Ember felt Link pull her back into her bottle, and she heard voices speaking.
"Here, take this." She heard Saria say. "I'm sure your Korok will make great use of it."
Ember could not see what Saria had given Link.
"What is this?" Ember heard Link ask.
"It's a Technical Machine, or a TM for short." Saria answered.
"What does it do?" Link asked.
"It teaches moves to your monsters automatically, and they feel like they knew how to use that power all along." Saria answered. "This move is called Mega Drain. It'll drain your enemies' life depending on how powerful you are. You're pokemon will also gain the life that it stole from its target. It can't kill anyone, though."
"Cool!" Link exclaimed.
Ember was tired from the gym battle, so she drifted off to sleep.
Ember woke up in a weird room. It was white and red, and these weird metallic robots looked at her from the wall. She realized she was still in a bottle, so she decided not to panic and to look around. Her bottle was on a table with other bottles, some were empty and some were not. She could see labels on all of them, weird symbols written on them.
She also saw some human beds on the ground, and those also had monsters in them. There was a monster that looked like jelly, a Lizalfos.
She suddenly gasped, because she saw a Korok on one of the beds. It was a familiar one too. Kestu was lying in bed.
Ember realized that all of the cracks on Kestu were healed and she did not see any Toxic poisoning anymore. Where ever they were, she would not find out. So she tried to fall asleep again.
She jolted awake when she realized that her bottle was moving. She was being carried by a human girl, and she could see Kestu in the other bottle, but he was awake and peering out of the bottle.
Then, Link came into view. The girl who was carrying them passed them to Link who walked out of the building they were in.
A little later, both of them were released.
"Hey, did we win?" Kestu asked immediately. "I'm sorry I let you down by going unconscious so early."
"We did win." Link reassured him. "Your efforts were not a waste. You actually brought the Skulltula down with you."
"Cool!" Kestu laughed.
"And I got to use some speed to knock out both the Wolfos and the Deku Scrub while taking barely any damage!" Ember told Kestu excitedly. "I really like flying around. I see why some monsters developed flight."
"Ember says she destroyed the competition, and that she understands why birds like to fly." Kestu translated.
"Ember, you don't have to slither around all the time, you could fly." Link told Ember. "Also, I'm going to tell you my plan untill the next gym."
"Go ahead, Link." Kestu told him. "We'll follow you anywhere, except if you turn against the forest. Then I'm sure me and Ember will destroy you."
"Ha ha," laughed Link. "Have you forgotten I'm decent at the sword? Or did you just think I'd run home screaming to my mother?"
"Well," Ember answered. "Your mother will definitely be happy to see you."
"Ember says that your mother will be very happy to see you when you run away crying." Kestu translated.
"Alright, let's change the subject." Link laughed.
"Sure," said Kestu.
"So, we are going to have to go all the way to Gerudo Town, where the Spirit Sage Naburu who is the Ancient Type Gym Leader resides in her gym," started Link. "Man, that was a long sentence. Anyway, I'm hoping to catch another team member, especially a strong Plain type or Sea type. We will have to go to Hyrule Castle Town and Gerudo Fortress to get there. So, we'll stay in Hyrule Castle Town tonight."
Ember and Kestu agreed to the plan, so after a quick breakfast, they walked out of Kokiri Village in the opposite direction of the Korok Forest.
After going down a long forest trail, they came out of the woods that Ember had been in for four days. In front of them was a wide expanse of grass which seemed to be covered with monsters.
"We are going to try to avoid most of these creatures." Link told them. "This is the Hyrule Field. It is the largest field in all of Hyrule, and it almost completely encircles Hyrule Castle, which means high level monsters and over world bosses can be found everywhere here. We should keep to the path if we don't want to die."
Ember and Kestu kept a close eye on the sides of the path so that they would not be surprised. Ember knew that all three of them were shaking in fear, but they were ready for anything to cross their path.
Suddenly, a blob of goo and a weirdly colored. Lizalfos jumped down on top of them.
"Ember!" yelled Link as he pushed the Lizalfos off. "Deal with the Ice Chu Chu! Kestu! You've got the Blue Lizalfos!"
"Yessir." Kestu laughed as he engaged the Lizalfos with his newly learned move, Mega Drain.
Ember watched as Link pulled out his sword and slashed the air. A weirdly dressed human appeared.
"Well, well, well." The person laughed. "You found me. Winner takes all, including Zeldamon. I'm from Team Power. I'll make you bite the dust, green clad kid."
"That's not very noble of you to attack a kid, huh?" Link asked.
"Shut up!" Shrieked the masked warrior as he slashed at Link with his sword.
Ember looked away from that skirmish and caught sight of her target, who was approaching Link faster then she would like. She burst into the air, and charged straight into the Ice Chu Chu.
"Heh heh." it giggled.
The Ice Chu Chu had swallowed Ember whole.
Ice energy covered her. She could feel her body growing numb from the cold as she attempted to try to get out. But it was like being in a bottle that hurt you. She felt frostbite biting her scales. But she kept on struggling.
It seemed like it was all futile, when suddenly, she remembered something. Mountain energy. She could use that.
She channeled energy from the ground itself into her hands… The Ice Chu Chu seemed to shrink around her. Her body was warming up. The explosive fluid seemed to be transforming into Flame energy.
She smashed her newfound hands into the ground, and rocks smashed up from the earth, ripping into the Ice Chu Chu and forcing it to spit Ember out.
"I-Impossible! How did your snake evolve now of all times? And how did you turn my shiny Lizalfos against me? And how did you beat my mega-strong Ice Chu Chu? No no no no!"
"Wow, Ember, you look stronger!" Kestu laughed as he ran over to her. "Your head kind of looks like a helmet, and you've grown two front feet!"
"Hello," The Lizalfos had come up to them. "I'm Drake, a Blue Lizalfos. I joined you guys because Kestu convinced me that getting tortured by Team Power is worse then turning against them. Man, you look great like that."
"Well, it looks like our team improved drastically in that battle." Link said as he walked over to them.
"Hey, uh, that Ice Chu Chu was mean." Ember growled at Drake. Her voice came deeper than usual.
"Yeah. He loves that freaky stuff." Drake answered.
"Alright, so let's keep on going" Link told them.
