The Gnomelettes were getting really annoying, really fast, even for him. Zelos took the last bowl of curry that Regal had so kindly cooked for one of the Gnomelettes, who didn't even says thanks. What nerve... what nerve indeed. Standing up, Lloyd stretched and declared, "Well, let's get going then!" Murmured agreements went around, and the unusually large group headed for the bridge ahead of them.
Before they could reach it, though, they ran into some monsters. Weapons were drawn, and Raine took her place behind Zelos, Lloyd, and Regal, who approached the monsters. Two of the three were some strange snail-type things, and another was a tall, thin clay man. While Lloyd and Regal each took on one of the snails, Zelos approached the aloof clay man with an amused smirk. "Well what do we have here? He's not very sexy... He doesn't look very bright, either."
Zelos poked the clay man with his lightning blade curiously, seeing if it would even put up a fight. Its right arm fell off. The thing blinked stupidly, and Zelos let out a howl of laughter. Lloyd, finishing off his snail with a thrust, turned around to see what had Zelos so amused. Zelos poked the clay man harder, but this time, his sword was stuck. The clay man, not seeming to notice, bent down to pick up its lost limb. Zelos was busy trying to pull his sword out, and didn't notice its descent until it was too late.
Lloyd, Regal, Raine, Genis, and Colette all winced as a sickening 'thwack' was heard, followed by a loud 'thud'. Zelos... had gotten himself knocked out cold. Presea was as unemotional as always, and Sheena just started laughing hysterically. Regal took the liberty of removing Zelos' sword and finishing off the clay man, who had a knack for losing its arms. 'I...really wonder why I decided to travel with this group. I just can't help but wonder.'
