Chapter 15

Harry stared at the three Hallows as they lay on the table. He could feel the Stone and the way it tugged towards Riku, the Cloak doing the same for Sora. Strangely, now that he'd summoned them, the Wand was reacting though far more weakly, so it had chosen as well. He wasn't the Master of Death, but he was the Master of the Hallows, the one tasked to find the ones to wield them…to become one with them. Which…he could admit had freaked him out a bit at first. But the Hallows were made to merge with a mortal host for their full powers to be unlocked.

He knew Sora and Riku would likely agree to it because they trusted him, thanks to the spell on them. And yet, he was hesitating, despite the fact that merging with the stone would save Riku from the presence trying to possess him. But what else would the merging do to them? Would they still be them or would it change who they were? Not even Hades truly knew what would happen since it had never been done. He wasn't the one who had created the Hallows, they actually pre-dated him; the story of the Peverell brothers was a modern retelling of a far more ancient myth. The Hallows were believed to have been created by the original Death, but no one knew why, another reason Harry was hesitating.

In the end though, he'd give Riku the choice if they couldn't find another way to stop whoever or whatever was trying to possess him. He was pretty sure Riku would choose the merger over being possessed by something that from the sound of it hadn't minded hurting his friends at all.

"Oh dear," Minnie murmured in horror as she read the report Jiminy had sent her. She was so glad she had asked him to keep in contact since she knew Donald would forget or avoid it to keep Daisy from getting angry if they were gone for long. And while Goofy was more reliable in giving reports, his weren't always exactly…sensible.

"What is it your Majesty?" Daisy asked in alarm. "Are they alright?"

"Donald and Goofy are fine," she assured her. "It's the boy, the Keyblade bearer, Sora. He's gone missing. They were in Traverse Town, he went for a walk and never returned. Everyone helped search but there's no sign of him and one of the residents reported hearing a fight during the night. Apparently the Wizard Merlin has offered hope in the theory the Keyblade may have transported him to another World to save him but they don't know where or if it's true," Minnie explained in horror. That poor boy, he was so young…

"If only there was some way to contact the King!"

"There might be," Minnie left the library that doubled as Mickey's office. She had an ex-Keyblade Master to contact. If he could not contact her husband, perhaps he could track the boy.

Sora was glad that Riku had been found immediately by Harry and his family. Waking alone and then wandering around Traverse Town till he walked into Cid's shop had been scary and confusing. It would have been even worse for Riku since he'd been coming back to himself from being controlled.

The half day spent in bed sleeping and talking had been wonderful. He felt like he'd barely stopped since beginning to travel with Donald and Goofy and he hadn't realised how worn out he really was. Between that, the night sleeping in Harry's small apartment, and then last night sharing with Riku he finally felt good again. There was no tiredness at all which was wonderful, he had more energy than he'd had since the Islands and was almost bouncing as he followed Riku back to the dining room for breakfast. Riku had gotten him back to the room Harry said was his only to find that someone had stocked the wardrobe with clothing that fit him, which puzzled Sora but Riku said it was probably magic on the sizing. Still, having new clothes was great after being stuck in the one outfit so long.

Riku was looking a lot better now too, though he was staying very close to his side, not that Sora minded at all after being forcibly separated the way they had been. The castle did creep him out, especially the Heartless hanging around, but they didn't bother Riku who had never seen a Heartless attack or someone lose their Heart. Still it was Harry's home and Harry was their friend, Riku had been there for weeks and not been hurt by the Heartless.

Thankfully, the found the room without getting lost, finding Harry and his Mother already inside and seated, talking softly. Harry greeted them with a smile while Maleficent nodded. Sora was content to just listen to everyone talk while he ate and listened. The food here was really good, way better than the stuff stored on the ship that was for sure.

Everyone assumed that because he talked a lot and was loud that he loved crowds and new people but that wasn't…well, he did to an extent but it could also be too much. Sometimes his talking was to cover how nervous and out of place he felt. Riku's glances during the meal proved he still knew that, and Sora smiled at him, it wasn't bad, he was just getting used to the place and changes.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hercules listened as Goofy and Donald explained what had happened to Sora, very worried for the junior hero. He'd done well in the games, but it was also obvious he was new to actual combat. The idea he might have fallen against those strange creatures they called Heartless…

"Well, he hasn't shown up here," he admitted, seeing them wilt. "But he could be in any of the cities or even on Olympus or….the Underworld. I can spread the word for people to keep an eye out for him, if he comes to our World, we'll find him," he promised.

Hermes was always dashing around the World; he'd ask him to keep an eye out as well. Maybe Ares as well, Sora was a budding warrior after all. If they couldn't find him in any World…he may have to ask Hades but bringing his attention to Sora's possible presence in the Underworld would not end well for Sora. Maybe he'd borrow the Olympus stone and sneak around himself if nothing else worked to find him.

Yen Sid was surprised to receive a message from Queen Minnie. Hmmm…Mickey had passed beyond his sight and into the Realm of Darkness, using a Falling World to do so. But finding out the new Keyblade wielder had vanished, most likely in a fight against the Heartless, was not good at all. To Seal the Door needed a Keyblade on each side. He stood and moved to the window, staring out at the stars, sensing the spreading Darkness. Searching for one Light would not be easy but he had to see if he could sense the child or if the worst had happened…

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Riku was nervous, though doing his best to hide it, as they entered the large hall used for training. He wanted Sora to see what he'd learnt but…Sora had been out there, fighting and learning, what if disappointed him? Ugh, Kairi would laugh at him for thinking that, Sora would just give him that sad look, and he knew it but there was a whisper in his head that said he had to be better than Sora. He knew what it was, tried his best to ignore it, but it was hard.

He summoned Soul Eater and saw Sora's eyes widen, he was practically bouncing on his heels in excitement and something in Riku relaxed at that reaction. He watched as Sora summoned his Keyblade like he had back in the bedroom, but then Sora grinned and clipped something onto it, Riku shocked to see the weapon change.

"What?"

"How did you do that?" Harry asked, sounding just as surprised.

"It's a keychain," Sora sounded so excited. He then began explaining how he got it on a World called Deep Jungle.

Riku didn't like the way Sora brushed over some stuff that had to do with the ones he'd been travelling with. At first, he'd felt…jealous over Sora travelling with them but now he wondered just how they'd treated Sora. Had they just been using him for the Keyblade?

Harry summoned his own sword and settled into his stance. "I'm guessing you have the same training as Riku, with the experience you've gained travelling added in?"

"Yeah."

"Then let's see," Harry grinned at Sora who grinned back.

Sora liked Harry, Riku just…he couldn't see it but he did have a girlfriend. But he thought, maybe Harry liked Sora back? He hoped so, Sora and Harry both deserved to be happy, like he was with Kairi. He missed her so much it hurt. But with Sora there, it wasn't as bad, it almost felt like she was there with them. He watched as Harry and Sora fought, amazed by how much Sora had improved.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Maleficent watched the boys training with Harry and was impressed by young Sora's skills, she had only caught snippets of his fights before. He would prove an even better training partner for her son than Riku. She was proud of Harry for both his skills and his ability to help pass those skills on to others. It would take longer for the Keyblade master to allow the Darkness inside but eventually; her son would have the beginnings of a Court. How long had it been since there had been a true Faerie Court of any kind?

Now, to find the last remaining Princesses…Jafar was certain the Princess of his World was one of them which left just one to find and so many Worlds where she could be. Once she had them all, the Worlds would be hers.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The Hallows thrummed in anticipation where they rested, hidden. All three were reunited and their vessels close. Soon, the event they had been created for would come about and they would serve whichever side their Master chose to support.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Merlin glanced at the Fairy Godmother in concern, they could both feel it, something was coming. Ancient magics had been stirred but by whom and for what purpose? Was it Maleficent? They knew she had plans; she had been the one to take over Hollow Bastion after all. Or was it something to do with young Sora? So much was happening and yet they were limited in how much they could interfere.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hades hummed to himself as he searched through the most ancient texts he had, some of them older than he was. He had never made a study of the Hallows, there'd been no point since they were scattered and had nothing to do with Olympus. What had caused them to surface now of all times? It was concerning, especially with the kid involved. And now they were reacting to the Keyblade brat and his friend, what were the odds the third was waiting on their other friend? Finding one person though would not be easy and that was if she'd survived.

Well, at least it gave him something to do while waiting for that blasted prophecy so he could boot Zeus off the throne. King Hades…it had a certain ring to it. He'd even be magnanimous and let Herc live, not like he was going to kill Zeus, he wasn't into fratricide. He'd just give him a taste of his own medicine; see how he liked being exiled in the Underworld.

And he'd even get to keep the kid he saw as more of a nephew than his real ones considering Harry was well on his way to becoming a Faerie and thus immortal. And with him immortal….oh well, couldn't have everything, he'd have to put up with Sora and the others too. Hopefully the kid would mellow out and calm down once merged with his Hallow, or once he began his journey into the Dark. It could actually be fun.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Goofy watched as Donald practically tore the jungle apart, searching. It was obvious that the longer it took to find any sign of Sora, the more guilty and worried Donald was becoming. It wasn't good but he didn't know what else to do. They had no way to contact the King, though Jiminy said he'd sent a message to the Queen about Sora, hopefully she could contact him. But what could the King do that they weren't? Sure, he had a Keyblade but unless it could track another then he was probably better doing what ever he was.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sora opened his eyes, panting, okay…yep, he definitely really liked Harry. He groaned and rubbed sleep filled eyes. After two months at the castle it felt almost like home, just without the nice weather. He'd learnt so much more than he would have with Donald and Goofy, he didn't even really miss them, well, okay he missed Goofy. But he also knew Goofy would want him to learn and be happy. Sometimes…it almost felt like life back on the Islands was a dream and he'd always lived in the castle, he knew Riku felt the same, though they both missed Kairi a lot.

It wasn't all fun though, lessons could be hard, and it wasn't just combat but things like math and the history of the Worlds. Some he found boring but it made Harry happy so he kept at it. He loved it when Harry would smile at him, it made him feel…warm inside. Ugh. Was there any chance Harry could like him back? He was a Prince basically and Sora was…no one really, just an Island kid who lucked into having a Keyblade somehow.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Riku threw the covers off, stumbling into the bathroom only to throw up violently. He was shaking and sweating, hair plastered to his skin, sleep clothes damp. He didn't even jump as a hand pressed to his forehead, closing his eyes in relief as cool magic washed over him. It didn't stop the nausea though but once he was done a cup of cold water was pressed to his lips and he rinsed his mouth before sipping it.

"Take it slow," Harry murmured, even as Riku felt Sora supporting him. "Another nightmare?"

He managed to force a jerky nod, hearing Sora actually swear, Oogie and Ursula were bad influences on his vocabulary!

"Let's get you back to bed," Harry kept his voice quiet, which was good, his head hurt.

They got him up, supported between the two of them, and then they stopped beside the bed while Harry magically changed the sheets, magic freshening Riku up as well. They got him back into bed, Riku already struggling to remain awake. The bed dipped as Sora got in beside him and then Harry did as well, sandwiching him between them, that was new.

"We've got you," Sora promised, an arm around him, and then Harry's hand was on his shoulder, and he closed his eyes.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sora watched as Riku went back to sleep…or passed out. He looked across him to Harry, seeing he was just as worried. "It's getting worse."

"It keeps finding ways passed the protections, Mother is not happy."

So whatever it was, it was suicidal cause no one smart wanted Maleficent mad at them, no way. "There has to be something we can do," he begged and he didn't care because if it kept up…he'd lose Riku, his best friend. He'd either get too weak or it'd take control of him for good.

"Hades isn't back yet; he was looking into something for me."

"It's been moths," was that good or bad?

"We won't let it take him," Harry stated firmly, and Sora nodded.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Jafar has taken the palace but lost the Princess. This would be a good first mission for Riku, do you believe he's up to it?" she asked her son.

Harry shook his head. "Not alone," it was obvious he didn't like giving that answer. "The nightmares are becoming more frequent and he's getting headaches now too."

"I see…well then, Sora shall accompany him and you will supervise but only step in if necessary."

He nodded. "We won't fail, Mother."

"I know you won't," she smiled at him. The three of them were likely overkill but best not to take any chances with one of them under attack.

She was most displeased the creature continually got through their defences. It almost felt like the old man who had come to her castle so long ago, but not quite. She had sensed it before over the years but it had never approached or anything and so she had let it be, focusing on Harry's training, his time on Earth, and gathering the others for the plan It had been Xehanort who told her of the Seven Princesses and the Keyhole but it was her plan now.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Harry shared a grin with Riku over Sora's head as the younger teen practically bounced once they were firmly on the street, blue eyes wide as he took in the desert city. "Come on, Jafar will meet us inside, hopefully he's found her already." Harry led them into Agrabah.

"Look!" Sora called excitedly, pointing to a stall with brightly coloured cloth.

"Go on," Harry indulged, and Sora rushed off to look. Riku glanced at him and he shrugged. "We don't need all of us to talk to Jafar, besides this is your mission, Sora's just back up and I'm supervising," he smirked.

Riku shook his head but headed for where he could see the tall man, watching a bird fly down to him.

"Jafar! I've looked everywhere for Jasmine. She's disappeared like magic!" A talking bird?!

"The girl is more trouble than she's worth."

Maleficent said you had things under control," Riku spoke up as he walked over.

"Agrabah is full of holes for rats to hide in. But why worry about Princess Jasmine? With her or without her, surely this world will be ours when we find the Keyhole," Jafar sneered.

"We need all seven Princesses of Heart to open the final door. There's no point without all of them," Riku pointed out. He wasn't entirely sure why they needed to open the door but apparently it'd been Maleficent's plan for years. He'd been concerned but even Harry had collected a Princess before, he swore they weren't going to be hurt or anything, and Riku trusted him.

"Well, if the princess is that important, we'll find her." He motioned and Bandit Heartless appeared behind him, brandishing swords. "Find Jasmine and bring her to me at once."

The Heartless scattered, following the bird to search the city.

"Don't steep yourself in Darkness too long, the Heartless consume the careless," Harry warned as he joined them, but Jafar laughed proudly.

"Your concern is touching boy, but hardly necessary."

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sora heard a noise and moved into the alley, ignoring the Heartless. It was weird not having to always fight them but these one were working for them.

"Who's there? Hello?" A soft voice called and then a girl moved out from behind some crates. "I'm Jasmine. My father is the sultan of Agrabah. But he has been deposed by Jafar, who now controls the city."

No way…was it really that easy? "Uh, hi! I'm Sora, it's nice to meet you. Why don't you come with me, I'm sure we can help you," he offered. They'd help her keep away from Jafar by taking her back to Maleficent for the door thingy, it was the one Keyhole that was meant to be unlocked, the others he would lock as they found them. He didn't really like Jafar so he didn't blame her for hiding from him, he was creepy.

"Oh, are you sure?"

"Of course," Sora grinned, and she followed him. He saw Riku and Harry and waved at them, watching Riku's eyes go wide in disbelief. "Hey, look who I found!"

"Unbelievable," Riku shook his head.

"But…they're working with Jafar!" Jasmine gasped and then Riku vanished into the shadows, reappearing behind her.

"It's okay," Riku murmured even as the spell hit her and she collapsed in his arms.

"Well…that was quicker than expected," Harry laughed. "Nice work with the teleport and spell."

Oh yeah, they'd aced this mission!

"We should take her home," Harry told them, and Sora sighed. "We can come back and explore after if you want, there's still a Keyhole around here somewhere after all."

"Oh, yeah!"

"And she's heavier than she looks," Riku shifted his grip on her.

"Let's go," Sora grinned. Sooner they left the sooner they could come back, the Keyhole was his thing, he'd lock it up nice and tight to keep the World from being destroyed or anything.
