(Author's note: Hi there! Here's double drabble I wrote for the Jet Link and Francoise Arnoul fic challenge in the Cyborg 009 Fanfiction community on livejournal. I figured that I might as well put it here too. This takes place during "The Story of a Struggling Restaurant" just before Jet proves just how true his words about cooking really were. Also, Cyborg 009 is not mine - but you all probably knew that :) )
"A Chef Grows in Brooklyn"
Jet flicked on the small TV in the kitchen and waited for the Chef Judy Show to start. He'd been watching her show for almost a month now, watching carefully. Taking note of the way she did things: how she held the knife, how she stirred things, how she measured her ingredients, even the way she washed her vegetables.
He felt confident that he could do this - cooking. If Judy and Chang could do it, why couldn't he? It couldn't be that hard. Yessir, Jet Link was going to eat well tonight! No more Ramen for him!
He had everything he needed. He'd bought the finest ingredients (which, with his limited budget, translated roughly into "Eh, at least they're fresh!"). He'd taken out his pans (all three that had come with the apartment since he wasn't really sure which one he needed). He'd found a sharp knife in one of the drawers and he'd laid it on a wooden cutting board (which he'd found under the sink and had had to scrub for an hour in order to get all the green off of it).
"Hello, Cook fans! And welcome to the Chef Judy Show!"
At last, the time had come. He looked over his supplies one final time and smiled. He was ready.
THE END
(End note: Just figured that I'd mention that Chef Judy and her show came out of my head. But you probably knew that too :) )
