Five days have passed since Akira had found out that he had been reincarnated.
But, suprisingly, he continued to do what he had always done in his previous life, which was to follow the daily routine. With the only change being spending most of his free time trying to unlock his chakra, which was a lot (not a whole lot of work to do).
It's not easy as the author described. meditation, in itself is a hard process. All the non-movement and non-thinking bullshit is damn hard to accomplish in reality. And this little body of mine is not doing me any favours either.
Another thing that came into his attention was that, in all of the chaos ensued, he completely forgot that he was 6-year-old kid now.
It's not easy to spot a change when you don't even notice your own body. Which is how we are programmed to be, to not notice our body, that is.
After five days of rigourous practice, he was lot more proficient in staying still and pushing his thoughts into the void.
At 8:00 in the morning, as usual, he sat down comfortably on the dewy green grass in his backyard, and started meditating. Remembering the last few days, undergoing hundreds of medidation session (each one taking not more than five minutes) and studying all the scrolls regarding such topic, he did it. He managed to unlock his chakra network.
Hooo boy.
An unknown weight had fallen off his little shoulder, granting him much need inner peace.
OH YEAH
He felt electrified, and a lot more stronger than before, seeing as he had managed to jump nearly above his house. It was like all the nerves in his body lit up (bzzzt! bzzzt!) and started working together like a V12 engine in a supercar, ready to run down other cars on the block. He couldn't describe the feeling in words, what he was experiencing.
You did it! You crazy son of a bitch, you did it! He was half-delirious for next few minutes.
An hour later, after calming down(not really) he reflected. Considering the biology of a kid, Akira could understand that it was a monumental task, because it was mentioned in the scroll that, it usually took a year for shinobi academy kids (other than clan members, and even they took not less that 3 months) to unlock the chakra. What with all the energy circling around, it was hard centering yourself, moreso for the kids.
All that dogged determination to unlock the chakra was because, he had pledged to himself that unless he was successful in chakra initiation, he would not go out, because even with his rose-tinted vision of the village, he could recognise that this world was supremely hostile towards baseline level humans, peaceful era or not.

Akira walked into the living room, which was now littered with scrolls and papers, and threw himself on delightfully springy sofa. Laying down in an effort to his cooling body.
A thought flashed in his mind, Now that i have unlocked chakra, i should go out and finally see the world, rather than watching through the windows.
At that instant, doorbell rang loudly in the otherwise silent house.
Ah Shit, here we go again.
"Good morning aki-aki!" said a boisterous voice.
Standing at the door was my neighbour and a grinning 8-year old Tenten Higurashi, along with his mother, Tsumugi Higurashi who was smiling apologetically. It seems she knew how troublesome her child was.
"Hope we didn't disturb you Akira-kun" Tsumugi said to me from the side.
She and her daughter had been checking up on me regularly since the day my parents died. Which was nice, in hindsight.
Because living alone, without saying a word to another human being on hours at end had taken a toll on me.
Human beings are not meant to be alone.
"It is not a disturbance at all, Higurashi-san" he felt odd, adressing someone this way, he was not used to it.
"Thank you for checking up on me and bringing all these supplies, It was not necessary" Politely i responded.
"Certainly not, dear boy. You must look after self more" Tsumugi said to me, though a lot more happy.
"HEY YOU! Don't ignore me!" Tenten stomped the ground expressing her dissatisfaction with me, it seems she was not happy at all being ignored, sadly for her, conversing with a child is a pain in the ass, so she was ignored again. Poor girl.
After a thorough admonishing of tenten via tsumugi.
Tsumugi and i had our regular conversation, meaning she subtly inquired about my mental and physical health, though it was obvious to me. And i asked about all the places to visit, academy being the number one.
Nice lady, she is.
15 minutes later, He closed the door after they had gone.
Time to plan my first trip in the ninja world. I can't wait anymore. Next morning I will go to the academy and see how they take admission. This is one schooling i woudn't mind going through.
