Volume 5:
Chapter 20: The Temple
After a few minutes, the group made it to the temple.
Standing outside of it, next to his X-Wing, was Luke.
"Uncle Luke", Ani said.
Luke smiled when he saw his family.
"Master Skywalker", Rey said.
Luke said, "hello Rey…. I sense you know the truth now?"
Rey asked in shock, "the truth? Wait, you knew?"
Luke said, "Revan told me during my exile. But he said not to reveal it too soon…. Now I know how Obi Wan, Sam and Yoda felt, keeping the knowledge about my father away."
Rey asked, "then…. Why hasn't…. He tried to speak with me?"
Luke said, "he only told me he's waiting for the right moment…."
Ani went over to give Rey a hug.
The two held one another for a few moments.
"Hello there, you said you have spoken to Master Revan", One-One said.
Luke said, "er, yes?"
"A pleasure to meet a friend of my master", One-One said joyfully.
Ani chuckled and patted the droid's head.
Luke said, "so, the Wayfinder is in the temple?"
"Yes, according to the blade, it's somewhere here", Rey said.
Luke said, "good. Now, we need to go in there and get the…."
And then, all the Jedi there sensed it…. A very familiar presence….
Finn asked, "do you all sense that?"
The others nodded as everyone slowly turned to a large hill.
A lone figure stood at the top!
Collin growled, "Kylo Ren…."
Terrance growled at the sight of Kylo Ren.
Slowly, a large squad of Scouts and Phasma appeared alongside Kylo.
Ani said, "Uncle Luke, go and get the Wayfinder. We'll hold him off…."
"May the force be with you….", Luke said as he ran into the temple.
The Scouts began to surround the group.
The group took out their lightsabers.
One-One asked, "who are they?"
HK-50 said, "angered statement: First Order Meatbags."
"Oh my", One-One said.
"They look stupid", one-one said.
Kylo stepped forward and said, "Phasma, take care of them. I'm going in after Skywalker and the Wayfinder."
"With pleasure, Lord Ren", Phasma said.
Kylo then ran inside the temple.
Finn took a step forward, glaring at Phasma.
Phasma said, "you're outnumbered, FN-2187."
Finn said, "no. You're wrong. We're on the same side."
Phasma asked, "excuse me?"
Finn gestures to all of the Scouts surrounding him.
"You. You. All of you! They stole you from your homes. From your families. Friends you never knew. Lives you'll never live. They took away your name, gave you a number! They put a gun in your hand and forced you to fight THEIR war! THEIR enemies! I know... Because they did the same thing to me. We are the same. And if there's one thing I know for sure in this galaxy... It's that you deserve more. You deserve a choice. Phasma... The First Order? They think they can control you. You're nothing but a warm body for them to do their dirty work. Until you're dead and replaced. I'm not telling you to join anything. Or serve anyone. All I want for you…. Is to have a choice…. A choice to be yourself. A choice to find love. A choice to start a family. A choice…. That is up to you…."
Phasma asked, "are you finished? Scouts. Fire!"
No-one moves a muscle.
Phasma yelled, "didn't you all hear me? I said fire!"
One Scout steps forward and removes her helmet.
It's Jaina, who has a scar over her cheek. She slowly walks to Finn's side.
And then another Scout does.
And another.
And another.
Until every Scout is by Finn's side.
Jaina growled, "I'm glad I sent that message to Boolio…."
Everyone went wide-eyed. She was the spy?!
Phasma growled, "I should have known YOU'D be a traitor too…. You're all scum!"
Finn pulled out his lightsaber, ignited it and growled, "rebel scum."
Phasma pulls out her weapon and runs at Finn!
Finn and Phasma begin trading blow after blow with their weapons, but now Finn has enough experience to go toe to toe with Phasma! He kept going back and forth between using his saber to deflect her weapon, and shooting at her with his blaster.
Slowly but surely, Finn gained the upper hand! Until he managed to knock Phasma's weapon out of her hand…. And stabbed her in the stomach.
As she slowly slid to the ground, Finn growled, "and by the way... My name... Is Finn."
Phasma glared at Finn as her life slowly faded away.
Phasma fell to the ground, dead.
HK-50 said, "joyful statement: hail to Finn, the wicked witch is dead!"
Finn smiled.
He then turned to Ani and Rey and said, "go in there and help Luke."
Ani and Rey nod their heads as they run inside the temple.
Rumbling is then heard as a Star Destroyer and New Republic cruiser appear above them!
One-One asked, "oh my, is help finally here!?"
Collin said, "it appears so…."
….
Meanwhile, in the temple….
Luke was standing in the center of a large room, looking upon a small floating object.
"That must be the wayfinder", Luke said.
Luke reached his hand towards it.
Luke was able to grab it.
He looked it over in his hands before he picked up the sound of footsteps slowly approaching.
Luke knew who it was as he could sense it.
He whispered, "Ben…."
"That's not my name", Kylo growled.
Luke turned towards Kylo and said, "it's the name your mother gave you…."
Kylo Ren growled in anger.
He growled, "give me…. The…. Wayfinder…."
"Never", Luke said.
Kylo growled as he threw his hand forward.
The Wayfinder flew out of Luke's hand, but Luke threw his hand forward.
The Wayfinder shook in the air between them.
Luke and Kylo Ren's struggle over the Wayfinder was strong…. It caused it to twist and turn, as if opening a holocron!
Luke saw the wayfinder was opening and projecting something….
Then Ani and Rey arrived.
They all looked up at what was being projected.
A map leading to a certain planet….
"Lothal", Kylo whispered.
"Lothal. I've heard of that planet before", Ani whispered.
Luke whispered, "Ezra's home planet…."
The Wayfinder then begins to close.
Kylo kept trying to pull it close.
But Luke was not gonna give up. He kept pulling it back towards him.
"We have to help him", Rey said.
Ani nodded as they both brought their hands forward.
The Wayfinder was now moving towards Luke.
Kylo yelled, "no!"
The Wayfinder was now almost in Luke's hand.
Kylo yelled, "NOOO!"
Then suddenly the wayfinder explodes! This sends everyone flying!
Luke, Rey and Ani get knocked out by the blast.
Kylo managed to stay conscious.
Kylo stood up and saw Luke, Rey and Ani knocked out.
He turned towards Luke and walked towards him.
"Lord Ren", a few scouts arrived inside the temple.
Kylo said, "grab Luke Skywalker and bring him to my shuttle. Leave the other two…."
The scouts nod their heads as they run over to Luke.
They pick him up and drag him away.
Kylo stared at Rey and Ani, before he walked away….
….
Outside of the temple, a battle between both sides was taking place!
A few clone troopers and Jedi had arrived to help the group.
Kylo and his troops were slowly retreating to their ships.
Finn then turned to see…. The scouts were carrying Luke Skywalker!
He yelled, "no!"
Finn ran as fast as he could to the ship!
But it was too late, as Kylo and Luke made it onto the shuttle!
The shuttle then took off.
Finn growled out, "damnit!"
Finn then looked inside the temple and said, "Rey, Ani."
Finn then ran inside the temple.
….
Back inside….
We see Rey…. Standing in a dark room?
Rey asked, "where am I?"
Light slowly began to illuminate her surroundings.
Rey looked around in fear. She barely took a step forward before a lightsaber ignited in front of her!
Rey gasped in shock at what she saw in front of her.
It was…. Her?!
But she was dressed in all black.
She had a double bladed red lightsaber.
Rey stepped away from her…. Dark self.
Her dark self said, "don't be afraid of who you are…."
Her dark self then lunged at Rey….
Rey woke up with a scream.
Rey then looked around.
She was still in the temple.
She looked over and saw Ani.
He was leaning against the wall, groaning.
Rey was still shaking in fear. She was terrified of her dream.
Was she destined to become…. A Sith!? To hurt the people she loved?!
"No! I wont let it happen", Rey shouted in fear.
She ran out of there!
Ani soon woke up.
He groaned, "Rey?"
Ani didn't see Rey or his uncle Luke anywhere.
He slowly got to his feet.
"Ani!"
Ani turned around to see Finn.
Ani asked, "where's Rey? Where's my uncle?"
"Luke got taken by Kylo Ren", Finn said.
Ani yelled, "kriff!"
Finn asked, "but where's Rey?"
Lola then flew inside and beeped frantically.
Ani yelled, "she did what?!"
Lola beeped as she nods her head.
Finn asked, "what'd she do?"
"She took Uncle Luke's X-Wing", Ani said
Finn said, "oh no…."
Ani asked, "what do we do now?"
Finn said, "we need to get back to the Resistance. Did you see where the map lead?"
"Yes, to the planet of Lothal", Ani said.
Finn said, "then that's where the New Republic has to head to in order to stop Belos."
"Lets go then", Ani said.
Finn nodded.
The two then left the temple.
Luckily, the Falcon was there, fully repaired.
Everyone then got inside the Falcon.
The Falcon then took off into space along with the New Republic Cruiser.
They had to act quickly now….
….
We then see Rey.
Where had she gone?
The place she had once called home.
Jakku.
She was leaning against her old AT-AT home, the X-Wing parked nearby.
Tears fell down her face.
As she sniffled, she failed to notice something crawling out of her bag until she heard, "hello!"
Rey looked down and saw One-One.
She asked, "what're you doing here?"
One-One said, "I'm your friend. Friends shouldn't be alone."
"Unless they're in the bathroom", one-one said.
Rey chuckled a little at what One-One said.
one-one, "why did you run away?"
Rey then felt more tears fall down her face.
One-One tried to comfort her by patting her leg.
"I saw a vision of myself…. As a Sith", Rey sobbed.
One-One asked, "is that why you ran away?"
Rey nods her head as she keeps crying.
"Master Revan felt the same way you did. He had gained amnesia of his time as a Sith when becoming a Jedi once more. He had been horrified by his past as a Sith and didn't want to repeat it….", one-one said.
"That is quite a story…. But I don't know what I'm gonna do now", Rey said.
"Might I recommend going back to your friends?"
Rey then looked up and gasped as she saw the force ghost of Revan!
Revan smiled under his mask and said, "hello, Rey."
Rey stuttered, "R-R-Revan?"
Revan said, "or grandpa, if you prefer?"
"Okay…. Grandpa", Rey said.
Revan smiled as Rey got to her feet.
"Master Revan", One-One said.
Revan said, "hello old friend."
"This is amazing", One-One said.
Revan chuckled.
He then turned to look at Rey.
He said, "Rey…. It's great to finally meet you."
"Likewise…. Ani and his family have spoken so highly about you", Rey said.
Revan said, "the same thing applies to you."
Rey smiled, but then it went away.
Revan said, "I know what troubles you…."
"The vision I saw…. I won't let that happen. I'm never leaving Jakku again", Rey said.
Revan said, "I highly advise against it."
Rey asked with tears in her eyes, "but what if that vision comes true?"
After a few moments, Revan said, "Bastilla…. She nearly became a Sith…. But my love for her, and my friends pulled her back from that path."
Rey asked, "really?"
Revan then began to wipe Rey's tears.
He said, "never be afraid of who you are."
Rey then hugged Revan.
Revan smiled as he hugged back.
Revan rubbed Rey's back.
All of Rey's problems seemed to vanish for a moment.
"Its okay Rey…. Just remember, you're never alone…. You have your family and friends", Revan said.
Rey sniffled lightly.
"There, there", Revan said softly.
"Thank you…. Grandpa", Rey sniffled.
Revan smiled again.
"Oh this is making me cry", One-One cried.
"Boo hoo", one-one said.
Revan and Rey chuckled.
Revan then said, "now…. What are you prepared to do, Rey?"
"I'm gonna go help my friends and stop Kylo Ren", Rey said.
Revan smiled and said, "spoken like a true Jedi…."
Rey smiled. She then made her way to the X-Wing.
One-One raced after her and yelled, "wait for me!"
"Some things never change", Revan chuckled.
Rey and One-One flew off in the X-Wing.
Revan then faded away….
….
Meanwhile….
The Falcon had just returned to base.
Ani and the others exit the ship.
Finn began leading the former Scouts away.
"We got new allies", Poe said.
Ani was then hugged by his fathers.
They had been so worried about him.
"Kylo Ren has uncle Luke", Ani said.
That sent a shiver down their spines.
"Don't worry, we'll save him", Sam said.
Breha then ran over and said, "everyone, you're gonna wanna hear this!"
Prime asked, "what is it?"
Breha said, "it's the voice…. Of Belos…."
"Oh no, that can't be good", Alastor said.
Angela whimpered in fear.
Sam said, "he must be trying to gloat about his victory. Ani, did you see where the map leads?"
"Yes…. To the planet of Lothal", Ani said.
Alastor said, "then we need to move quickly if we are to stop Belos from getting into the World Between Worlds."
"I'll join you as soon as I find Rey", Ani said.
Sam asked, "where is she?"
"I don't know…. Lola told me she took off in Uncle Luke's X-wing", Ani said.
Prime said, "that means she could be anywhere."
"But I have to find her", Ani said.
"You'll find her on Lothal."
Ani and his family turned to see Revan there.
Revan said, "hello everyone."
"Uncle Revan", Ani said.
Revan smiled at Ani.
"I spoke with Rey after she fled to Jakku", Revan said.
Sam said, "well it's about time."
Ani asked, "why did she go there?"
"She had a vision of herself as a Sith", Revan explained.
The others were all shocked by this.
"But I talked with her and I was able to help Rey get her confidence back", Revan said.
Ani said, "thank you so much, Revan."
"Anything for my family", Revan said as he smiled.
Sam said, "well, I suggest we all get ready to head to Lothal. We'll need every New Republic and Resistance troop to face this Final Order…."
Ani asked, "who will look after Angela?"
Prime said, "a few rebels and Jedi will stay behind here to watch her."
"Daddies…. Ani…. Please be careful", Angela whimpered.
Sam said, "we will, sweety. We promise."
Sam and his husbands kissed Angela's forehead.
Angela gave a small smile.
Ani then gave his little sister a hug.
Ani whispered, "I love you, sis."
"I love you too, big brother", Angela said.
Soon, the hug ended.
"Come on, we better get prepared for the battle of Lothal", Ani said to his family.
They all nodded.
Lola landed on Ani's shoulder and beeped in agreement.
….
Meanwhile, C3-P0 was walking around the base in confusion as people were getting ready to head out.
R2 then rolls up to C3-P0.
C3-P0 asked, "oh, hello. I am C3-P0, human-cyborg relations. And you are?"
R2 chirps as he looks taken aback!
C3-P0 asked, "what?"
R2 chirps that he and C3-P0 are best friends!
C3-P0 said, "well, I am quite certain I would remember if I had a best friend."
R2-D2 chirps a reply.
C3-P0 asked, "you want to put what in my head? Under no circumstances…."
A second later we see R2 loading C3-P0's memory back into his head.
C3-P0 says in a robotic voice, "memory restoration complete", and then in his normal voice, "Artoo have you heard? I am going with Mistress Rey on her very first mission!"
R2-D2 chirps a reply.
C3-P0 asked, "I already have?"
R2 D2 lets out a few beeping sounds.
C3-P0 exclaimed, "Master Luke has been captured? Oh my!"
R2-D2 beeps in worry as he nods his head.
C3-P0 said, "let us hope the Resistance is not too late to save the day…."
We see everyone is packing everything needed for the final battle.
Poe and Padme were getting into their X-Wing's with R2 and BB-4.
"I gotta admit…. I am a little scared", Padme said.
BB-4 beeped nervously.
Poe then held Padme's hand in his.
"We're going to win this battle…. I'm sure of it", Poe said.
Padme smiled at Poe.
BB-8 beeped at BB-4 to calm her down
This managed to work.
We then see Ahsoka and her husband Hunter preparing their ship for the battle.
Ahsoka said, "just like old times, hmm?"
"It sure feels like it", Hunter said.
Jesse approached his parents.
Jesse asked, "is everything ready, mom, dad?"
"Yes", Hunter said.
Jesse said, "this'll be one Hell of a mission."
"I can already feel it", Ahsoka said.
Hunter nodded in agreement.
"We also need to be careful…. Belos always has a sneaky trick up his sleeve", Jesse said.
Hunter said, "as long as we all stand together, we'll be okay."
Jesse hugged his parents. They hugged him back.
We then see the rest of the Jedi heading towards their ships.
Plo Koon looked weak as he walked.
Raine noticed this and walked over to Plo Koon.
He said, "Master, are you sure you should be going on this mission?"
"I'm sure…. I have to help the Republic and the Resistance stop the First Order", Plo Koon said.
Raine gave an unsure look.
'I better stay close to Master Plo Koon just incase', Raine thought.
Most of the Resistance were on their ships.
Ani was on the Falcon.
Lola was on his shoulder.
He said, "we forgetting anything?"
"How about us?"
Ani turned in shock to see Lando and Lilith enter the cockpit!
"Uncle Lando, Aunt Lilith", Ani said.
Lando said, "you didn't think we'd miss this, did ya, kid?"
Ani smiled as he went over to hug his uncle and aunt.
They hugged one another close.
Eda said, "Lily!"
Eda ran over and hugged her sister.
Lilith smiled as she hugged Eda.
The others smiled as they saw this.
"Hey Lando", King said.
Lando said, "hey King."
Chewie then let out a few growls from the pilot seat.
"Chewie is asking if we are all ready", Ani said
The others all nodded.
"We're ready Chewie", Ani said.
Chewie nodded as he and Ani started the Falcon up.
The Falcon then took off into the sky.
As did many other ships.
Angela and Breha watched the ships take off into the air.
Breha whispered, "God speed, everyone…."
Angela waved her hands at the ships.
And thus, the New Republic was in the endgame now….
