Thanksgiving Surprise-Ch 11
After Henry and Jack were tucked into bed Penelope and the others started working on the wedding preparations, Fran smiled at her future daughter-in-law as she asked, "what kind of wedding do you want honey and where do you want to have it?", Penelope grinned as she told all of the girls about the dream she had a couple of nights before, she described in great detail everything from her dream right down to the smell of the flowers.
Fran put her hand on Penelope's shoulder and said, "well it's the end of November so my flowers will be an issue butttt I can call in a few favors and get you the flowers that you want", Penelope said, "are you sure, it is short notice after all". Fran hugged the younger woman and said, "don't worry about a thing sweetie, we'll take care of everything so that you can marry my son and give me the beautiful grand babies he's been promising me for years".
Penelope blushed and said, "I want that, I want a house filled with Derek's babies", Sarah grinned and said, "looking like him would be okay but please don't let them act like him", Penelope looked at her future sister-in-law as SarahT then preceded to tell Penelope and the others about the time Derek almost burned down their mother's kitchen and by the time she was finished telling the story everybody was crying where they had laughed so hard.
When Derek heard them laughing he leaned in and said, "I bet Sarah is telling the time when I was 4 years old and almost burned down ma's kitchen", Reid said, "you did what?", Derek shook his head and said, "I was only four years old pretty boy". Reid and the others then sat listening as Derek told the exact story to the men that his sister had told his future bride and the others about only a few minutes earlier.
Dave threw his head back and laughed as he said, "I hope that all of your babies take after their momma then", Derek nodded his head in agreement and said, "you'll get no arguments from me on that one man, none at all". By the end of the night everything had been handled and all of the arrangements had been made and now all that was left was to go and pick up everything and make sure to get the backyard decorated.
After they all left the cabin the next morning they headed to the Rossi mansion so that the men could get started with the decorations while Penelope, JJ and Emily went to pick up the dresses, tuxes and flowers and Fran, Sarah and Desi were working on fixing a cake and getting things started for the reception.
Dave and Hotch had been able to call in a few favors even though it was the Thanksgiving holiday and now that the license and minister were taken care of the only thing left was to wait for the women to get back so they could check the list one final time. A few hours later Penelope, JJ and Emily returned home and headed straight upstairs to hang their dresses up to make sure to keep the wrinkles out of them for the next day.
Derek met his future bride at the bottom of the stairs and intertwined fingers with her as they walked through the house, Penelope grinned and said, "it's still hard to believe that we were able to pull this wedding off so fast, especially since it's the Thanksgiving holiday", Derek kissed her gently on the lips and said, "momma let me tell ya something that you need to learn about our family", she looked at him and waited for him to continue.
He brought her hand up to his lips and kissed it and said, "never doubt the determination of the people that are sitting around us", Penelope grinned and said, "truer words have never been spoke my love". They were pulled from their conversations when Fran said, "alright you four need to head out to the pool house for the night", Derek said, "why momma?", Fran looked at her son and said, "we don't want to take any chances now do we, not after everything you've done to be together".
Derek said, "you're right ma, you're right", the men then all gave their wives one final kiss before walking through the house and out the backdoor to head to their residence for the night and with the two younger boys already sleeping Fran and the girls laughed and talked for a little while before turning in for the night themselves because they knew that tomorrow was going to be a busy day and they knew that the bride was definitely going to be busy on her big day.
When Penelope fell asleep a few minutes later she did so with a huge smile on her face, she was smiling because in a few short hours she was finally going to marry the man she had loved since the day she met, her hotstuff, her adonis, her Derek.
