she pulled out her phone and furrowed her brow when she saw Callie's very long and rambling text. She could see by the number of apologies her wife was feeling guilty about a confrontation in a public place she had no control over. She smiled, sent a quick reply and started dishing out dinner.

Me: Honey, relax. I'm not mad, but I bet Addie got a good laugh.

Over dinner Sofia filled her mommy in on her day and Arizona told her all about Erin's triplets and the little girl asked far more questions than the fetal surgeon was prepared to answer. After dinner, Sofia had her ice cream while Arizona decided to wait on hers to let her stomach settle a little longer. Once they were both in their pajamas, had their favorite blankets wrapped around them, and were cuddled on the couch together, they chose a movie and started watching. Not very far into the movie, Sofia scooted down so her face was close to her mommy's stomach. She smoothed out the blanket so she could see her brothers and sisters or whatever they were and watched as her mommy's breathing made them go up and down. Curiously she asked, "Do they get sick in there whenever you move? Is that why you get sick?" Arizona's lip curled up and she replied, "No, they can't really feel me moving right now. They are all about the same size as a raspberry." She laughed at the look on her daughter's face and watched as she continued to stare at her stomach in amazement.

Sofia kept staring and asked, "How fast do they grow?" Arizona brushed her daughter's hair with her hand and replied, "It's hard to explain, pregnancy is broken up into trimesters like school. In the first trimester, the baby is teeny tiny and just starting to form into a human. In the first trimester of third grade, you are still a second grader trying to figure out how third grade works. In the second trimester, the babies are growing into humans, they are getting bigger and growing their arms and legs and muscles and nerves, and in the second trimester of third grade, you will be able to figure things out on your own without your teacher's help and you are developing into a third grader. In the third trimester, the babies are really growing in size, they are gaining weight and getting taller, their lungs are getting stronger and getting ready to work on their own, they are getting ready to bust out of here. In the third trimester of third grade, your brain will be preparing for fourth grade, you will be mastering third grade material, you will be practicing fourth grade skills and you will be ready to bust out of there." Sofia laughed, looked at her mommy's tummy again and said, "So they are in there learning how to be tiny humans right now?" Arizona chuckled and replied, "Something like that."

After a long day and a little too much food, Callie and Addison quietly made their way into the darkened house hoping not to wake anyone. When they got closer to the dining room, they heard the low hum of the television, but what caught their attention was the conversation going on between the two people who could be heard but not seen. Callie looked at Addie and held her finger to her mouth and saw that her friend's eyes were glistening with tears at the parts of the explanation they already heard.

Unaware they had spies, Sofia and Arizona continued their conversation. Sofia asked, "Were you and mama as happy when you found out about me as you are about these babies?" Without giving it a second thought, Arizona recalled, "Oh baby girl, I remember the day like it was yesterday. Your mama was sitting on the exam table and your daddy and I were standing behind her and Dr. Fields had to bring out this super powerful machine because mama was not leaving that office until she knew you were healthy. I remember feeling all sweaty waiting for something then the most beautiful sound I ever heard filled the room." Sofia asked, "What was it?" Arizona answered, "It sounded like, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh and it was your teeny tiny heart in there thumping away and I knew right then that I was going to be a mommy and I was going to love you for ever and ever." Sofia asked, "Did you cry?" Arizona nodded and explained, "I think we all cried." Sofia looked down at her mommy's belly again and observed, "I was early. What timest…trim…when did I come out?" Arizona kissed her daughter's forehead and answered, "You came out during the second trimester." Sofia nodded and recalled, "When a baby is growing all of it's parts. I had all of my parts but my heart and lungs weren't ready right?" Arizona nodded and answered, "That's right big girl."

Arizona saw the question on her daughter's face and supplied before she got the chance, "Aunt Addie delivered you and she will be here for these babies too. I work in a hospital full of doctors whose only job is to deliver babies and keep them alive. Your brothers and sisters and mommy are in very, very good hands big girl and if mommy isn't worried, I don't want you to worry either." Sofia looked at her mommy and asked, "You really aren't worried?" Arizona looked her daughter in the eye and whispered, "I am more worried that your mama is going to drive me crazy before these babies come out." Sofia broke into a fit of giggles and Arizona spoke up, "Mama, put princess to bed and give her goodnight kisses, I'm too comfy." Addison whispered, "Busted," and flipped on the light switch in the kitchen. Sofia popped up off the couch and exclaimed "Mama, Aunt Addie, when did you get here?" Callie caught her daughter in mid-air and replied, "Not too long ago, we didn't want to interrupt." Arizona pursed her lips and replied teasingly, "You were eavesdropping." Callie walked into the living room, kissed her wife, then carried their daughter to her bedroom to tuck her in.

Addison went to sit down next to Arizona and stole half of her blanket, earning herself a glare and blew her friend a kiss. Arizona smirked and asked, "Learn anything new?" Addison nodded her head and replied, "About you, a hell of a lot. Shit, I even learned how to explain trimesters to kids." Arizona chuckled and answered, "What you really need to learn is how to be a better spy. You totally suck at that. Take your heels off before you enter a room. You will never catch your son doing anything he is not supposed to be doing." Addison gasped and asked, "Oh my God, is that why he is so perfect? Like he is never doing anything wrong. Always reading or doing his homework, or something nerdy." Callie laughed as she came down the hallway and replied, "Yeah, they are pretty loud." Arizona snorted, "Said thunder foot herself." Callie raised her brow and asked, "Yeah well you aren't exactly stealthy, what's your excuse?" Arizona tapped her leg and replied, "I'm the tin man. Squeaky parts." Both of the other women laughed and Callie suggested, "Come on tin man, let's get you to bed." Arizona stood up and folded both blankets then remarked, "Only if you promise to tell me about the flying monkey you saw at dinner." Addison laughed harder and went into her room.

After brushing her teeth and washing up, Callie changed into a t-shirt and climbed into bed cuddling up on Arizona's chest. Arizona kissed the top of her head and asked, "Are you really okay?" Callie nodded, "Really I'm fine. I was surprised by how upset she was. I mean, she seemed perfectly fine the last time I talked to her with Dr. G and then when we saw her together. I just, I told her I was sorry she found out that way, she knew how I felt about you and she was interrupting my dinner." Arizona rubbed Callie's back and replied, "Okay, as long as you're good, I'm good." Callie caressed her wife's baby bump and smiled as she recalled the conversation she overheard and asked, "How was your evening with Sof?" Arizona replied, "Other than a quick rundown of her day, almost the entire conversation was about the babies. She's fascinated." Callie asked, "Do you think she's jealous?" Arizona linked fingers with Callie and replied, "I worried about it at first when she said she wanted Chinese, then stopped herself because she remembered I got sick on Chinese and thought we couldn't have it because the babies didn't like it." Callie cooed, "Aww." Arizona nodded and finished, "I explained to her about cravings and how my body is changing what it will tolerate and that right now the babies still don't know what they like but mommy was craving egg drop soup and she seemed to understand and be thrilled about that."

Callie lifted her head, kissed Arizona softly and replied, "You are really good at explaining those things to her." She could feel Arizona shrug and knew she was about to brush it off as being a pediatric surgeon and cut her off saying, "And don't say its because of your experience working with kids. It's because you are a great mom and you know what our child needs to know and hear. Just like when she asked if we were happy when we found out about her. I was nervous just thinking about how I would answer that question and you skipped right over all that bad stuff." Arizona caressed Callie's cheek and replied, "I told her the part she needed to know about, the true part, we were happy when we heard her heartbeat and that was the day we all realized we were going to be parents. That's the day I took ownership of being a mom. All the other stuff, not the time." Callie leaned in for a longer, more sensual kiss, pulled back and admitted, "That was one of the happiest days of my life too. Of course because we heard her heartbeat, but when you stormed the apartment and claimed her, claimed us…first of all, hot as hell, but it meant everything to know that you really were all in." Arizona bent her head forward and declared, "When it comes to you and our children Calliope Robbins-Torres, I am always going to be all in."

A/N: Surprise! I'm turning 50 Thursday and this is my birthday gift to you. I'm sure there are some errors and will fix them after I listen to it (yes, that's my secret).

Still not Shonda, so all credit goes to her.
