The day of the car crash that almost killed Samantha Holland and Randy Orton had started out as normal as any other. There had been breakfast in the morning, lunch out as they shopped and dinner in a restaurant where they talked about the little things that weren't really important. Neither of them could re call the details of the accident, Randy had woken up first when they where still in the car and at first he hadn't been sure if he could move, everything hurt. There where people standing outside the window, trying to talk to him but what they where saying was a mystery. Slowly he sat up and instantly turned to Samantha, he couldn't see her face and she wasn't moving. Her head was right up against the windscreen and her body twisted at an odd angle. The first thing he thought was that she was dead and just as he had un clipped his seat belt the paramedics where there, helping him out of the wreck and trying to get him on a stretcher.

"Ok, can you tell me your name?" one of the men asked.

"Randy, what about Samantha? Is she ok? Is she breathing?"

The paramedic looked back at the car and as Randy tried to sit up he gently pushed him back down.

"It's ok Randy, everything is ok. We're going to take you to the hospital now."

"What about Samantha?"

Once again there was no reply, they pulled a mask over his head and ignored his protests as they loaded him into the ambulance.

Randy instantly began fearing the worst, what if she was dead and they didn't want to tell him? Had he killed the women he loved? He got one last glimpse of the car, the front was completely smashed in and there was a group of men in bright yellow jackets standing around Samantha's side of the car. Why couldn't they just get her out and take her away? Randy's thoughts went no further, his mind went blank and he closed his eyes.

Samantha knew her eyes where open, but she couldn't see anything, not yet. There where voice and somewhere there where sirens. Something bad had happened but she couldn't remember what. She thought of Randy but her throat was too dry for her to call his name.

"Samantha. Can you hear me?"

She couldn't respond but now she could see lights. Hands grabbed her waist.

"Ok, one, two three."

In one fluid motion she was pulled sideways and out of the car and found herself lying on her back with someone shining a light in her eye.

"Ok, we need to get her to the hospital now."

"Randy."

It came out as a whisper, but the paramedic standing over her nodded as they strapped something to her neck.

"He's ok; he's already gone the hospital. Can you remember the accident?"

Vaguely, they'd been talking and Randy had screamed which at first had scared Samantha more then the reason he was screaming. Then they had crashed and she'd been slammed forward into the wind screen. Suddenly her head began to really hurt.

"Samantha, can you hear me?"

Not anymore she couldn't.
