Tennyo's Zodiac Ceres
When Tohru was a little girl, her mother use to tell her stories about Heavenly maidens and their hagoromos. Her favorite was about two sisters, one who's robe was taken and forced to married and have children of the man who stole her robe, the other who went to search for her sister and to help bring her back to heaven, where she belong.
"…. A long time ago, a young tennyo heard what happened to her sister, whose robe was taken and couldn't return back home and went to search for her. She went and search everywhere but couldn't find her anywhere but she continued to look on and on, wandering far and wide, praying to find her sister and bring her home to where they belong." Kyoko, Tohru's mother said as she was about to close the book but the seven-year-old Tohru grabbed her sleeve, tugging anxiously.
"But momma, what happened, what happened to the Tennyo sisters, did they find each other and return to heaven? What happened to the one looking? Did she stay and married and had children too momma? What happened, please tell me?"
Tohru's blue-green eyes begged to hear more of the tale but her mother shook her head.
"Sorry but this is as far as I know or anyone else. But perhaps the heavenly sisters know and maybe you'll find out yourself one day maybe." She said and tweaked Tohru's nose teasingly.
Tohru nodded enthusiastically. "Yes momma I will. I promise I will find out what happened to the two tennyo sisters and learn what happened." Tohru promised just like the promise to be the year of the cat before. But little did Tohru know how much that vow was to later take affect in her life and change everything at her seventeenth birthday.
