Chapter 5
After leaving the Pokemon to do their own thing, Ash decides to head upstairs to his house to take a shower, while I decide to help Ash out by watering the flowers with Snowy, Pikachu, and Sylveon by my side.
As I was watering the flowers, I notice a red car arriving in front of the house, I think I recognize the person in the car, he is Professor Oak's grandson Gary Oak, but he doesn't seem to recognize me...
"Hello, Miss." Gary walks out of the car and shakes his hand with me. "My name is Gary Oak, how do you feel like going out with me?"
Wait, hold on, is this guy seriously flirting with me? I glance at the house and say, "Sorry, but I'm already taken. I'm not going to betray him for someone who I barely know."
Gary winces a little as he isn't expecting a refusal, but then he says, "I see... so what are you doing here? Are you another fan of Ashy Boy's?"
Ashy Boy? Is that what Gary used to call him? But thank goodness that Ash comes out of his house and says, "Well if it isn't Gary Oak?"
The two of them share a bro hug and Gary says, "I see that you're feeling a lot better than before. Nice to see you smiling again."
"Thanks Gary. How's the Project Mew doing?" Ash asks.
"We're taking a break. I was also thinking about bringing Goh here, but he decided to stay at the Cerise Lab." Gary says.
"I see...Well, after this, make sure to say hi to him for me." Ash seems to be slightly disappointed, but then he notices me and walks towards me. "By the way, Gary. I should introduce you to someone special to me."
I yelp as he suddenly puts his hands around my waist and gives a quick peck on my cheeks, all the action causes Gary to widen his eyes and his mouth open wide. Ash says, "This is Lillie Aether, and she is my girlfriend."
"Your... girlfriend?" Gary can only mutter in shock. "Dude... I never thought to see the day that you're having a girlfriend... but congratulations, you finally find something that is not Pokemon. And Lillie, right? If he doesn't treat you right, let me know and I'll set him straight."
"You don't need to do it... I'm sure that my Brother Gladion would definitely do that for me instead." I reply.
Ash says, "I may be able to beat him in a battle, although it was always not pleasant to fight with him. But really, Gary? You didn't think that I would get a girlfriend?"
"Dude, you have been traveling with all kinds of girls, and you didn't even try to date either one of them. I never thought you would get a girlfriend and die as a single." Gary says.
"But I did travel with Lillie, not one but two as well." Ash retorts, "I was never interested in those girls because my heart was already for Lillie since the Summer Camp when we attended when we were seven."
Gary widens his eyes and looks at me, he says, "Wait, I think I remember... you were the straw hat girl that Ash found in the forest. Both of you and another boy, who I assume is your brother, are quite inseperable back then..."
"I see that you remember me after all." I smile at him. "And I did travel with Ash through two regions, Kalos and Alola. I was bedridden for a month and the first thing I did was come to find Ash, and that's when we confessed to each other."
Gary stares at Ash and me before saying, "I think the two of you should get married, both of you are destined to be together."
"Thanks, Gary." Ash says to him. "So you're going to see your grandfather, right?"
"Yeah, just stop by to say hello. So what are you planning to do today?" Gary asks.
"I'm going to spend some time with Lillie of course." Ash says and I smile at him. "I think I'm going to try traveling again, but not for gyms or Leagues, just having some fun time for me and my girlfriend."
"Of course, since you're a World Monarch, you are basically the strongest trainer in the world. But it is nice to see you traveling again." Gary pats Ash's shoulder.
"Thanks." Ash says as Gary goes back into the car and tries to act cool. "Smell ya later."
After he leaves, Ash says, "Nice car he has, don't you think?"
"Yeah... but don't you have a car?" I ask, and Ash sighs, "Ever since I become the World Monarch, I've received a lot of gifts, I got a car, a ship, and even a small jet for myself."
I widen my eyes in shock, Ash has a car, a ship, and a small jet? Ash notices my widened mouth and says, "Sorry, it is just like... I never want to be like Gary, I was never the one who likes to show off. Maybe I like to do that when I was younger, but now I think doing that is quite stupid."
"It's fine...but did you have any of those licenses?" After all the shock, this is the first question I can think of, and Ash smiles, "Of course I have. And I did take some lessons... mostly tutors instead of going to the class."
"Wow..." I say in awe. "But where did you place those vehicles? I don't think you have shown me that yesterday..."
"I put them further from the Dragon Type Area." Ash replies. "How about we ride to Celadon City? We can do some things there."
"That sounds nice." I reply as we all head to where Ash places the vehicles.
Right now I'm sitting beside Ash while our Pokemon are resting in the back seats. Ash is the one driving as I look out the window. Ash is not a bad driver, and it is just like the times when I go to school.
"So Lillie, how did you feel like being in Kanto?" Ash asks me.
"Kanto is really nice." I say. "It doesn't feel that modern like Kalos or Unova, but it gives me some kind of rural vibes."
"You're right. Although it is also not like Alola, we don't have that much water around the area." Ash says. "Celadon City is probably the wealthiest city in the region because of the Casino and the department store. There is also a perfume store close to the gym."
"Wow... so Celadon Gym sells perfumes just like how the Laverre Gym sells outfits?" I ask.
"You're right about that." Ash says as we finally arrive at Celadon City. I want to check out the perfume store, so Ash accompanies me there as we check out all kinds of perfumes.
"Amazing... everything in the store smells perfect..." I say in awe as I look around the place.
"These perfumes here are made from flowers from Celadon City Gym, they also have classes for Flower arrangements." Ash says to me as he picks the one with the Lavender. "My mom likes Lavender perfumes... it reminds me of my grandmother..."
"Your grandmother... is she...?" I don't know if I should ask since I might offend him.
"Don't worry, she's still alive. She has been busy with her work, but she would seldom visit me if she has the time." Ash says.
As we continue to look around the perfumes, Ash has been telling me every kind of flower smelled, and I heard some staff members talking to themselves.
"Is this really the same person that insulted the perfumes a lot of years ago?" "Maybe becoming the World Monarch changed him, huh..." "Or maybe because of his girlfriend. It is obvious that those two are dating..."
I blinked a lot since I was confused about what I'm hearing. Are they talking about Ash? And what do they mean by Ash insulting the perfumes?
"Something wrong, Lillie?" Ash asks me with concern.
"Ash... I accidentally heard that you used to insult the perfumes here... what does that mean?" I decide to ask.
Ash gives me a slight frown and says, "I was immature and hotheaded back then. When Professor Oak told me that Gary had more badges than me, I just wanted to show him that I'm not the loser that he often treated me as. And you remember how Brock was acting when it comes to girls, right?"
I nod, even though we've only met a few times, but Brock is the person who would try to flirt with Nurse Joys, Officer Jennies, and other girls. And I look at the workers and I think I understand.
"So Brock was harassing those girls? That's why you were insulting the perfumes back then?" I ask.
"But it seems I've gone too far." Ash says to me with a wry smile. "It also cost me my chance to have a gym battle. I was forced to do a female disguise so that I got a chance to battle the gym leader."
Ash sighs and says, "I didn't win against the gym leader, but I got the badge because Team Rocket set fire to the gym and I saved her Pokemon."
"Those three never gave up causing trouble for you since the start of your journey..." I sigh. "But how would they have the will to continue stalking you for 8 years?"
"I don't know, but I'm glad I won't be seeing them again." Ash says to me. "Team Rocket's gone, they have no reason to follow me anymore."
After we purchase some perfumes, we all head outside and decide to have some ice cream in the department store.
"I heard from Brock and Misty that not all of your gym badges were earned by defeating the Gym Leaders in Kanto..." I decided to start another conversation.
"Yeah. 3 of the badges are actually earned by defeating the Gym Leader... I always thought my Kanto League attempt was a failure. I got 5 pity badges, and the reason I lost the league was that Charizard refused to listen to me."
"I'm sorry to hear that." I frown, and Ash shakes his head, "It's fine... after that League, I have been improving."
"You did." I lean onto his shoulder. "I was there when I saw you challenge the Kalos League, and I also experienced what the Alola League was like. I feel like I'm getting closer to you."
"Now that I think about it since you have Serena's memories, what are you planning to do? Are you going to finish what Serena couldn't finish?" Ash asks.
I stare at him before saying, "Serena... she is a performer who likes to do contests and showcases... but I enjoy battling and studying Pokemon. We have different personalities, but yet we're the same person. And that's why I decide to treat myself as a new person instead of being Serena or being just Lillie." I say.
Ash nods and says, "You're really brave, you know. And I really like the new you."
My face is red again as I'm not sure if Ash is flirting with me or not, but we spend some time together on the bench before it's time for us to leave.
And here is a new chapter, I should mention that this story will be Ash and Lillie's point of view, depending on who I want to write. I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will be a big surprise for the two of them.
